Book A Wind tunnel Test Technique for Measuring the Dynamic Rotary Stability Derivatives Including the Cross Derivatives at High Mach Numbers

Download or read book A Wind tunnel Test Technique for Measuring the Dynamic Rotary Stability Derivatives Including the Cross Derivatives at High Mach Numbers written by Benjamin H. Beam and published by . This book was released on 1955 with total page 44 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A method is described for measuring the dynamic stability derivatives of a model airplane in a wind tunnel. The characteristics features of this system are that single-degree-of-freedom oscillations were used to obtain combinations of rolling, yawing, and pitching motions; that the oscillations were excited and controlled by velocity feedback which permitted operation under conditions unfavorable for more conventional types of oscillatory testing; and that data processing was greatly simplified by using analog computer elements in the strain-gage circuitry.

Book Aeroballistic Evaluation and Computer Stability Analysis of the U S Navy 20 millimeter General Purpose Projectile

Download or read book Aeroballistic Evaluation and Computer Stability Analysis of the U S Navy 20 millimeter General Purpose Projectile written by Frank J. Regan and published by . This book was released on 1971 with total page 122 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The report presents the results of ballistics range and wind-tunnel measurements of the static force and moment and the pitch-damping, roll-damping and Magnus moments for a General Purpose 20-Millimeter Projectile. Data are presented for a Smooth and Basic configuration. These aerodynamic data are used in a special digital computer program to rapidly assess the stability of the projectiles over various mission profiles. The normal-force and pitching-moment derivatives are evaluated, theoretically, by Wood's method and compared with the measurements.

This book was released on 1958 with total page 26 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The method of data reduction employed for dynamic stability wind-tunnel tests is discussed and suggestions to improve the quality of the data are made.

Book Some Measurements of Time and Space Correlation in Wind Tunnel

Download or read book Some Measurements of Time and Space Correlation in Wind Tunnel written by A. Favre and published by . This book was released on 1955 with total page 28 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Abstract: Results are presented of research obtained by means of an apparatus for measurement of time and space correlation and of a spectral analyser in the study of the longitudinal component of turbulence velocities in a wind tunnel downstream of a grid of meshes. Application to the case of a flat-plate boundary layer is illustrated. These researches were made at the Laboratoire de Mécanique de l'Atmosphère de l'I. M. F. M. for the O.N.E.R.A.
