Keenan must dare to believe or pay the price and lose them both. As a diehard science nut, Keenan O'Brien's passion is debunking legends for her YouTube channel. So when her friend dares her to sleep in a fairy mound on All Hallows' Eve, she jumps at the chance to prove that faeries don't exist. Or so she thought. There, she meets Aegnus, a gorgeous silver-haired musician, who offers proof otherwise. Unable to resist, she follows him to the rave of a lifetime. But once there, her skepticism lands her in a heap of inexplicable trouble with a so-called faery queen. To survive, Keenan must set aside her disbelief to accept the help of Liam, the hot and dominant human cop who claims responsibility in caring for those who have tangled with the Fae. But his own family has a secret, one that can only worsen her plight. Now, with some help from the faery prince who had drawn her there in the first place, the two must race against time to free her from the queen's hold. Because they find that once Faerie has claimed someone, it does not like to let go.

Book excerpt: When faerie tale dreams come true, nightmare creatures can be deadly. Eve doesn’t believe in magic or fate. But when her carefully ordered life begins to unravel, she starts dreaming about the Faerie Queen depicted in a tapestry that hangs at her uncle’s family estate in England. The dreams rekindle her passion for history and give her a new plan for her future. Step one in that plan is a Christmas visit with her aunt and uncle at Lydbury Manor that she hopes will earn her an internship with her uncle. Unfortunately, a mysterious handsome stranger is also living at the manor and says he’s her uncle’s secretary. Liam has been cooped up in Lydbury Manor masquerading as a human for far too long, at least as far as the Fae High Court is concerned. He knows he’s close to locating the magical artifacts that will help the Fae destroy the leader of the Wild Hunt. He just needs a little more time. What he doesn’t need is Oscar’s niece showing up, asking questions he isn’t allowed to answer. If he allows her to distract him, the Hunt will ride again at the winter solstice, laying waste to the remaining Fae. As Eve’s suspicions about Liam bring her closer to discovering his secrets, the pair are forced to decide between fighting their mutual attraction, or surrendering to a forbidden love that will threaten both their lives. If you like fantasy worlds, adventure, and suspense, don't miss this award winning I Heart Indie Contest, Heart to Heart Contest, and Daphne du Maurier Award finalist!

In the end they will have to draw upon both scientific knowledge and mystical traditions to save themselves. Book Modeling Water Resources Management at the Basin Level

Download or read book Modeling Water Resources Management at the Basin Level written by Ximing Cai and published by Intl Food Policy Res Inst. This book was released on 2006-01-01 with total page 169 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This report develops an integrated economic-hydrologic river basin model and applies it to the Maipo River Basin in central Chile. Policy simulations based on the modeling framework can serve as a guide for water resource managers and policymakers in designing appropriate water policies and establishing reform priorities for water resource allocation. Alternative analyses undertaken for the Maipo basin-a mature water economy with limited resources and competition for water across all water-using sectors-offer new insights into the changing relationships between irrigation system and basin-level water use efficiencies. They also show how these changing relationships affect farm incomes and environmental impacts. Simulations also provide new results on the role that the trading of water use rights can play in maintaining farm production levels, enhancing farmer incomes, and increasing water use efficiencies.
