Book The Complete Starter s Book to CPAP Success

Download or read book The Complete Starter s Book to CPAP Success written by W. A. STEPHENS MHA and published by . This book was released on 2017-03-12 with total page 30 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I wrote this (e-book/paperback edition) to help all of the people out there with a CPAP machine, or in the process of getting a CPAP machine. I have been working for over 20 years with CPAP patients and their families. I have been fortunate to setup over 1000 patients in their home, my office, and on occasion in the hospital. In my opinion there are numerous patients that are not getting the correct initial therapy, or maintenance therapy they deserve during their treatment of their sleep apnea. The primary reasons, I have noticed are the following: 1) There are many home equipment companies that just want to make a buck; patient care is not there number one goal. 2) There are companies that don't have the experienced staff needed to manage CPAP therapy. Minimally, a trained Respiratory Therapist or Registered Nurse is the only person(s) that should be setting up your CPAP. 3) Lots of the patients do not completely understand how dangerous untreated sleep apnea can be. (Some) primary doctors are not explaining the seriousness of sleep apnea effectively, or unable to explain it to the patients in a manner they (the patient) would truly understand.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Linda MecklerThere are over eighteen million people who have Sleep Apnea. I have had Sleep Apnea for several years. I have had several sleep studies. I sleep with a full-face mask. That is my picture on the cover of this book hooked up for a Sleep Study. I do not like sleeping with a CPAP Mask. It is uncomfortable and it interferes at times with my sleep but I would rather be uncomfortable at times than sleep without my CPAP Mask. This book will give you a step by step program from the time you have symptoms, to your doctor, sleep study and ending with the CPAP Machine. My StoryTen years ago, when I started to wake up during the night gasping for breath I didn't know what was happening to me. It took me six months before I reported this to my doctor. I had medical insurance through the County and it wasn't very good insurance but I was happy to have it. The doctor said, "you need a Sleep Study and possibly and CPAP Machine which are very expensive." It took me a year of appeals to finally receive my Sleep Study and then my CPAP Machine. There wasn't any charge to me for the Sleep Study or the CPAP Machine since I had the County Medical Insurance. Thank you County Medical. When you use a CPAP Machine nightly you are entitled to a reduction in your electric bill.INTRODUCTIONSleep Apnea is not fun to sleep with. It creates problems with your sleeping partner, yourself, and can be easily diagnosed and treated in adults and children.I am not a doctor or a sleep study specialist, or a CPAP Machine professional. I am only a person who has Sleep Apnea. If you have any questions go to your doctor.

Book The Quick and Easy Sleep Apnea Book

Download or read book The Quick and Easy Sleep Apnea Book written by Gautam Soparkar, MD and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2010-08-26 with total page 85 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: If you have sleep apnea, think you might have it, or know someone who does, this award-winning book is for you! Sleep apnea is a relatively new subject in health care. It is very common and is associated with many other medical conditions, particularly high blood pressure, heart disease, and strokes. However, awareness about sleep apnea is lacking, and misconceptions are common. It is very easy to pass off the signs and symptoms of sleep apnea. Most people with this condition don’t even know they have it. This is very unfortunate because effective, even life-transforming, treatment is available. The consequences of untreated sleep apnea are wide-ranging and can be devastating. This book is a concise, illustrated, practical, and readable guide to this common and potentially serious condition. The reader will learn about when to suspect sleep apnea, what other conditions are linked to it, why it is important to detect it, how to get tested for it, and what to expect if treatment is required. The book is written by a doctor who is involved in the care of patients with sleep apnea and many of the health problems that go with it.

Sleep Apnea Could Be Killing You... Sleep Apnea is widely prevalent, affecting 1 in 15 people. As well, it is VERY often either left poorly treated, or not at all. When either happens, a cascade of other diseases frequently exists. These diseases, (High Blood Pressure, Diabetes, Strokes, and so many more) are often treated symptomatically without treating the actual cause. Sleep apnea can be the reason for so many of these diseases. The amount of treatment options is extensive, with only a select few that lead the way. Some suggest CPAP, some suggest oral appliances, and some will try everything available with little success. You've heard it all before, we need to get a quality night sleep of 6-8 hours to function optimally (about a 3rd of our lives). If you have been diagnosed with sleep apnea, you need to get treated...FAST. This is Where This Book Will Help You or a Loved One Immensely! We'll go over the EXACT treatment options available, from LEAST invasive to MOST invasive. Along the way we'll debunk the options that actually work (and the ones that are crap). We'll also cover some of the future treatments only in this sixth edition. Book CPAP and Sleep Apnea A User s Manual by a User

Download or read book CPAP and Sleep Apnea A User s Manual by a User written by Bruce Stein and published by . This book was released on 2011-01-17 with total page 87 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: CPAP and Sleep Apnea A User's Manual By a User is for individuals who have been diagnosed with sleep apnea and use either CPAP or BiPAP. It is a very practical guide to improve the ease of day to day use including travel. After over 11 years of using BiPAP, the author used his medical and research training and the inventiveness of his profession (patent law) to solve most of the same problems any user encounters which makes the individuals daily use much easier and more therapeutic. You don't have to reinvent the best way to use your equipment, just follow his advice. The very useful topics he covers includes getting the mask to fit properly; preventing the tube from getting caught in the sheets and bedding; improving the method of connecting the mask to the tube to the point it is so easy it can be done with one hand; providing a list of over-the-counter pharmaceuticals that help you breath better when using CPAP; providing a check list for travel of items not used at home but may be needed when traveling so use is as easy as at home regardless of the lodging; discussion of humidifier use and tube sheaths; developing a method to ensuring that mask and humidifier parts are not left at home when traveling; suggestions on washing your mask pieces and tube; explaining why to save old tubes and masks for pieces; disclosing how to have your CPAP operate normally during power outages and explaining why it is necessary to keep good records. In addition, the author includes many pictures of how he uses his system when traveling based on his experience in about 35 states as well as foreign travel in the UK, France and New Zealand/Australia as well as on two cruises. An added extra is the explanation of how the "quickie" nap refreshes tired sleep apnea individuals and can be worked into a daily routine. It is not a book about the medical aspects of sleep apnea nor about the technical aspects of how CPAP works. It is a book for those who have been diagnosed with sleep apnea and for whom CPAP or BiPAP was prescribed as the recommended treatment.
