Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The latter part of the 1600's in Scotland has become known in the annals of time as the 'Killing times'. The Oath and The Covenant is a story based on the lives of these brave Scottish Presbyterian Covenanters, their object being to release their beloved Scotland from the strangling grasp of an English king, who claimed he had a 'Divine Right' to rule both church and state. The Covenanters never relinquished their determination to gain what they viewed as a God given right to worship freely. They endured inhumane treatment leveled upon them by King Charles II's armies in his attempt to subjugate them. John Whitelaw, the Martyr of Monkland, was one of many who was torn from the bosom of his family and finally gave his life to gain religious freedom. The story continues based upon the many accounts of those who were banished to the Americas. It was in America that they found friends among the Abeniki tribe of Indians, who taught the Scots needed skills to survive in this new land and drew them into their culture. They also found precious religious freedom to worship according to the dictates of their hearts-and not that of a king.

Book Bob S Trip Through Manhood

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Bob Brand was being raised by drunken, brutal parents until he was fifteen years old. He had a paper route, like many young boys. One night, he refused to give his father the money he collected to pay his paper bill and was beaten badly by his father. He escaped from the home and went to see an elderly doctor on his route to get help. Dr. Ted Woods sewed him up and called the police. His father was arrested and given a year in jail and was allowed three days to get his affairs in order. He and his wife fled, and Dr. Woods gained custody of Bob in a hearing. Dr. Woods hired Julia Finney to be his housekeeper. Julia had a daughter, Martha, who was born when Julia was fifteen years old. Both Julia and Martha suffered feelings of guilt and shame due to Julias background. Bobs presence in his new family somehow seemed to knit the four people into a happy, loving family and cured the feelings of shame, guilt, and inferiority held by both Julia and Martha. As Dr. Woods remarked, Bob provided the glue to make them a happy, loving family. He also said Bob had gifts he was unaware he had. Whenever he was near, held, or kissed a person, they experienced great warmth and love. He had the same effect on animals, which had no fear of him and wanted to get close to him, much to the amazement of Dr. Woods and his family and bystanders. Martha fell in love with Bob, as did Julia, but Julia knew the difference in the ages between Bob and her made it impossible for them to ever marry. Bob fell in love with both Julia and Martha. Martha fell deeply in love with Bob and constantly tried to seduce him, believing when he did, he would marry her, even as young as they were. This book is about the life of Bob and how he reacted when he lost first his wife, Martha; his second wife, Julia; and finally his housekeeper, Peggy. He, finally, with the help of Peggys daughter, Cynthia, discovers his hidden gift.

It scripturally proves that Nero was not the biblical fulfillment of the Antichrist. It chronicles Israels disobedience and Gods plan of national restoration for Israel through the Tribulation process. It also discusses the next prophetic event for the church, which is the Rapture, followed by the Judgment Seat of Christ. It culminates in evidence that we are living in the Last of the Last Days, before Jesus Christ returns to Earth.

Download or read book The COVENANT BOOK written by Bruce Taylor and published by Outskirts Press. This book was released on 2015-03-30 with total page 508 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Finally, an understanding of spiritual reality for the non-religious….. The Covenant Book is sure to change the lives of multitudes around the world through a unique and fresh approach to spiritual understanding. Bruce Taylor, one of today’s astute spiritual teachers issues a timely and sobering call back to the understanding of humanity’s fallen spiritual state, and the Redemption provided to correct it. In The Covenant Book, Taylor skillfully blends gifted teaching, popular culture, science, and spiritual tutoring 101 into a message revealing the necessity of profound introspection regarding one’s world view and man’s eternal destiny. It is a blueprint for life through practical understanding of spiritual reality. It delivers, and it does so through exploring the revolutionary way God reveals His Love for Man via a Redemption plan of Grace. Taylor compellingly argues for getting to know God through approaching Him in the way God provides via Covenant and not the usual potpourri of man made religions. He clearly reveals how the average person who knows nothing about God or religion can grasp the reality of where God is, what He is doing, and how each of us can experience Him in our lives today. Masterfully capturing the nature of God and His dealings with man through a unique behind-the–scenes approach, he provides a fresh view of how God sees man today through love and redemption. It’s a message of great hope for humanity.

Book The Complete Works of C H Spurgeon Volume 33

Download or read book The Complete Works of C H Spurgeon Volume 33 written by Spurgeon, Charles and published by Delmarva Publications, Inc.. This book was released on 2015-03-26 with total page 1033 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Volume 33 Sermons 1938-2000 Charles Spurgeon (19 June 1834 – 31 January 1892) is one of the church’s most famous preachers and Christianity’s foremost prolific writers. Called the “Prince of Preachers,” he was one of England's most notable ministers for most of the second half of the nineteenth century, and he still remains highly influential among Christians of different denominations today. His sermons have spread all over the world, and his many printed works have been cherished classics for decades. In his lifetime, Spurgeon preached to more than 10 million people, often up to ten times each week. He was the pastor of the congregation of the New Park Street Chapel (later the Metropolitan Tabernacle) in London for 38 years. He was an inexhaustible author of various kinds of works including sermons, commentaries, an autobiography, as well as books on prayer, devotionals, magazines, poetry, hymns and more. Spurgeon was known to produce powerful sermons of penetrating thought and divine inspiration, and his oratory and writing skills held his audiences spellbound. Many Christians have discovered Spurgeon's messages to be among the best in Christian literature. Edward Walford wrote in Old and New London: Volume 6 (1878) quoting an article from the Times regarding one of Spurgeon’s meetings at Surrey: “Fancy a congregation consisting of 10,000 souls, streaming into the hall, mounting the galleries, humming, buzzing, and swarming—a mighty hive of bees—eager to secure at first the best places, and, at last, any place at all. After waiting more than half an hour—for if you wish to have a seat you must be there at least that space of time in advance—Mr. Spurgeon ascended his tribune. To the hum, and rush, and trampling of men, succeeded a low, concentrated thrill and murmur of devotion, which seemed to run at once, like an electric current, through the breast of every one present, and by this magnetic chain the preacher held us fast bound for about two hours. It is not my purpose to give a summary of his discourse. It is enough to say of his voice, that its power and volume are sufficient to reach every one in that vast assembly; of his language, that it is neither high-flown nor homely; of his style, that it is at times familiar, at times declamatory, but always happy, and often eloquent; of his doctrine, that neither the 'Calvinist' nor the 'Baptist' appears in the forefront of the battle which is waged by Mr. Spurgeon with relentless animosity, and with Gospel weapons, against irreligion, cant, hypocrisy, pride, and those secret bosom-sins which so easily beset a man in daily life; and to sum up all in a word, it is enough to say of the man himself, that he impresses you with a perfect conviction of his sincerity.” More than a hundred years after his death, Charles Spurgeon’s legacy continues to effectively inspire the church around the world. For this reason, Delmarva Publications has chosen to publish the complete works of Charles Spurgeon.

Book The Gospel According to ANE Covenant Understanding

Download or read book The Gospel According to ANE Covenant Understanding written by Dave Schoch and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2014-06-10 with total page 545 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Most Christians in the Church in the West do not know about Ancient Near Eastern (ANE) covenants, nor do they understand that the covenants God has made with mankind are based in form and function on ANE covenants and their governing principles of operation. Scholars and theologians know that the greater understanding we have of the historical and cultural roots of Christianity, the more accurately we can interpret the New Testament Scriptures. This work brings to the forefront of Christian theology some discoveries within theological fields of research and study that affects honest interpretation of the NT Scriptures. Such information demands dissemination throughout the grassroots levels of the Church, particularly for pastors, preachers, Bible teachers, and Christian academia. Understanding ANE covenants and their operating principles helps us to develop a more accurate and complete Biblical Hermeneutic and, more importantly, a more precisely tuned theology.
