Book excerpt: Whether you have been a practicing doctor of chiropractic for decades or you have just opened your first practice, it is crucial that you learn the fertile ground techniques that will keep your practice flowing with new patients and referrals. In this book, chiropractic's marketing legend, Dr. Ben Altadonna, provides a step by step guide for doctors on how to successfully implement the most effective, time tested, fertile ground tools in chiropractic.By creating fertile ground you simply make it easy and virtually impossible for the patient not to say "yes" to you. Ultimately the time you spend creating fertile ground replaces the "trickery" and slick sales practices so many of us despise in the sales process. Slick and Trickery become obsolete when you've simply taken the time to simply satisfy the patient's needs and concerns every step along the way.

Book Jamgon Kongtrul s Retreat Manual

Download or read book Jamgon Kongtrul s Retreat Manual written by Jamgon Kongtrul Lodro Taye and published by Shambhala Publications. This book was released on 1990-01-01 with total page 225 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Kagyu and Nyingma traditions of Himalayan tantric Buddhism require a long period of intensive training in meditation—a three-year, three-month retreat—before a practitioner is considered to be a qualified teacher. Jamgon Kongtrul's Retreat Manual was written in the mid-nineteenth century for those who wish to embark on this rigorous training. It guides them in preparing for retreat, provides full details of the program of meditation, and offers advice for their re-entry into the world. Jamgon Kongtrul's Retreat Manual also introduces us to one of the towering figures of nineteenth-century Tibet: Jamgon Kongtrul the Great (1813–99). The three-year retreat center he describes in this book was his creation, and its program consisted of those practices Kongtrul treasured enough to pass on to future generations through the spiritual leaders he trained.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Innovation is increasingly recognized as a vitally important social and economic phenomenon worthy of serious research study. Firms are concerned about their innovation ability, particularly relative to their competitors. Politicians care about innovation, too, because of its presumed social and economic impact. However, to recognize that innovation is desirable is not sufficient. What is required is systematic and reliable knowledge about how best to influence innovation and to exploit its effects to the full. Gaining such knowledge is the aim of the field of innovation studies, which is now at least half a century old. Hence, it is an opportune time to ask what has been achieved and what we still need to know more about. This is what this book sets out to explore. Written by a number of central contributors to the field, it critically examines the current state of the art and identifies issues that merit greater attention. The focus is mainly on how society can derive the greatest benefit from innovation and what needs to done to achieve this. However, to learn more about how society can benefit more from innovation, one also needs to understand innovation processes in firms and how these interact with broader social, institutional and political factors. Such issues are therefore also central to the discussion here.
