Book Christian School of Esoteric Wisdom Philosophy and Theological Beliefs

Download or read book Christian School of Esoteric Wisdom Philosophy and Theological Beliefs written by Henry Epps and published by . This book was released on 2013-10-24 with total page 590 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: So, why a school of esoteric ministry? With so many schools of ministry on the internet and in the community why another school of ministry? Well I have studied under several ministries and they have provided some good teachings, but there are still many questions I have found unanswered? When I read about the ministry of Jesus Christ I am amazed at the wonderful awesome work that Jesus did when he walked the earth. I am amazed at the signs, wonders and miracles that our Lord perform, so why don't we see these same signs and wonders today? Well I believe that the true disciple of Jesus Christ desires a deeper walk with the Lord, and a deeper understanding of spiritual things. Well I believe to receive the deeper knowledge of the spirit we must learn how to communicate in the spirit. This school of esoteric wisdom is not a religious school of ministry. The first year of training is a year of purging, self-discipline and self-discover phase, and the second year is for advance studies of Christian and esoteric teachings. So much we understand today is past down from the traditions of religious dogma and beliefs, and these beliefs are in conflict with each other, these beliefs such as " Saved by grace, faith alone, saved by works, the trinity, Jesus alone operating in three offices of the father, son and Holy Spirit, and on and on, and on?" Yet the original teachings of the church have been cast away such as Faith, hope, love service to others, altruism, humility, feeding the poor or helping the needy, where have these teaching have gone?

Book Esoteric Orders and Their Work

Download or read book Esoteric Orders and Their Work written by Dion Fortune and published by Weiser Books. This book was released on 2000-08-13 with total page 143 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: From the British occultist and author, a classic study of what esoteric orders are and what they can offer initiates. People have been interested in secret traditions since the beginning of time. Fraternal brotherhoods and sisterhoods, and secret orders of varying degrees exist in every country, race, and religion. In Esoteric Orders and Their Work, author Dion Fortune gets to the root of exactly what esoteric orders are, leaving no stone unturned. The chapter “Esotericism, Occultism, and Mysticism” defines what esotericism is in relation to exotericism—in layman’s terms, the inner life versus the outer one. In “The Origin of the Mysteries,” she looks at how esotericism grew hand-in-hand with the evolution of humankind, discussing how humans evolved from a group soul (still present in animals today, i.e.: packs of wolves) into a singular soul. “The Paths of the Western Tradition” is a discussion on the different schools that have developed (known as Rays) and how students, after having formed a solid base of knowledge, work through each ray on their way to becoming closer to an esoteric ideal. She expounds upon Masters in “The Evolution and Functions of the Masters.” We discover that they are not so much superhuman entities as beings who have learned all they need to know on the physical plane and now teach from the ethereal. Chapters such as “The Right and Left-Hand Paths” and “The Use and Power of Ritual” explain the differences between Black and White Occultism, and how long-kept-secret rituals taught only to initiates are used to further the order’s members along their paths. Today, in the centers of the civilized world, there is renewed interest in esoteric schools, and although they may be misunderstood by the mainstream, some of the noblest people have been among their advocates. This book removes the shroud of mystery and fear from esotericism and makes the Western Mystery Tradition accessible to anyone who has ever been curious about this fascinating spiritual path! Revised edition contains a new foreword by Gareth Knight, and an index.

Book excerpt: When Christ-Jesus walked the earth, over two thousand years ago, he established a two-fold division in his teaching that has continued to this day. To the general public, he simplified his teaching and presented it in pictorial, allegorical and figurative imagery in the form of stories, parables and lessons that could be imaginatively and intuitively understood. To his inner circle of disciples (who were sufficiently prepared), however, he taught more plainly and directly in the form of intellectual concepts, clear ideas and logical reasoning that could be understood on a much deeper and wider level of comprehension. As biblically explained: Then the disciples came and said to him, "Why do you speak to them [the general public] in parables?" And he answered them, "To you it has been given to know the secrets of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given ... This is why I speak to them in parables, because seeing they do not see, and hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand." (Matt 13:10, 13) Moreover, in union with the divine, Our Saviour was able to reveal sacred knowledge that had never been previously presented in the entire history of mankind: "I will explain mysteries hidden since the creation of the world" (Matt 13:35). This sacred and revealed knowledge has been termed "Christ-mysteries" or "mysteries of the Son." After his glorious resurrection and ascension, Christ-Jesus institutionalized his two-fold mystery-teachings through St. Peter and St. John (the Evangelist, not the apostle). Through St. Peter, Our Saviour instituted a universal, Christian religion and theology to preserve, promote and convey the more basic and simplified mystery-teachings that are intended for the general public. Through St. John, Christ-Jesus instituted a universal, Christian philosophy and theosophy to preserve, promote and convey the more comprehensive and complex mystery-teachings that are intended for the more advanced disciples (Christian initiates). In esoteric terminology, the institutionalized teachings through St. Peter are known as the "lesser mysteries of exoteric Christianity." The institutionalized teachings through St. John are known as the "greater mysteries of esoteric Christianity." While both mystery-teaching approaches are equally sacred, profound and intended to complement each other, corrupt and intolerant authorities within the universal institution (Church) of St. Peter, for many centuries, persecuted and attacked any public expressions of esoteric Christianity. Consequently, genuine historical forms of esoteric Christianity, such as the Knights of the Holy Grail and the Fraternity of the Rose-Cross, were forced to be secretive and publicly-hidden during the past two thousand years. Thankfully today, the social, political and intellectual climate has progressed to the point where the greater mystery-teachings of esoteric Christianity can begin to be publicly revealed for the first time. This modern-day outpouring really began with the twentieth-century establishment of anthroposophy by Rudolf Steiner (1861-1925). The information and approach presented in The Star of Knowledge: The Five Guiding Mysteries of Esoteric Christianity, is intended to augment and continue the mystery-teachings of Christ-Jesus as safeguarded by the Rosicrucian Fraternity and publicized through anthroposophy. Consequently, this particular discourse delves much more deeply and comprehensively into the cosmos-changing, salvational achievement of Christ-Jesus: the historical and cosmic preparations; as well as his birth, life, death, resurrection and ascension. While much of this mystery information may be unfamiliar, unknown and unexpected to mainstream (exoteric) Christianity, it in no way is meant to criticize, denigrate or displace the profound teachings of the universal Church; but rather, to complement, to enhance and to enlarge - for the betterment of true Christianity and, thereby, the betterment of all mankind.

Book excerpt: This book investigates the problem of esoteric traditions in early Christianity, their origin and their transformation in Patristic hermeneutics, in the West as well as in the East. It argues that these traditions eventually formed the basis of nascent Christian mysticism in Late Antiquity. These esoteric traditions do not reflect the influence of Greek Mystery religions, as has often been claimed, but rather seem to stem from the Jewish background of Christianity. They were adopted by various Gnostic teachings, a fact which helps explaining their eventual disappearance from Patristic literature. The eleven chapters study each a different aspect of the problem, including the questions of Gnostic and Manichaean esotericism. This book will be of interest to all students of religious history in Late Antiquity. Revised and extended paperback edition. Originally published in 1996. Please click here for details.

This book was released on 2005 with total page 50 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Thus spoke Rudolf Steiner in his "Last Address" to members of the Anthroposophical Society. In particular, he throws light on issues of "incarnation and incorporation," the nature of John the Baptist's and John the Evangelist's respective initiations, the significance of their mutual work at the "Turning Point of Time," and its relevance to our present day.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In these unique lectures, given to members of his Esoteric School (1904-14), Rudolf Steiner's main intention is to throw light on the hidden content of the picture-language of myths, sagas and legends. Pictures, he explains, are the real origin of all things - the primeval spiritual causes. In order to work in a healthy way with pictures or symbols today, however, it is necessary that one should first become acquainted with their esoteric content - to understand them. At the time of these lectures Steiner was planning to inaugurate the second section of the Esoteric School, which was to deal in a direct way with a renewal - out of his own spiritual research - of ritual and symbolism. He gave these lectures as a necessary preparation, to clarify the history and nature of the cultic tradition. He thus discusses principally Freemasonry and its background, but also the Rosicrucians, Manichaeism, the Druids, the Prometheus Saga, the Lost Temple, Cain and Abel - and much else besides.

Download or read book The True Church of Christ written by J. W. Brodie-Innes and published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. This book was released on 2017-01-16 with total page 136 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This papers were originally intended for those specially familiar with Oriental philosophies and modes of thought, an attempt has therefore been made to translate the language of Western Christian teaching as to the origin and functions of the Church into Eastern phraseology. In republishing the papers with a view, it is hoped, to a wider circulation, it became necessary to explain somewhat of this phraseology. Therefore a paper by the same author on the Seven Prtnctples of Man as understood by the Eastern schools (a conception which has been largely used as an analogy in these papers) has been added as an appendix, and a glossary of the Sanskrit and other Theosophical terms used in the work has been appended, which it is hoped will make the papers quite clear to the average Western mind. First, then, I write not for those who have been truly trained in the faith and doctrines of the Church, for to them all the knowledge I can impart has come in a far more perfect as well as easier way than any we could suggest. I would emphasize the word truly, for I mean the esoteric members of the Church, whose faith is not a blind faith, but a deep and genuine spiritual knowledge. We write not for the indifferent, having no desire to propose, least of all to gain those who have no backbone.
