Download or read book The Father s Love written by Ashish Raichur and published by All Peoples Church & World Outreach, Bangalore, India. This book was released on 2021-06-01 with total page 98 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Bible unveils many facets of God. Of these, one of the most powerful revelations of God is that of a Father. God is our heavenly Father. The Lord Jesus taught us to call God “Our Father.” The Bible reveals the Father’s love for us. This book is a study on the Father’s love. Our understanding of God’s love for us affects how we love God, how we love ourselves, and how we love others. God, our Father in heaven, loves us unconditionally and immeasurably. The greatest expression and demonstration of the Father’s love for us is the Cross of Jesus Christ. When we know, believe, receive, and rest in the Father’s love for us, everything changes. We are healed, made whole and set free from all our brokenness and bondages. When we live out of the Father’s love we love as we are loved. We love God freely. We love others freely. We live as more than conquerors, those who have more than vanquished all of life’s challenges and the powers of darkness, through the unbreakable love of God. This book is for YOU! Download or read book Transformed in Christ written by Ashish J. Naidu and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2012-08-09 with total page 293 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Scholarly readings of John Chrysostom's Christology seldom examine the intimate relationship that exists between his doctrinal, sacramental, and praxeological views. The vital correlation between exegesis and praxis in patristic thought must be taken into consideration in any evaluation of christological positions. Chrysostom's doctrine of Christ is intricately bound to life in the church. Within this conceptual framework, Chrysostom's commentaries on John's Gospel and Hebrews are examined. The christological portrait that emerges from this oeuvre is a depiction of the personal continuity of the divine Son in Christ; his sacramental presence in the church, the body of Christ; and his transforming work in the Christian, to the likeness of Christ. This persuasive study demonstrates that Chrysostom's view of the Christian life is the outworking of his exegetically informed and pastorally rich christological doctrine.

This book was released on 2021-06-01 with total page 36 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Those of us who are parents know that while raising children, there are times when we bring out the spanker, although we most often shower them with love! This is not because we hate our children but because we want to raise them up to be strong people. Likewise, when we want to raise strong people in the church, we need to teach them what they are supposed to do in the house of God. Unfortunately, there is not much teaching on this subject and everyone tends to do what they think is right. People in the church do whatever is on their minds and end up pulling the church in different directions and thus the church goes nowhere! If each one does what he or she thinks is right, we will have a house full of chaos and confusion. But God is not the author of confusion. With the desire to build a strong church, by raising strong people in it, I am sharing the message—“How to Help Your Pastor” through this book, believing that you will understand the motivation of my heart in doing so. Download or read book Debating Conversion in Hinduism and Christianity written by Ankur Barua and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2015-03-27 with total page 228 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Hindu and Christian debates over the meanings, motivations, and modalities of ‘conversion’ provide the central connecting theme running through this book. It focuses on the reasons offered by both sides to defend or oppose the possibility of these cross-border movements, and shows how these reasons form part of a wider constellation of ideas, concepts, and practices of the Christian and the Hindu worlds. The book draws upon several historical case-studies of Christian missionaries and of Hindus who encountered these missionaries. By analysing some of the complex negotiations, intersections, and conflicts between Hindus and Christians over the question of ‘conversion’, it demonstrates that these encounters revolve around three main contested themes. Firstly, who can properly ‘speak for the convert’? Secondly, how is ‘tolerating’ the religious other connected to an appraisal of the other’s viewpoints which may be held to be incorrect, inadequate, or incomplete? Finally, what is, in fact, the ‘true Religion’? The book demonstrates that it is necessary to wrestle with these questions for an adequate understanding of the Hindu and Christian debates over ‘conversion.’ Questioning what ‘conversion’ precisely is, and why it has been such a volatile issue on India’s political-legal landscape, the book will be a useful contribution to studies of Hinduism, Christianity and Asian Religion and Philosophy.

Download or read book Food Feasts and Faith 2 volumes written by Paul Fieldhouse and published by Bloomsbury Publishing USA. This book was released on 2017-04-17 with total page 676 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An indispensable resource for exploring food and faith, this two-volume set offers information on food-related religious beliefs, customs, and practices from around the world. Why do Catholics eat fish on Fridays? Why are there retirement homes for aged cows in India? What culture holds ceremonies to welcome the first salmon? More than five billion people worldwide claim a religious identity that shapes the way they think about themselves, how they act, and what they eat. Food, Feasts, and Faith: An Encyclopedia of Food Culture in World Religions explores how the food we eat every day often serves purposes other than to keep us healthy and stay alive: we eat to express our faith and to adhere to ethnic or cultural traditions that are part of who we are. This book provides readers with an understanding of the rich world of food and faith. It contains more than 200 alphabetically arranged entries that describe the beliefs and customs of well-established major world religions and sects as well as those of smaller faith communities and new religious movements. The entries cover topics such as religious food rules, religious festivals and symbolic foods, and vegetarianism and veganism, as well as general themes such as rites of passage, social justice, hospitality, and compassion. Each entry on religion explains what the religious dietary laws and guidelines are and how these were interpreted and put into practice historically and in modern settings. The coverage also includes important festivals and feast days as well as significant religious figures and organizations. Additionally, some 160 sidebars provide examples and more detailed information as well as fun facts.

Download or read book The Indian Media Economy 2 volume set written by Adrian Athique and published by Oxford University Press. This book was released on 2017-12-29 with total page 507 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The twenty-first century has witnessed the rise of India as a major media producer and consumer market increasingly engaged with the global economy. Aided by rising incomes, technological remediation, regulatory strategies, and a shifting political terrain, the business of media has been given official recognition as a substantive component of India’s economy and as a prominent feature of its economic thinking. In light of these developments, these two pioneering volumes investigate the dynamics of an increasingly integrated media economy encompassing television, film, music, sport, and telecoms. Volume 1: Industrial Dynamics and Cultural Adaptation illustrates the distinctive industrial dynamics of India’s media economy, tracking the deeply embedded cultural, political, and economic forces that determine its everyday operation. The selection of essays serves to demonstrate the unique patterns of development and the complex field of exchanges that have constituted India’s media economy. As a whole, this volume posits a comprehensive approach to understanding the nature of media resources, the negotiation of industrial norms and the cultural context of a media economy firmly situated in the realities of India’s distinct regions, cultures, and human networks. Volume 2: Market Dynamics and Social Transactions provides a comprehensive analysis of the interlocking markets that constitute the media economy, focusing upon its particular commodity forms, labour conditions, and spaces of consumption. Taking account of a rich set of case studies, this volume argues for the necessary consideration of multiple and interdependent markets in explicating our everyday encounters with media. By foregrounding the social transactions that encapsulate market exchanges, it begins to illustrate some of the novel aspirations, meanings, and relationships arising with India’s media economy.
