It's obviously easier when you are able to follow the picture on the box cover. As more of the puzzle pieces fit into place, placing the remaining pieces becomes even easier. The most exciting part is when you finally place that last piece. When we study end-time prophecies it would be helpful if we could follow a picture on the box cover. As prophecies continue to be fulfilled, seeing how the remaining pieces will fit into place becomes easier. The most exciting fulfillment of all prophecy will be when Jesus Christ returns. The picture on the box cover of prophecy is given to us in Scripture. Over the last 2500 years many of the prophecy pieces have already been put into place. As we look at our world today we can see that the stage is being set for the remaining pieces of prophecy to be fulfilled. In this book we will begin with a study of God's chosen people. Starting with Abraham we see the Biblical account of how God called those He loved to follow Him. We will look at how the family of Jacob became enslaved in Egypt. What is the real story of how they escaped? How did God mold and shape the Israelites into a kingdom? We see them going into captivity, and then returning to their homeland, only to be forced out once again and dispersed among the nations. We will also examine the history of where and how they lived among the nations after the Babylonian captivity, during the Diaspora. God has always planned for the Jewish people to return to their homeland. We will look at some of the events that went into the creation of the modern nation of Israel. After proclaiming independence in May, 1948, we see continued attempts on the part of their Muslim neighbors to try to deny their existence. The Israelis captured the West Bank and the Temple Mount area in the Six-day war in June, 1967. Plans are now set for them to build the temple once again. Wars have been fought, and peace treaties have been sought, but there is a seven-year treaty yet to be signed. We will look at this treaty in the Book of Daniel, the treaty that will launch the final end-time prophecies putting the last pieces of the puzzle into place. As I write this book, on October 7, 2023, Israel was attacked again by her neighbors. If a treaty were to be signed to end this war, is it possible that the treaty signed would be the one in Daniel 9:27? Are we that close to the end-times? This verse also tells us that the treaty will be broken after three and one-half years. This will then bring about the final war before Christ returns, World War III. Our Lord is not simply coming back someday on a cloud from the east, as many secular churches incorrectly teach. But there are many events that will fall into place leading up to His return. Our Lord's return will be in two parts: He comes at the beginning of the last seven years to take up all those who are saved. He won't set His feet on the earth, but all who have committed their life to Him will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air (1 Thes 4:17). Any who are not caught up...to meet the Lord in the air will be left behind. During the last seven years, they will experience famine, plagues, war, persecution, destruction, nuclear holocaust, etc., and will have very little chance of ever getting into Heaven. Our Lord then comes at the end of the last seven years to establishment His Kingdom here on earth. What a glorious day that will be!
