Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Have you ever wondered how the Lord sustained Martin Luther through one of the most personally and spiritually intense times in the history of Christendom? And does God still do this today? The answer is yes! They Need Not Go Away is a practical book identifying and teaching modern-day Millennials and Gen Zers about Lutheran spirituality. It offers prayer practices designed and applied by Martin Luther, the Reformer, for modern families, individuals, adults, and teenagers. These spiritual practices are also applied to the modern Christian. To support these practices and the Lutheran contribution to Christian spirituality, this volume traces the influences of Martin Luther’s piety from pre-Reformation influencers to Dr. Luther as he navigated the tremendous social, cultural, and ecclesiastical pressures of his time. His spirituality is then traced through the next generations of Orthodoxy and Pietism identifying the shifts away from the affective aspects of Lutheran spirituality and elevation of the academic and more cognitive characteristics received in the twentieth century. The goal is to recapture the wholistic spirituality including the cognitive, affective, and experiential features. These are still useful in the hands of the Lord for today’s believers.

Chairman Mao Zhongqun once remarked, "If Fotile were to preserve only one thing, it would be our culture!" Fotile Culture places a strong emphasis on the belief that running a successful business is fundamentally about being a good person. The key to an enterprise's success lies in the success of its people, which encompasses their integrity, the enterprise's values, and the quality of its products. These three aspects are intertwined, with integrity being the cornerstone that determines both corporate values and product excellence. This book is the result of the authors' extensive interviews with hundreds of Fotile's top executives and employees. Over the span of two years, they meticulously gathered and curated millions of words of original corporate materials. From topics ranging from management, innovation, quality, and service to talent development, this book presents a comprehensive portrayal of Fotile's enduring business philosophy, foundational principles, and practical systems that have stood the test of time.

Book Kierkegaard for the Church

    Book Details:
  • Author : Ronald F. Marshall
  • Publisher : Wipf and Stock Publishers
  • Release : 2013-08-30
  • ISBN : 1620323974
  • Pages : 395 pages

Download or read book Kierkegaard for the Church written by Ronald F. Marshall and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2013-08-30 with total page 395 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Most of what is written on Kierkegaard today is for the college classroom and academic conferences. The guiding question of this book is that if Kierkegaard's words about Christianity are true, how do they change the way we learn and practice the Christian faith today? This book is an answer to that question. It does not enter into an extended critical discussion over the truth of Kierkegaard's ideas. Instead it just believes what Kierkegaard said and runs with it. It does that by showing how his ideas change our understanding of Christian identity, suffering and illness, worship and preaching, the Bible, baptism, prayer, marriage and divorce, criticism, and the Christian minister. Interspersed are many quotations from Martin Luther, whose thought significantly shaped Kierkegaard's. At the end of the book is a hefty collection of sermons to show how all of this can be preached in the church. What Kierkegaard for the Church adds to our understanding of Kierkegaard is the place of the church in his thought. Because of his criticisms of the Danish state church and his stress on the need for the single individual to appropriate Christian teachings, it could be imagined that he rejected the church. But that would be to throw the baby out with the bath. The fact is that Kierkegaard remained a loyal son of the church even while he attacked it. And he did this only so he could strengthen what he loved.
