Book VLSI Electronics

Download or read book VLSI Electronics written by Norman G. Einspruch and published by Academic Press. This book was released on 2014-12-01 with total page 417 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: VLSI Electronics: Microstructure Science, Volume 5 considers trends for the future of very large scale integration (VLSI) electronics and the scientific base that supports its development. This book discusses the automation for VLSI manufacture, silicon material properties for VLSI circuitry, and high-performance computer packaging and thin-film multichip module. The nanometer-scale fabrication techniques, high-density CCD memories, and solid-state infrared imaging are also elaborated. This text likewise covers the impact of microelectronics upon radar systems and quantum-mechanical limitations on device performance. This volume is a good source for scientists and engineers who wish to become familiar with VLSI electronics, device designers concerned with the fundamental character of and limitations to device performance, systems architects who will be charged with tying VLSI circuits together, and engineers conducting work on the utilization of VLSI circuits in specific areas of application.

Book Monopulse Radar Theory and Practice Second Edition

Download or read book Monopulse Radar Theory and Practice Second Edition written by Samuel M. Sherman and published by Artech House. This book was released on 2011 with total page 420 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Monopulse is a type of radar that sends additional information in the signal in order to avoid problems caused by rapid changes in signal strength. Monopulse is resistant to jamming which is one of the main reasons it is used in most radar systems today. This updated and expanded edition of an Artech House classic offers you a current and comprehensive treatment of monopulse radar principles, techniques, and applications. The Second Edition features two brand new chapters, covering monopulse countermeasures and counter-countermeasures and monopulse for airborne radar and homing seekers. This essential volume categorizes and describes the various forms of monopulse radar, and analyzes their capabilities and limitations. The book also devotes considerable space to monopulse circuits and hardware components, explaining their functions and performance. This practical resource features numerous photographs and illustrations drawn from actual radar systems and components. This book serves as a valuable reference for both experienced radar engineers and those new to the field.

Book Introduction to Radar Systems

Download or read book Introduction to Radar Systems written by Merrill Ivan Skolnik and published by McGraw-Hill Companies. This book was released on 1962 with total page 672 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Since the publication of the second edition of "Introduction to Radar Systems," there has been continual development of new radar capabilities and continual improvements to the technology and practice of radar. This growth has necessitated the addition and updating of the following topics for the third edition: digital technology, automatic detection and tracking, doppler technology, airborne radar, and target recognition. The topic coverage is one of the great strengths of the text. In addition to a thorough revision of topics, and deletion of obsolete material, the author has added end-of-chapter problems to enhance the "teachability" of this classic book in the classroom, as well as for self-study for practicing engineers.

Book Monopulse Processing for Tracking Unresolved Targets

Download or read book Monopulse Processing for Tracking Unresolved Targets written by William Dale Blair and published by . This book was released on 1998 with total page 364 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: When target echoes Interfere in a monopulse radar system, the Direction of Arrival (DOA) estimate indicated by the in-phase monopulse ratio can wander far beyond the angular separation of the targets. In addition to closely spaced targets, the problem of unresolved or merged measurements also occurs when targets are observed in the presence of jammer signals or sea surface induced multipath. The failure to detect the presence of this interference and address it in the DOA estimation can be catastrophic to the performance of the tracking algorithm, since its position and velocity estimates determine the association of any subsequent measurements to the target. Monopulse processing for tracking unresolved targets is addressed in four pans. The first pan involves the development of the Probability Density Function (PDF) and statistics of the measured amplitude of the sum signal for an arbitrary number of unresolved Rician targets. The PDF and statistics are utilized to develop estimators of the target amplitude parameters, which define the Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR) of the target and discriminators for models of the target amplitude fluctuations. The second part involves the development of the joint PDF and statistics of the complex monopulse ratio for an arbitrary number of unresolved Rician targets and a fixed amplitude target in the presence of multipath.
