Berg, member of G.A.R. [was] born 1832 in Pennsylvania, taken in 1833 to Ohio, moved in 1860 to Wayne County, Illinois where he reared a large family." "About 1856 David married Elizabeth Ann Neisley in Clark county Ohio....Elizabeth passed away either in 1860 or 1861...there is no record of her burial place..."--P.79. He married Sarah Ellen Travers in the fall of 1865 in Mt. Erie, Wayne County, Illinois. She died 21 December 1880 in Mt. Erie. On 6 April 1884 David married his third wife Mary Jane McCleary Daniels, a widow, who was born 10 April 1852 in Wabash County, Illinois. She died 11 December 1917 and David died 7 September 1916, both in Mt. Erie, Illinois, where they are buried in the Old Yohe Cemetery. Descendants lived in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Illinois, Arkansas, Indiana, Washington, Missoure, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Louisiana, Arizona, California, Utah and elsewhere.
