He fought the case all the way to the Supreme Court and won. Meredith endured months of death threats, daily verbal abuse, and round-the-clock protection from federal marshals and thousands of troops to became the first black graduate of the University of Mississippi in 1963. In 1966 he was shot by a sniper on the second day of his “Walk Against Fear” to inspire voter registration in Mississippi. Though Meredith never allied with traditional civil rights groups, leaders of civil rights organizations flocked to help him complete the march, one of the last great marches of the civil rights era. Decades later, Meredith says, “Now it is time for our next great mission from God. . . . You and I have a divine responsibility to transform America.”

At this juncture, I am pleased to note here that the translation of Vachanamrutam done by Late Dr. Jagmohandas J. Mody was handed over by him to this Gurukul for publication, thro' Shri Mahendrabhai Shelat, the Late editor of Sadvidya. The most valuable services rendered by Dr. Shri Jagmohandas Mody for this will ever be remembered. He has done this translation in his retired life with deep interest. Further his eldest son Dr. Shri Raghuvirbhai Mody has also taken the opportunity of rendering some monetary services fot this publication. May Bhagwan Shri Swaminarayan bestow eternal peace to Late Dr. J. J. Mody in His divine abode Akshardham and give happiness and affinity to our holy fellowship to all his sons Dr. Shri Raghuvirbhai Mody, Shri Kunjviharibhai Mody, Dr. Vibhakarbhai Mody and Shri Sudhakarbhai Mody and his family. He also tried his best to revise as well as to review this translation and has corrected some references wherever required. Our elderly Saint Pujyapad Shri Jogi Swami Shri Hariprakashdasji who has the references of all the Vachanamrutams on the tip of his tongue and who is always engrossed in meditation and devotion conveys his blessings to all who have given services for this publication directly or indirectly and to all other devotees and readers of this Vanchanamrutam. That is, the divine persons are equally active in every operation. But then, in what way did the Father create the world through Christ? How can only the Son be incarnate, die, and be resurrected? Why does Christ have to ascend before the Spirit may come? These and many other questions pose serious objections to the doctrine of inseparable operations. In the first book-length treatment of this doctrine, Adonis Vidu takes up these questions and offers a conceptual and dogmatic analysis of this essential axiom, engaging with recent and historical objections. Taking aim at a common “soft” interpretation of the inseparability rule, according to which the divine persons merely cooperate and work in concert with one another, Vidu argues for the retrieval of “hard inseparability,” which emphasizes the unity of divine action, primarily drawing from the patristic and medieval traditions. Having probed the biblical foundations of the rule and recounted the story of its emergence in nascent Trinitarianism and its neglect in modern theology, Vidu builds a constructive case for its retrieval. The rule is then tested precisely on the battlegrounds that were thought to have witnessed its defeat: the doctrines of creation, incarnation, atonement, ascension, and the indwelling of the Spirit. What emerges is a constructive account of theology in which the recovery of this dogmatic rule shines fresh light on ancient doctrines.
