Download or read book High Power Microwave Tubes written by Vishal Kesari and published by Morgan & Claypool Publishers. This book was released on 2018-02-20 with total page 184 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Our aim in this book is to present a bird's-eye view of microwave tubes (MWTs) which continue to be important despite competitive incursions from solid-state devices (SSDs). We have presented a broad and introductory survey which we hope the readers would be encouraged to read rather than going through lengthier books, and subsequently explore the field of MWTs further in selected areas of relevance to their respective interests. We hope that the present book would motivate newcomers to pursue research in MWTs and apprise them as well as decision makers of the salient features and prospects of as well as the trends of progress in MWTs. The scope of ever expanding applications of MWTs in the high power and high frequency regime will sustain and intensify the research and development in MWTs in coming years.

Book Millimeter Wave Gyrotron Traveling Wave Tube Amplifiers

Download or read book Millimeter Wave Gyrotron Traveling Wave Tube Amplifiers written by Chao-Hai Du and published by Springer. This book was released on 2014-05-29 with total page 200 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A gyrotron traveling-wave amplifier (gyro-TWT) with the high-power and broad-band capabilities is considered as a turn-on key for next generation high-resolution radar. The book presents the most advanced theory, methods and physics in a gyro-TWT. The most challenging problem of instability competition has been for the first time addressed in a focused and systematic way and reported via concise states and vivid pictures. The book is likely to meet the interest of researchers and engineers in radar and microwave technology, who would like to study the gyro-TWTs and to promote its application in millimeter-wave radars. Chao-Hai Du and Pu-Kun Liu are both professors at Peking University.

Book MICROWAVE DEVICES AND CIRCUIT DESIGN

Download or read book MICROWAVE DEVICES AND CIRCUIT DESIGN written by GANESH PRASAD SRIVASTAVA and published by PHI Learning Pvt. Ltd.. This book was released on 2006-01-01 with total page 488 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This textbook presents a unified treatment of theory, analysis and design of microwave devices and circuits. It is designed to address the needs of undergraduate students of electronics and communi-cation engineering for a course in microwave engineering as well as those of the students pursuing M.Sc. courses in electronics science. The main objective is to provide students with a thorough under-standing of microwave devices and circuits, and to acquaint them with some of the methods used in circuit analysis and design. Several types of planar transmission lines such as stripline, microstrip, slot line and a few other structures have been explained. The important concepts of scattering matrix and Smith chart related to design problems have been discussed in detail. The performance and geometry of microwave transistors-both bipolar and field effect-have been analysed. Microwave passive components such as couplers, power dividers, attenuators, phase shifters and circulators have been comprehensively dealt with. Finally, the analysis and design aspects of microwave transistor amplifiers and oscillators are presented using the scattering parameters technique. Numerous solved problems and chapter-end questions are included for practice and reinforcement of the concepts.

Book Capture Pumping Technology

Download or read book Capture Pumping Technology written by K. Welch and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2001-10-11 with total page 384 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is a practical textbook written for use by engineers, scientists and technicians. It is not intended to be a rigorous scientific treatment of the subject material, as this would fill several volumes. Rather, it introduces the reader to the fundamentals of the subject material, and provides sufficient references for an in-depth study of the subject by the interested technologist. The author has a lifetime teaching credential in the California Community College System. Also, he has taught technical courses with the American Vacuum Society for about 35 years. Students attending many of these classes have backgrounds varying from high-school graduates to Ph.D.s in technical disciplines. This is an extremely difficult class profile to teach. This book still endeavors to reach this same audience. Basic algebra is required to master most of the material. But, the calculus is used in derivation of some of the equations. The author risks use of the first person I, instead of the author, and you instead of the reader. Both are thought to be in poor taste when writing for publication in the scientific community. However, I am writing this book for you because the subject is exciting, and I enjoy teaching you, perhaps, something new. The book is written more in the vein of a one-on-one discussion with you, rather than the author lecturing to the reader. There are anecdotes, and examples of some failures and successes I have had over the last forty-five years in vacuum related activities, I'll try not to understate either. Lastly, there are a few equations which if memorised will help you as a vacuum technician. There are less than a dozen equations and half that many rules of thumb to memorize, which will be drawn on time an again in designing, operating and trouble-shooting any vacuum system.
