Book The Diffraction Theory of Large Aperture Spherical Reflector Antennas

Download or read book The Diffraction Theory of Large Aperture Spherical Reflector Antennas written by A. C. Schell and published by . This book was released on 1963 with total page 8 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The field along the axis of a spherical reflector is determined from the geometry of the system rather than from each term of the aberration taken separately. The procedure shows how the field distribution changes from the case of small aberration, where there is a well-defined focus, to the geometric optics limit. A spherical reflector becomes an efficient antenna when a set of feed elements is located along the axis to reduce the effects of spherical aberration. The number and position of these elements is dictated by the size and curvature of the reflector and the allowable distortion of the wavefront. (Author).

Book Antenna Theory

Download or read book Antenna Theory written by Constantine A. Balanis and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2012-12-03 with total page 1165 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The discipline of antenna theory has experienced vast technological changes. In response, Constantine Balanis has updated his classic text, Antenna Theory, offering the most recent look at all the necessary topics. New material includes smart antennas and fractal antennas, along with the latest applications in wireless communications. Multimedia material on an accompanying CD presents PowerPoint viewgraphs of lecture notes, interactive review questions, Java animations and applets, and MATLAB features. Like the previous editions, Antenna Theory, Third Edition meets the needs of electrical engineering and physics students at the senior undergraduate and beginning graduate levels, and those of practicing engineers as well. It is a benchmark text for mastering the latest theory in the subject, and for better understanding the technological applications. An Instructor's Manual presenting detailed solutions to all the problems in the book is available from the Wiley editorial department.

Book A Line source Corrector for Large Spherical Reflectors

Download or read book A Line source Corrector for Large Spherical Reflectors written by Nicholas P. Kernweis and published by . This book was released on 1967 with total page 32 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Theoretical and experimental results demonstrating an increase in effective aperture area of a spherical reflector are presented. The correcting device described in this report is a line source used in conjunction with a horn.

Book Apertures

Download or read book Apertures written by R. C. Hansen and published by Academic Press. This book was released on 2014-05-10 with total page 463 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Microwave Scanning Antennas, Volume I: Apertures is a comprehensive account of phased arrays, multiple beam arrays, time domain and synthetic apertures, and adaptive antennas. Advances in continuous apertures and near field theory are discussed. Low noise and monopulse apertures, optical scanners, and large radomes are also covered, along with radio astronomy instruments and associated theory. Comprised of five chapters, this volume begins with an overview of aperture theory as well as aperture distributions and near field theory. The second and third chapters deal with mechanically steered and electronically scanned antennas, including monopulse antennas and optical scanners. The fourth chapter is devoted to radio astronomy instruments and techniques and encompasses both apertures and arrays, together with radio telescopes and antennas. The final chapter describes large radomes that are primarily used with aperture antennas. This book is intended for engineers who must understand narrow beam or high resolution antennas more deeply than from the system interfaces alone, and for undergraduate and graduate students in electronics who wish to complement their study of electromagnetics with the quantitative details of hardware applications.

Book Handbook of Reflector Antennas and Feed Systems Volume I Theory and Design of Reflectors

Download or read book Handbook of Reflector Antennas and Feed Systems Volume I Theory and Design of Reflectors written by Satish K. Sharma and published by Artech House. This book was released on 2013-07-01 with total page 323 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is the first truly comprehensive and most up-to-date handbook available on modern reflector antennas and feed sources for diversified space and ground applications. There has never been such an all-encompassing reflector handbook in print, and no currently available title offers coverage of such recent research developments. The Handbook consists of three volumes. Volume I provides a unique combination of theoretical underpinnings with design considerations and techniques. The need for knowledge in reflector antennas has grown steadily over the last two decades due to increased use in space and ground applications, as well as their high gain and wide bandwidth capabilities at relatively low cost. This volume brings you to the leading edge of developments in the field related to numerical techniques, classical reflector geometries, adaptive reflector antennas, shaped reflectors, bifocal and bicollimated dual reflectors, advanced reflectors, and reflect arrays. A must-have reference for both practicing engineers as well as academic researchers.

Book The Paraboloidal Reflector Antenna in Radio Astronomy and Communication

Download or read book The Paraboloidal Reflector Antenna in Radio Astronomy and Communication written by Jacob W. M. Baars and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2007-08-06 with total page 270 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Radio astronomers have developed techniques of calibration of large reflector antennas with radio astronomical methods, but these have not been comprehensively described. This text aims to fill this gap, taking a practical approach to the characterisation of antennas. All calculations and results in the form of tables and figures have been made with Mathematica by Wolfram Research. The reader can use the procedures for the implementation of his own input data.
