Book Data Acquisition Systems

Download or read book Data Acquisition Systems written by Maurizio Di Paolo Emilio and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-03-21 with total page 150 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book describes the fundamentals of data acquisition systems, how they enable users to sample signals that measure real physical conditions and convert the resulting samples into digital, numeric values that can be analyzed by a computer. The author takes a problem-solving approach to data acquisition, providing the tools engineers need to use the concepts introduced. Coverage includes sensors that convert physical parameters to electrical signals, signal conditioning circuitry to convert sensor signals into a form that can be converted to digital values and analog-to-digital converters, which convert conditioned sensor signals to digital values. Readers will benefit from the hands-on approach, culminating with data acquisition projects, including hardware and software needed to build data acquisition systems.

Book Masters Theses in the Pure and Applied Sciences

Download or read book Masters Theses in the Pure and Applied Sciences written by W. H. Shafer and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-03-14 with total page 307 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Masters Theses in the Pure and Applied Sciences was first conceived, published, and dis seminated by the Center for Information and Numerical Data Analysis and Synthesis (CINDAS) * at Purdue University in 1957, starting its coverage of theses with the academic year 1955. Beginning with Volume 13, the printing and dissemination phases of the ac tivity were transferred to University Microfilms/Xerox of Ann Arbor, Michigan, with the thought that such an arrangement would be more beneficial to the academic and general scientific and technical community. After five years of this joint undertaking we had concluded that it was in the interest of all concerned if the printing and distribution of the volume were handled by an international publishing house to assure improved service and broader dissemination. Hence, starting with Volume 18, Masters Theses in the Pure and Applied Sciences has been disseminated on a worldwide basis by Plenum Publishing Corporation of New York, and in the same year the coverage was broadened to include Canadian universities. All back issues can also be ordered from Plenum. We have reported in Volume 24 (thesis year 1979) a total of 10,033 theses titles from 26 Canadian and 215 United States universities. We are sure that this broader base for theses titles reported will greatly enhance the value of this important annual reference work. While Volume 24 reports these submitted in 1979, on occasion, certain universities do report theses submitted in previous years but not reported at the time.

Book Microcomputer Design and Applications

Download or read book Microcomputer Design and Applications written by Samuel C. Lee and published by Academic Press. This book was released on 2014-05-12 with total page 359 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Microcomputer Design and Applications provides information pertinent to the fundamental aspects of microcomputer design and applications. This book presents a design approach for multiple-processor computers. Organized into two parts encompassing 16 chapters, this book begins with an overview of a number system and supporting computational algorithms, which is especially useful for microcomputer control and digital signal processing. This text then presents an integrated technical and management-based method for developing microprocessor software. Other chapters consider file structures for a small-scale database system designed for microprocessor implementation and present the formulation of file structures for a typical microprocessor/flopping disk system. This book discusses as well the proposed solution to specify a high-level, machine-oriented, structured programming language suitable for general microprocessors and to implement a portable compiler for this language. The final chapter deals with a distributed processing system for non-invasive cardiac surveillance. This book is a valuable resource for engineers and computer scientists.

Book Real time System Design Environment for Multi channel High speed Data Acquisition System and Pattern Recognition

Download or read book Real time System Design Environment for Multi channel High speed Data Acquisition System and Pattern Recognition written by and published by . This book was released on 1999 with total page 8 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Design Real-Time 2.0 software environment provides the user with a set of tools to create a real-time fully programmable system which can sustain a rate of several MHz from multi-channel inputs, can extend processing time in a pipeline stage and can provide a result within a few hundred ns. The tool set allows the user to (a) create applications of different sizes with different throughput and filtering algorithms; (b) select the processor speed, internal bus width, lookup tables, number of input and output result bits for each set of data received at each channel for each algorithm execution; (c) simulate a specific parallel-processing system for a given algorithm on different sets of data; (d) monitor the system in real time via an RS232 interface; (e) create a hardware component (FPGA or ASIC) by means of interfacing to the Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools. The advantage of these tools is that of allowing simulation, before construction, of an entire programmable high-speed data acquisition and processing system, and selection of the processor speed, bus width and real-time algorithm which is most cost effective for a specific application where general-purpose processors fail in speed and performance. Benefits derived from the use of the novel architecture and cost comparisons with respect to similar designs are also provided.
