Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The book “The cross of karma: Comment on Papyrus Oxy V 840” comments Papyrus Oxyrhynchus 840 and describes in the following shortly the possibilities and the impact of internal cleaning for ascending on the path to God. Papyrus Oxyrhynchus 840 is a small piece of papyrus bearing 45 lines of text written shortly after the life of Jesus. It was found by Bernard Pyne Grennfell and Arthur Surridge Hunt and is called an apocryphal gospel. You can find the original of the manuscript under Signature Ms. Gr. Th. G 11 in the Bodleian Library in Oxford/England. The concept of karma is explained as synonym to that of sin, but without adding the poison of guilt, which serves as a glue to bind you to your sins, to bind you to your cross. Living a natural and humble life leads to sanity. Sanity leads to God. If you accept that you are bound to sin, that means to err and to collect karma, you can clean yourself from that karma if you do not stick to guilt. With guilt, you don't solve your karma, with the cross of your karma, you will not ascend to God. Jesus cannot take your sins away, he can only help you to solve them yourself. Since it is your soul that wants to learn the lesson of life. And it is your life.

Book America s Racial Karma

Download or read book America s Racial Karma written by Larry Ward and published by Parallax Press. This book was released on 2020-09-15 with total page 147 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Immediate, illuminating, and hopeful: this is the key set of talks given by leading Zen Buddhist teacher Larry Ward, PhD, on breaking America’s cycle of racial trauma. As an 11-year-old child, Zen Buddhist teacher Larry Ward was shot at by the police for playing baseball in the wrong spot. As an adult, he experienced the trauma of having his home firebombed by racists. At Plum Village Monastery in France—the home in exile of his teacher, Vietnamese peace activist and Zen teacher Thich Nhat Hanh—Dr. Ward found a way to heal. In these short reflective essays, he offers his insights on the effects of racial constructs and answers the question: How do we free ourselves from our repeated cycles of anger, denial, bitterness, pain, fear, violence? “I am a drop in the ocean, but I’m also the ocean,” he says. “I’m a drop in America, but I’m also America. Every pain, every confusion, every good and every bad and ugly of America is in me. And as I transform myself and heal and take care of myself, I’m very conscious that I’m healing and transforming and taking care of America. I say this for American cynics, but this is also true globally. It’s for real.” Here, Ward looks at the causes and conditions that have led us to our current state and finds, hidden in the crisis, a profound opportunity to reinvent what it means to be a human being. This is an invitation to transform America’s racial karma.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What is life for? What may give it meaning? Does it have any meaning at all? A sage in ancient Israel brooded over these questions. In ancient India, too, such questions drove a despairing warrior to seek answers from his divine friend Krishna. The thoughts of the sage became the wisdom book Ecclesiastes; those of Krishna, the Bhagavad-gītā. Their wisdom speaks to our deepest concerns. In Vanity Karma, wisdom meets wisdom as these two perennial classics come together, both offering us profound understanding. And a deep and authentic spiritual understanding, we may find, can infuse our lives with meaning and with joy. Vanity Karma brings you on a journey through the full text of Ecclesiastes, a journey illuminated by traditional biblical scholarship, insights from the Bhagavad-gītā, a dash of autobiography, and a steady spiritual focus.

This book skips the usual "forgive and forget" mentality and teaches its readers how to follow a guide intended to expose issues like never before. Are you waiting for Karma to visit someone? It is simplistic but advanced in theory and written by a veteran of exposing the truth. Believe it or not, the second part of this book details the missing secrets of using a BLOG to amplify your investigation results to expose your concerns to the world. This book provides the most up-to-date resource for 2010, making a blog work to its fullest potential and it guarantees immediate search engine optimization (SEO) for free. Anyone can use these techniques including blogging for success and to get even, no previous experience necessary. So go ahead and forgive, but get back We live in a complicated world where people do bad things to others for no explainable reason. My experience as a sheriff's deputy, white-collar crimes detective, private investigator, personal and corporate intelligence specialist have given me a unique view into the way people treat each other. My own life experiences have given me a unique view on society and some of my really negative experiences have lead me to think, "I wish I could speed up Karma" on a particular person, company or organization. I have met many people in life who have also been wronged for reasons such as: cheating spouse, bad relationship, bad business partners, embezzlement, theft, bad business competitor, sexual deviant, personal enemy, protective parent, etc. While people don't readily admit it, most of us believe or hope for Karma to come around. That is where I come in. I have developed a peculiar playbook that can be used by anyone to evaluate a person in question, perform a detailed analysis of their problems and weaknesses, undertake a plan of action to expose their issues, make their problems evident to them (and everyone else), cause them problems and speed our little friend Karma along. I give a unique perspective because I have used the techniques that I detail in this book many, many times for various reasons. I have had unparalleled results and put some really bad people out of commission. Maybe you are reading this book out of curiosity or you may be one of Karma's Helpers. This book contains actual stories about getting even that are strange and unusual.

Book The Cross

  • Author : Robin M. Jensen
  • Publisher : Harvard University Press

Download or read book The Cross written by Robin M. Jensen and published by Harvard University Press. This book was released on 2017-04-17 with total page 281 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The cross stirs intense feelings among Christians as well as non-Christians. Robin Jensen takes readers on an intellectual and spiritual journey through the two-thousand-year evolution of the cross as an idea and an artifact, illuminating the controversies—along with the forms of devotion—this central symbol of Christianity inspires. Jesus’s death on the cross posed a dilemma for Saint Paul and the early Church fathers. Crucifixion was a humiliating form of execution reserved for slaves and criminals. How could their messiah and savior have been subjected to such an ignominious death? Wrestling with this paradox, they reimagined the cross as a triumphant expression of Christ’s sacrificial love and miraculous resurrection. Over time, the symbol’s transformation raised myriad doctrinal questions, particularly about the crucifix—the cross with the figure of Christ—and whether it should emphasize Jesus’s suffering or his glorification. How should Jesus’s body be depicted: alive or dead, naked or dressed? Should it be shown at all? Jensen’s wide-ranging study focuses on the cross in painting and literature, the quest for the “true cross” in Jerusalem, and the symbol’s role in conflicts from the Crusades to wars of colonial conquest. The Cross also reveals how Jews and Muslims viewed the most sacred of all Christian emblems and explains its role in public life in the West today.
