Book Life Without the Father

Download or read book Life Without the Father written by Clyde A. Stewart and published by Tate Publishing. This book was released on 2010-02 with total page 156 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Fathers play the most influential role in the stability and future success of their children. Yet so many times, children are left to grow up fatherless. In Life Without the Father, Clyde Stewart recounts his experiences as a young black man growing up without a father. When he found himself as a teenager with a child, he had to make a choice: perpetuate the cycle, or break free. Life Without the Father is written to guide men into success as they choose to fulfill their responsibilities as fathers. With common sense and spiritual insight, Clyde navigates the issues that fathers deal with and leads them to a place where they can see the vast importance of their role in this world. He reveals how God's divine purpose has been to entrust the seed of humanity with men, and that the blessings of the harvest are only possible through obedience to that calling. God has not called fathers in vain, however, because he has given them the power of his Holy Spirit so that they can accomplish and receive the blessings set before them. For those struggling with fatherhood, learn to see the true greatness and potential of a solid relationship with your child. For those that feel they have nothing to offer, find the special calling of God that he has only given to you.

Book The Seven Pillars of Fatherhood

Download or read book The Seven Pillars of Fatherhood written by Donald H. Wood Ph.D and published by Covenant Books, Inc.. This book was released on 2022-01-05 with total page 129 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Much has been written about the role of a good father and the importance of a father in his children’s lives. However, in my opinion, little if any has been written about what are the fundamental attributes that make up a good or, what I like to call, a real father. I think that these fundamental attributes can be summed up with seven key traits or pillars as I like to refer to them. These fundamental truths or attributes known as the seven pillars (Ps) of fatherhood encompass the following key attributes: P1: Pilot. A real father is a man who knows how to lead (navigate) his children and family through the storms of life. P2: Provider. A real father is able to provide for his children with adequate shelter, food, and clothing. P3: Protector. A real father knows how to protect his children from the predators of life. P4: Preparer. A real father knows how to prepare and teach his children how to be self-sufficient and independent. P5: Praise. A real father knows how to instill self-esteem in his children through encouragement, support, and affirmation. P6: Patience. A real father is meek and slow to anger. He knows the difference between alienating his children and how to firmly direct his children in the right direction. P7: Prays. A real father knows how to be a prayer warrior on behalf of his children. By embracing and utilizing the seven pillars of fatherhood, all fathers or father figures will reap the benefits of successfully raising children who will be ready to take on the challenges of life. The way in which a man fathers his children can mean the difference between him finding great joy from his children in the future or great sorrow.

Book excerpt: In an era where social media exerts a powerful influence on our lives, fathers are increasingly confronted with messages that emphasize individualism and self-gratification. This cultural shift poses a significant challenge to the traditional role of fatherhood. This book is designed as a comprehensive guide for fathers seeking to navigate these modern pressures and rediscover the essence of their role within the family. It provides practical strategies and profound insights to help fathers build a strong, cohesive family unit amidst the distractions of contemporary society. We will explore how embracing selflessness and prioritizing family happiness can lead to a more fulfilling and harmonious family life. The guidance offered here is intended to help fathers strike a balance between their personal ambitions and their responsibilities towards their loved ones. By understanding the impact of social media and other modern influences, fathers can better appreciate the importance of their role in fostering a nurturing and supportive environment. Book excerpt: The Dad Book takes the reader on a spiritual and emotional journey to explore the role of the dad in their life. These stories and facts are drawn from the author's experience as a father, son, and pastor with more than forty years of ministry under his belt. One in three children is raised in a fatherless home according to the US Census and 63% of youth suicides are from fatherless homes (US Dept. of Health). Research shows 85% of all children with behavior disorders come from fatherless homes (Center for Disease Control). Why do some succeed in spite of statistics while others fail because of them? The Dad Book brings healing and strength to those who can relate to emotional trauma those statistics bring. The position of the father is to provide the child with a paradigm of Father God. You may ask, "How can I know Him if I've never known him?" The Dad Book provides clarity and a biblical solution to life's challenges. If you struggle in your marriage, friendships, or in figuring out life, then The Dad Book is for you. If you were raised with a great dad, like the author, it helps you to appreciate the dads in your life and recognize your other dads. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this ground-breaking book, Armin Brott presents the stages of fatherhood with the same thoroughness, accessibility, and humor that have made his critically acclaimed New Father series of books the most popular fatherhood guides in the country. He offers a wealth of information and practical tips, incorporating the wisdom of experts, studies about parental development, and his own extensive interviews with hundreds of fathers. Because fatherhood is a progression, the chapters are organized chronologically and describe a father's physical and emotional growth, how he influences a child at every age, and how a child impacts a father's evolution in turn. Brott covers everything from such general issues as how to juggle work and family roles, how to affect the kind of person your child becomes, and when to encourage his individuality and independence to such specific topics as how to get to know your baby, what to do if your teen uses drugs, and how to cope when adult children return home. Illustrated throughout with New Yorker style cartoons that underscore the universality of the joys and woes of parenting, Father for Life is brimming with insights and advice, and is an indispensable, lifelong guide—not only for every dad, but for every mom and child as well.

Book excerpt: After a long, frightening journey, a Seeker of Truth reaches the top of a mountain and finds the cave of the Wise One. He says, “O, Wise One, I have come many miles and suffered many hardships, to ask you one question.” “Ask,” says the Wise One. “What is the meaning of life?,” says the pilgrim. The Wise One pauses, smiles slightly, and replies, “You have come far and seem to me worthy, so I shall give you what you seek--the truth. The answer is in your question and this journey is your life. Go back down the mountain. When you arrive, you will know how much time you have wasted, and you will have no more time left. So, give me your watch.” Why is life so mysterious and why is its purpose so elusive to us? It may be that we have looked for the meaning of life in the wrong places, as though in a nightmarish scavenger hunt arranged by the Prince of Darkness himself. From one moment to another, we thought it was money or power or fame or honor or comfort or some other pleasure of the flesh, only to see them, finally, as false clues leading to a mountain we shouldn’t have climbed. This book records an inquiry that found the meaning of life by discovering the meaning of death. This is reflected in the words and behavior of those who decide to die--the suicides. These poor souls have much to teach us, for they have measured out for us the value of death, from which we can calculate the value of life, its reciprocal. So a study of suicide leads to the truth about life, yours and mine. This book guides you to that revelation. The surprise of the book is that you will discover that you knew it all along. The promise of the book is that you will know that you know.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I wrote this book because you need it. Don't get me wrong. You don't need me. However, you do need a process that goes beyond getting paid, because some of you have money. You need a process-some real, tangible, best practices-that extend further than showing you how to find a mate and have kids, because many of you have a spouse, significant other, or even a boo. You need a road map that shows you how to travel beyond success in one isolated aspect of your life, because many of you are well on your way and others have already become successful in this or that. What you need and what I've designed this book to provide is real and practical help to guide you on your journey to a place of fulfillment. Think of me as your guide on this journey. Like many of you, I've gained a measure of success in certain areas of my life. My professional career has been amazing, and I wake up every day loving the work that I do. I have been an All-American Athlete, Husband, Coach, Educator, and most importantly..., a Father. However, I realized in gaining success I'd started to ignore significant parts of my life that make me who I am. As a result, I had terrible personal relationships and a failed marriage. I spent far too much time doing things for everybody else instead of improving myself. I was successful yet fragmented and thus a mediocre man. I knew I had to create a process that would challenge me to overcome my weaknesses and push me to become a great man and not just a "successful professional." Am I great yet? Yes! By faith, it's called: faithing it. I'm committed to working every day to get there. My journey changed once I focused and my mediocrity transformed to mastery. This is the strategy that I will use to guide you through the process of becoming your personal best. This book is based on a combination of life experiences learned in the trenches and invaluable lessons taught to me from various teachers throughout my life. These lessons helped give me insight - by default and on purpose - to create a set of best practices that have guided me on my quest to achieving my personal best.
