This book was released on 2021-08-30 with total page 214 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book deals with the development of constitutional law in China and Visegrad states by employing a comparative perspective. It is the first time that the researcher compared the constitutional development in the China and the Visegrad states. It offers a few glimpses of development of constitution in the (former) socialist states to readers who are interested in the constitutional law or China–V4 relations. With the increased cooperation between China and V4 countries, this book gives the undergraduates in the university to think about the BRI and 17+1 network from a Chinese perspective. Last, compared to the previous works which mainly focus on North America and/or Western Europe, this book provides a new angle on comparative constitutional law.

Book The Political Institutions of Modern China

Download or read book The Political Institutions of Modern China written by William L. Tung and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 422 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is prepared primarily for students who are interested in studying the constitutional development and government structure of twentieth-century China. Since the emergence of the Chinese consti tutional movement at the end of the nineteenth century, political institutions in China have undergone constant changes. The first four chapters treat of constitutional development and government systems from the latter part of the Ch'ing dynasty to the re-unification of China by the Nationalist Party in 1928. The other eight chapters deal with the policies, programs, and institutions of the Nationalist and Commu nist governments up to 1962. While treatises on various subjects have been consulted, the sources of this book are chiefly based on the official documents from the collections as indicated in the bibliography. Materials in the first few chapters are partly drawn from my previous works on government and politics in China. Because of the immense scope of the subject and the intricacy of the problems involved, this work is not intended to be exhaustive, but is rather a brief description and discussion of each topic under consideration. As there are many valuable works on China in general as well as on her history and inter national relations, I have tried not to cover what has already been dealt with by others. In my presentation of facts and views, I have endeavored to be as objective as possible, personal political convictions notwithstanding.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book on China's constitution and its tradition of constitutionalism is one of the first in the English language, and as such provides a much needed overview of China's constitutional history and present arrangements. The nine chapters are divided into three parts. The first part (Chapters 1 & 2) deals with China's constitutional history, its indigenous and Confucian antecedents, as well as the turbulent century which led up to the 1982 Constitution and the new order which this ushered in. The second chapter deals with the distinctive features of its current constitution. The second part (Chapters 3-6) introduces the institutional structure defined in the current constitution - the relationship between the Centre and the Regions, the role of the party and the role of the People's Congress, the meaning of the socialist rule of law, and the independence of the judiciary. The third part (Chapters 7-9) discusses the major developments in human rights and their deficiencies - the protection offered to life, liberty, property and equality, and at the same time the currently dormant areas of political and religious freedom. The book concludes with a chapter looking forward to the future of the People's Congress and Chinese constitutionalism. In sum, the book offers a readable account of the salient features of Chinese constitutional developments in all major areas.

Book A Survey of Constitutional Development in China

Download or read book A Survey of Constitutional Development in China written by Hawkling Lugine Yen and published by Forgotten Books. This book was released on 2016-10-19 with total page 140 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from A Survey of Constitutional Development in China: Submitted in Partial Fulfillment of the Requirements for the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy in the Faculty of Political Science in Columbia University IN this monograph the author does not attempt to write a sketch of Chinese history, but only endeavors to pre sent in an orderly way, mainly for the occidental reader, the important constitutional changes that have occurred in the gradual development of the Chinese state. To him the development of the Chinese state, as any other state, may be likened to a mountain-range, which at places rises to be high mountains and at others dwindles to become low val leys. The mountains are not of the same height, nor are the valleys of the same distance. It is the high mountains that have received his attention and treatment here. The period of over years extending from the close of the third century B. C. To the end of the nineteenth represents a long stretch of low plain, a due recognition and considera tion of which will readily explain the so-called arrested development of the Chinese civilization and the fond at tachment of the Chinese people to the ancient regime. Toward the close of the past century the range once more began to rise and is now rapidly rising. On account of the recency of the change the author has refrained from enter ing upon a critical study of the events but contents himself with an orderly statement of the important facts.
