But this is also a coming-of-age story where we see through Nico’s experience what it means to grow up in a country where nothing is allowed and almost any move can feel like an earnest act of resistance.

Though they had mans outward appearance, most were subhuman; some were superhuman. Evil intent rested with the superhuman; but, to them, the intent was not evil, just inevitable. Only those carried upon the waves of the special light had the energy to combat the evil intent, and then it was only when they came together.
