The Isle of Man, where the Manx was originally found, lends its rounded shape to the creature, which lacks a tail. Even his back is curled up like the rest of his body. If you believe the Manx is just rumpy, you're mistaken. There are also rumpy risers, which may have up to three vertebrae fused together at the end of their spine, as well as longys, who have a tail that's longer than the stump but shorter than a standard cat tail. There is also a longhaired Manx version known as the Cymric, which weighs 7 to 13 pounds, has a thick double coat in a variety of colors or patterns, may live for 13 years or more, and has a lifespan of 12 to 13 years.
