Download or read book The Faithful God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob written by Zarah Everly and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2019-01-18 with total page 158 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Born and raised in a small town, author Zarah Everly grew up in poverty and was regularly exposed to sexual abuse and harmful addictions at a young age. As she learned about God, she prayed to Him in the hope of leaving the tough situation. In The Faithful God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, she shares her life journey, speaking of her evolution as a Christian woman, broken, fallen, and in desperate need of saving. In this memoir, she talks about her intimate walk with God as a sinful, yet justified, individual. Everly chronicles the realities she faced and how she had become an adulterer, fornicator, liar, thief, murderer, coveter, and idolater who was hateful, envious, gossipy, proud, disobedient, unmerciful, and unthankful. And, she describes how by God’s grace she was delivered, healed, sanctified, perfected, and made complete. She became a holy, blameless, and justified friend of God. The Faithful God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob narrates how God answered Everly’s prayers and tells of the warmth and comfort she received in times of desperation, hurt, and pain.

Book The God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob

Download or read book The God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob written by Watchman Nee and published by Living Stream Ministry. This book was released on 1993-05-01 with total page 200 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Christian life is based upon the irrevocable promises of God, the enjoyment of all that God has prepared for us in Christ, and the transformation that results from the loving discipline of the Spirit. In The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob Watchman Nee draws upon the experiences of the Old Testament patriarchs and presents their lives as an allegory of the complete Christian experience. From our response to God's promises by faith to our ultimate transformation into sons who are conformed to the image of Christ, we must pass through the same life experiences of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Like Abraham, we have been given the promise of God for the inheritance; like Isaac, we can enjoy all that God has planned for us in Christ His Son; and like Jacob, we must experience the discipline of the Holy Spirit for the sake of our growth and transformation.

Book The God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob

Download or read book The God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob written by Steven F. Darsey and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2013-07-31 with total page 110 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob brings readers on a surprising journey from the dawn of divine-human communion to the present, showing how this mysterious, ongoing relationship holds the keys to true worship. Laying a new foundation for understanding worship, the book makes a compelling case for distinguishing the church's practices from those of the world. Recognizing the holiness of worship, the author observes that music itself, apart from language, conveys its own theological meaning; that, similar to Scripture, there is an evolving canon of sacred music; and that, to mitigate idolatry, the spirit of worship must be tested to ensure that it addresses the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. When this timeless liturgical journey with God is honored with vital commitment, worship will be compelling and transfiguring to all people, at all levels of religious experience.

Book The Three Princes of God

Download or read book The Three Princes of God written by RV and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2015-02-02 with total page 109 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What does God require? A humble heart, a willing spirit, and a life that He can control. God called Abraham to be His chosen vessel. And from him came Isaac and Jacob, and Jacob became Israel, from whom the Messiah was born. Through the obedience of one man, God accomplished what He wanted. He loved His creation too much to let them be, so he came down and rescued his chosen ones from their own self destruction. God Almighty called Abraham when he was a pagan, deeply involved with the cult of his fathers era. He desperately wanted to get out, but that was his culture and attempting to escape would have left Abraham with nothing. His father owned everything and was in control of Abrahams life. And if he left, where would he have gone? How about you? Are you trying to escape from the One that can give you what world cant give you? The Bible is my inspiration. I took a journey with my Savior and He has guided me to write this book to let others know how much He loves us. God is serious about saving souls, for it is said in John 3:16, For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting Life.

Powerful kings claimed to be gods, building massive pyramids to achieve immortality. Out of this mass of misunderstandings, one man emerged. The man we know today as Abraham not only claimed that one true Creator existed but also staked his entire life on this belief. Why, thousands of years later, are we still discussing the faith of this desert nomad? One of America’s most popular Bible teachers Pastor Chuck Swindoll answers that question and many more in this compelling and insightful biography that will inspire your own faith.

In The Joseph Calling Os Hillman will help you: Embrace God’s activity in your life. Navigate through adversity. Discover your calling. Fulfill God’s purpose for your life. God has a plan for you at every stage of life. He wants you to know his assignment for you—and only you—so you can live an intentional and purpose-filled life.

Book The Beginning of Wisdom

Download or read book The Beginning of Wisdom written by Leon Kass and published by Simon and Schuster. This book was released on 2003-05-20 with total page 722 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Imagine that you could really understand the Bible...that you could read, analyze, and discuss the book of Genesis not as a compositional mystery, a cultural relic, or a linguistic puzzle palace, or even as religious doctrine, but as a philosophical classic, precisely in the same way that a truth-seeking reader would study Plato or Nietzsche. Imagine that you could be led in your study by one of America's preeminent intellectuals and that he would help you to an understanding of the book that is deeper than you'd ever dreamed possible, that he would reveal line by line, verse by verse the incredible riches of this illuminating text -- one of the very few that actually deserve to be called seminal. Imagine that you could get, from Genesis, the beginning of wisdom. The Beginning of Wisdom is a hugely learned book that, like Genesis itself, falls naturally into two sections. The first shows how the universal history described in the first eleven chapters of Genesis, from creation to the tower of Babel, conveys, in the words of Leon Kass, "a coherent anthropology" -- a general teaching about human nature -- that "rivals anything produced by the great philosophers." Serving also as a mirror for the reader's self-discovery, these stories offer profound insights into the problematic character of human reason, speech, freedom, sexual desire, the love of the beautiful, pride, shame, anger, guilt, and death. Something as seemingly innocuous as the monotonous recounting of the ten generations from Adam to Noah yields a powerful lesson in the way in which humanity encounters its own mortality. In the story of the tower of Babel are deep understandings of the ambiguous power of speech, reason, and the arts; the hazards of unity and aloneness; the meaning of the city and its quest for self-sufficiency; and man's desire for fame, immortality, and apotheosis -- and the disasters these necessarily cause. Against this background of human failure, Part Two of The Beginning of Wisdom explores the struggles to launch a new human way, informed by the special Abrahamic covenant with the divine, that might address the problems and avoid the disasters of humankind's natural propensities. Close, eloquent, and brilliant readings of the lives and educations of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Jacob's sons reveal eternal wisdom about marriage, parenting, brotherhood, education, justice, political and moral leadership, and of course the ultimate question: How to live a good life? Connecting the two "parts" is the book's overarching philosophical and pedagogical structure: how understanding the dangers and accepting the limits of human powers can open the door to a superior way of life, not only for a solitary man of virtue but for an entire community -- a life devoted to righteousness and holiness. This extraordinary book finally shows Genesis as a coherent whole, beginning with the creation of the natural world and ending with the creation of a nation that hearkens to the awe-inspiring summons to godliness. A unique and ambitious commentary, a remarkably readable literary exegesis and philosophical companion, The Beginning of Wisdom is one of the most important books in decades on perhaps the most important -- and surely the most frequently read -- book of all time.

Book God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob and Me

Download or read book God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob and Me written by DeVita and published by . This book was released on 2001-12 with total page 108 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: How do you begin a book about the God of the universe? Why would anyone even try? To those who believe in him there's no need for more printed matter to prove Him, and to those who don't believe, no amount of written material will convince them of who He is. For any who aren't sure, and who would like to believe, or need to believe in Him it's worth writing about His revelations to me. Of course He's told us who He is in His inspired Word, the Bible, but how do you begin to find what you need in a "book" that spans centuries? Since He is pure spirit, how can we begin to know Him and come to love Him? This was St. Augustine's famous question. "How do we love someone we don't know, and how do we get to know someone we don't love?" God does give us some understanding in the Bible. We are told that Jesus is His son, that Jesus is "in the Father" and the Father is "in Him." We are told that "He and the Father" are one and that when we have seen Jesus, we have seen the Father. Jesus tells us, that He will send His Spirit as a comforter and witness and we're told that when we are "saved, " His Spirit abides in us. We're told that when we are baptized by Jesus with His Holy Spirit we have a special unity with Him, and that we can be "led" by His Spirit, be "full" or "penetrated" by His Spirit, be "in the power" of His Spirit and "anointed" by His Spirit. We are also told that His sheep hear His voice. So it seems that if we are His sheep, and He is within us by His spirit, then we should hear His voice rising up from within us! I believe this and I believe I experience this on a regular basis. In this book I testify to you about the wonderful things He has said and done in my life. The word "testify" in the Bible comes from the Greek and literally translates to "give evidence." So this book, such as it is, is my testimony, the evidence I give about who my God is. It is not open to argument or debate because it is not a theological paper. It is something personal between God and me. I set it forth as a testimony of things God has done and said in my life. Many of these are spectacular, so some friends and other excited believers have told me I should share them with others, who may want to or need to hear them. I had my doubts about recording everything, but then God gave me the title of the book and the call to begin. I am a medical doctor, licensed and in good standing, and I claim to be a credible "evidence giver." The book consists of a series of narratives about personal supernatural experiences as well as some supernatural events involving others. There are stories of prophecies I have lived to see come to pass, and of prayers that have been answered involving others and myself. These are set forth in no special order; however, as much as possible, there is an intent to be chronological. Some testimonies are short; others are long. You may begin reading anywhere and skip about, as you like.
