Book Machining Data for Numerical Control Drilling

Download or read book Machining Data for Numerical Control Drilling written by Michael Field and published by . This book was released on 1966 with total page 72 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This report presents an extensive set of machining data selected from six USAF Machinability Reports. Data are tabulated and arranged in formats including machining variables such as tool material, tool geometry, cutting fluid, depth, feed, and tool life end point. For each of the data lines, the relationship between tool life and cutting speed is expressed in at least three sets of data, thereby making it possible to optimize for maximum production or minimum cost. While these data are expected to be of considerable assistance in providing data for numerical control applications, they are also of great value in any type of machining situation involving the materials for which machining data are presented. Specifically this report, the third of a series, pertains to drilling.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Reliable scheduling in cutting conditions is very important in machining processes, and this requires thorough understanding of the physical behaviors of the machining process, which cannot be achieved without understanding the underlying mechanism of the processes. The book describes the mechanics and dynamics together with the clamping principles in milling processes, and can be used as a guideline for graduate students and research engineers who wish to be effective manufacture engineers and researchers. Many books have focused on common principles, which are suitable for general machining processes, e.g., milling, turning and drilling, etc. This book specifically aims at exploring the mechanics and dynamics of milling processes. Original theoretical derivations and new observations on static cutting force models, dynamic stability models and clamping principles associated with milling processes are classified and detailed. The book is indented as a text for graduate students and machining engineers who wish to intensively learn milling mechanism and machine tool vibration.

Book Modern Optimization Techniques for Advanced Machining

Download or read book Modern Optimization Techniques for Advanced Machining written by Imhade P. Okokpujie and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2023-07-21 with total page 364 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Advanced manufacturing via computer numerical machining is the art of producing mechanical components employed in aerospace, automobile, and industrial applications where a high level of accuracy is needed. This book focuses on the nano-machining of aluminum alloy and its optimization. The application of aluminum alloy in the manufacturing industry has increased tremendously due to its lightweight to high strength ratio and high-level resistance to corrosion. However, aluminum alloy has some challenges during the machining and manufacturing stage in order to solve real-life manufacturing challenges in advanced machining operation for sustainable production processes. Therefore, it is a need for the implementation of a general algebraic modeling system (GAMS) and other metaheuristic techniques for problem solving and to effectively develop mathematical models for high accuracy prediction and optimization under nano-lubrication machining conditions. This book discusses majorly on the major three responses in machining such as surface roughness, cutting force, and material removal rate, which will give an excellent guide to undergraduate and postgraduate students, senior research fellows in academia, operational, and strategic staff in manufacturing industries.

Book Machining of Light Alloys

Download or read book Machining of Light Alloys written by Diego Carou and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2018-08-06 with total page 230 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Aluminium, magnesium and titanium are alloys of special interest for engineering applications in a wide range of sectors such as aeronautics, automotive and medical. Their low density, along with sufficient mechanical properties, makes them especially adequate for sectors such as transportation allowing diminishing weight less fuel consumption and emissions to the atmosphere. Nowadays, machining is still one the most important manufacturing processes, not only for metal parts, but also for specially designed hybrid parts for more demanding new applications. A wide range of valuable research has been done on the machining of conventional engineering materials. However, when dealing with light alloys and hybrid materials containing them, they need to face new challenges. Particularly, it is important to analyse the suitability of the machining of these alloys in the current context of Industry 4.0, focusing on the development of cost-effective and sustainable processes. This book is a comprehensive source on the machining of light alloys, presenting a collection of both experimental and review studies. The work is arranged in eight chapters, presented by a group of international scholars, which analyse the main problems related to the machining of these alloys from different perspectives. Key Features A comprehensive state-of-the-art reference source on machining of light alloys Provides research on conventional and non-conventional machining process Offers current research topics on sustainable machining Presents research on the machining of hybrid materials using light alloys Includes applications for Industry 4.0 environments Machining of Light Alloys: Aluminum, Titanium, and Magnesium The aim of the book is to serve as a tool for helping researchers and practitioners to face machining challenges and facilitating the development of new industrial applications for light alloys.
