Book The Cursed Life of an Ordinary Man

Download or read book The Cursed Life of an Ordinary Man written by Reg Repardsa and published by . This book was released on 2008 with total page 76 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The challenges we face in life whether it is to cope with supporting yourself or your family would always endure a sense of doubt. No one is sure about the consequences of their decision. The moment we experience a problem or a situation, we depend solely on our instincts to survive embarrassment. The character in the story embellished a sense of self-preservation in everything he had done. He deliberately refused the idea of failing, denying to himself what the consequences of dealing with the problem honestly would be. The fear inhibited his senses of dealing with challenges so that he won't be judged. In a realistic way the character that I had deliberately refused to name is construed as a clueless self-destructive person with a sense of purpose. The method of instilling a sense of mystery is to allow the reader to empathise with him not to judge. The cursed life or an ordinary man is a story that brings to the surface how easy the path of good fortune changes. We should try and be honest and truthful. Never to judge or be judged. The security he refers to is his family. He wanted so much to win the approval of his family especially his brother Joe whom he had felt had lost faith in his integrity to speak the truth. He seemed to produce this false identity synonymous to Walter Mitty. Psychologically he pans out as a well-balanced young man with an over rated imagination but on the other hand he possesses an evil and unimaginable streak that causes chaos and harm to anyone that crosses his path, The idiosyncrasies shown by the character eliminates the idea of empathising with his plight but instead shows contempt and anger, Do we feel that the hapless character is nothing more than a waste of space and deserves life's upsets? The idea of the story is not to judge but to incorporate a sense of understanding on how we perceive our lives. We all make mistakes in our lives and we deal with them the best way we can. The turn around of circumstances implemented in the stage by stage account of his life incorporated a consistency that eventually implodes into disaster. Being honest and truthful played a major part in the story. It was the only thing that was missing in his life. The true analogy of the concept of honesty is far removed from the importance of living a balanced life. We have the ability to speak the truth but fail to use it. No body wants to know the truth about them because it hurts them too much so they accept people to lie. The cursed life of an ordinary man is an indication of human failure to be honest and true to everyone and above all to yourself. Enjoy!

Book excerpt: This book is not one of those "poor-me" books about addiction struggles. This is a compilation of life events. There are serious incidents of violence and child abuse. There are also stories of substance abuse and how that evolved over time. There are examples of mental illness which touched both myself and family. Copious illustrations of sex, both devious and a collection of many encounters and the effects this had on career decisions and the overall impact on relationships. The consequences of death and abandonment. Fear and numerous fights, evolving from fists to knives, to guns and subsequent near death events, the survival of which can only be explained as supernatural, to include both demons and angels. After a couple of failed marriages, he finally met and married his "Guardian Angel". This is a compilation of his dangerous, yet interesting life events.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In writing this book, I found direction and guidance from God, in the name of Jesus, by the Holy Spirit of God. I always knew there was someone watching over me. It wasnt until my, then, spouse gave me the Bible to read that I gained understanding about life through reading Gods Word. God drew me in quietly and with a loving heart. He spoke to me through the words written in His Will, the Holy Bible. It is my hope this book will be a guidepost in the maturation of Gods children. Throughout life, the enemy comes to kill, steal, and destroy, but Jesus came that we might have life life more abundantly. God is love and self love is very important because hurt people, hurt people. Romans 8 helps Gods children walk in the Spirit of God, and I hope this manuscript will offer a framework for our new nature in Christ Jesus for Believers. Ephesians 4: (11) It was He who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers. (12) to prepare Gods people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up (13) until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

Book excerpt: With all the wit and brilliance of Chekhov, a distinctive collection of lyrical stories from Sait Faik Abasıyanık, “Turkey’s greatest short story writer” (The Guardian) Sait Faik Abasıyanık’s fiction traces the interior lives of strangers in his native Istanbul: ancient coffeehouse proprietors, priests, dream-addled fishermen, poets of the Princes’ Isles, lovers and wandering minstrels of another time. The stories in A Useless Man are shaped by Sait Faik’s political autobiography – his resistance to social convention, the relentless pace of westernization, and the ethnic cleansing of his city – as he conjures the varied textures of life in Istanbul and its surrounding islands. The calm surface of these stories might seem to signal deference to the new Republic’s restrictions on language and culture, but Abasıyanık’s prose is crafted deceptively, with dark, subversive undercurrents. “Reading these stories by Sait Faik feels like finding the secret doors inside of poems,” Rivka Galchen wrote. Beautifully translated by Maureen Freely and Alexander Dawe, A Useless Man is the most comprehensive collection of Sait Faik’s stories in English to date.
