Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from The Feed Situation, Vol. 109: June 1949 Reports on the disposition of crops issued in early May indicate unusually large farm sales of feed grains from the 19h8 cr0ps. The esti mated sales include not'only grain sold to other farmers and into commercial channels, but also an allowance for unredeemed grain and fer grain delivered to the Government'under purchase agreements. Sales of corn and barley are estimated to be the largest on record, and sales of cats and sorghum grains much above average. With large quantities of feed grains stored on farms under the Government support programs, the quantities entering commercial channels during the 19u8-u9 marketing season have been small in relation to'the heavy sales. Market receipts of corn in recent months have been below average and stocks of corn at terminal markets have decreased from the large volume on hand early in 19m9. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from The Feed Grain Situation: August 26, 1937 Total feed grain supplies, including the very small carry - over of these grains at the beginning of the 1987 - 38 marketing year, will probably be about 5 or 6 percent below the 1928-82 average. With livestock numbers still more than 10 percent below average, the supply of feed grains per grain consuming animal will probably be larger than in any of the past 15 years with the possible exception of 1925 - 26 and 1932-33. On the basis of the August 1 indications, supplies per animal will be unusually large in some of the Corn Belt States, Where livestock numbers have been greatly reduced. The total production of corn in the Corn Belt was indicated on August 1 to be about average, which is in contrast to the extremely small crops in.that area durin the past 3 years. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Feed Situation: September 1962 Both domestic use and exports of feed grains reached new record-high levels in 1961-62, and carryover into 1962-63 is expected to be about 12 million tons below the 85 million tons carried over into 1961-62. While exports in 1962-63 may decline from the record level of 17 million tons in the past year, total domestic disappearance is expected to at least equal and may exceed the record level reached in 1961-62. In this event, feed grain production again would fall substantially below total disappearance, resulting in a further re duction in feed grain stocks at the close of the 1962-63 marketing year. The corn Supply for 1962-63 is now expected to total about million bushels, which would be a reduction of nearly 500 million bushels from.1961-62. Book excerpt: Excerpt from The Feed Situation: Fds-169, May 1958 The recently announced export program for corn and other feed grains is not expected to materially influence the volume of exports during the coming year. It will, however, result in a larger share of the total coming from commercial channels. CCC has resumed sales of non-storable corn for unrestricted use, which will supplement commercial supplies of free corn at interior points. Through April 15, farmers had placed 21 million tons of the 1957-cr0p feed grains under price support, percent more than a year earlier. The total for the year is expected to exceed, by around 5 million tons, the previous record of million tons in 1955-56. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from The Feed Situation: May 1959 Feed grain prices, reflecting heavy disappearance and still generally favorable returns from livestock feeding, have advanced more than seasonally since last fall. Heavy exports of feed grains under the payment-ih - kind program also have tended to strengthen prices by reducing free commercial supplies, especially for barley and sorghum grain. In April feed grain prices averaged close to the level for April, 1958. Prices of high-protein feeds averaged 16 percent higher during october-march this year than last. Since January, high-protein feed prices have declined and in early May they averaged slightly lower than a year ago. Download or read book Feed Situation Vol 251 written by United States Economic Research Service and published by Forgotten Books. This book was released on 2018-09-07 with total page 44 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Feed Situation, Vol. 251: November 1973 A tight supply and demand situation dominates the outlook for feed grains. The supply for totals 240 million tons, 3% below 1972/ 73. Production, forecast at 208 million tons, is 8 million more than last year, but carryover of old grain into the marketing year was down a third to 32 million tons. A further decline in carryover is likely at the end of Total disappearance, projected at 212 million tons, will exceed production. Domestic use may not quite match last year's 173 million tons if high feed costs reduce feeding rates and offset an expected 2% increase in livestock numbers. Foreign demand. Projected at 40 million (short) tons, continues exceptionally strong. Corn production is forecast at a record billion bushels. Plus carryover of old crop corn gives a supply of billion bushels 4% smaller than last year. Production is short of expected use, for the second consecutive year, causing another probable reduction in the carryover to about 625 million bushels next October. The tight supply plus high prices, strong exports. And some shift back to soybean meal feeding probably will bring a modest drop in domestic use. Export demand is projected at billion bushels, down about 10% from the record. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from The Feed Grain Situation: December 28, 1938 Feed grain and hay supplies in relation to livestock numbers on farms are again large for the winter and spring feeding season, reports the Bureau of Agricultural Economics in its quarterly analysis of the feed grain situation. As a result, feed grain prices are at a low level, but some im provement, particularly in corn prices, has been noted in recent weeks. With further improvement expected in consumers' incomes, some improvement in the demand for livestock products and feed grains during the next few months appears probable. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from The Feed Situation: October, 1951 A strong demand is in prospect for feed in 1951-52. Feed grain supplies are smaller and feed prices probably will average a little higher than in 1950-51. The total quantity of grains and other concentrates fed to livestock is expected to be the heaviest since World war 11, Which will reduce further the reserve stocks of feed grains. The total supply of all feed concentrates for 1951-52, including the grains and byproduct feeds, is estimated at 176 million tons, h per cent below the big supplies of the last 2 years, but nearly 30 percent above the l937-h1 average. This includes a 5 percent smaller supply of feed grains than in 1950-51, another large supply of byproduct feeds, and an allowance for wheat and rye feeding a little above the 1950-51 rate.
