During the first two weeks of July, Brother Lee ministered in Chicago, Illinois. From July 21 through August 13 he was in Los Angeles, where he spoke the messages on the kingdom published in The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1972, volume 2. From late August through the middle of October Brother Lee traveled up the West Coast, visiting San Francisco and San Jose, California; Seattle, Washington; and Portland, Oregon. There is no record of his speaking in these cities. From the middle of October through the first week in November he traveled to Seoul, Korea, and Taiwan. The only record of his speaking is in Taipei, Taiwan. After returning from Taipei, Brother Lee visited San Diego, California; Denver, Colorado; Indianapolis, Indiana; Akron, Ohio; Arlington, Texas; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Atlanta, Georgia; New Orleans, Louisiana; and Phoenix, Arizona, before returning to Los Angeles in the middle of December. He visited San Francisco at the end of the year. The contents of this volume are divided into eleven sections, as follows: 1. Thirteen messages given in Chicago, Illinois, from July 3 through 9. These messages are included in this volume under the title Life and Building in the Bible. 2. Eight messages given in Taipei, Taiwan, from October 29 through November 5. They were previously published in a book entitled The Consummation of God's Salvation. 3. Five messages given in San Diego, California, from November 10 through 12. These messages are published in this volume under the title Enjoying the Riches of Christ to Become the Church as the Fullness of God. 4. Five messages given in Denver, Colorado, from November 17 through 19. These messages are included in this volume under the title Enjoying Christ as the Life-giving Spirit for the Building Up of the Church. 5. Six messages given in Akron, Ohio, on November 25 and 26. The first four messages were recorded in handwritten notes. These messages are included in this volume under the title The Recovery of Enjoying Christ with His Riches for the Producing of the Church and the Keeping of the Oneness of the Spirit. 6. Five messages given in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, from December 1 through 3. They are published in this volume under the title The Recovery of Eating and Enjoying Christ for God's Building. 7. From the end of January until the end of March 1972, Brother Lee was in the Far East. During that period he visited Taipei, Taichung, and Kaohsiung in Taiwan, as well as Manila, Philippines; Singapore; Jakarta, Indonesia; Bangkok, Thailand; Hong Kong; and Tokyo, Japan. There is no record of his speaking in any city except Taipei. He returned to Los Angeles at the end of March. With the exception of a brief visit to San Francisco near the end of May, he remained in Los Angeles until the beginning of June. He traveled again in North America for the next five or six weeks, visiting Houston, Texas; Toronto, Canada; Akron, Ohio; and Chicago, Illinois, before returning to Los Angeles. The messages given in Chicago are included in The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1972, volume 3. The contents of this volume are divided into ten sections, as follows: 1. Two messages given in Los Angeles, California, on January 15. These messages are included in this volume under the title Christ as Life to Us for the Reality and Practicality of the Church. 2. As mentioned in the preface to volume 1, from late July through the middle of November, Brother Lee visited the Far East. From July 25 through August 22 he was in Taiwan, where he was joined by over one hundred forty brothers and sisters from the United States and Canada, along with some saints from Brazil, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Denmark, and West Germany. He then visited Manila, Philippines; Singapore; Jakarta, Indonesia; and Hong Kong. There is no record of his speaking in any of these places. He returned to Taipei in late September, where he remained until early November. Subsequently, he visited Toyama and Tokyo, Japan, before returning to Los Angeles in the middle of the month. There is no record of his speaking in Japan. He remained in Los Angeles for two weeks and then visited San Francisco, California; Vancouver, Canada; and Seattle, Washington, during the next two weeks. There is no record of his speaking in Vancouver or Seattle. Brother Lee remained in Los Angeles from mid-December until the end of the year. The contents of this volume are divided into eleven sections, as follows: 1. Twelve messages given during a training for young people in Taipei, Taiwan, on August 6 through 10. These messages were published previously in Chinese under the title The Lord's Recovery and the Fulfillment of God's Desire. The last two spoken messages were combined. 2. Nine messages given in co-workers' and elders' meetings in Taipei, Taiwan, on August 13 through 17, and in a farewell meeting on August 22. They are included in this volume under the title Turning to the Age of the Spirit. 3. Three messages given to the co-workers and elders in Taiwan in August and September. These messages are included in this volume under the title Fighting for the Truth. 4. Ten messages given in Taipei, Taiwan. The first seven messages were given in island-wide elders' meetings in late September, and the subsequent two messages were given in a church meeting on November 3 and a service meeting on November 4, respectively. Of the first seven messages, the second was previously published as chapter 6 of the book entitled Character. The final message, which appeared in Church News, number 15, November 1968, consists of a report concerning the background of the two messages given on November 3 and 4. After returning to Los Angeles for one day in the middle of November, he visited Yorba Linda, California; Louisville, Kentucky; Toronto, Canada; East Hartland, Connecticut; Boston, Massachusetts; New York City; Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; and Erie, Pennsylvania. He returned to Los Angeles at the end of December. Regrettably, there is no record of his speaking in Phoenix, Las Vegas, Louisville, Toronto, East Hartland, and Boston. The majority of his speaking in Pittsburgh and Erie was recorded in handwritten notes. The contents of this volume are divided into fourteen sections, as follows: 1. They are included in this volume under the title Enjoying and Ministering Christ for the Fulfillment of God's Purpose. 13. One message given in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on December 22. This message is included in this volume under the title The Lord's Recovery of the Practice of the Church Life. Its contents were taken from the personal notes of an attendee. Brother Lee spoke two additional messages on December 23, but there is no substantial record of his speaking. 14. Thirteen messages given in Erie, Pennsylvania, on December 24 through 28. These messages are included in this volume under the title The Lord's Recovery of the Church Life. Of the thirteen messages spoken, only two were recorded. The content of the remaining chapters was taken from the personal notes of a conference attendee. Some messages were combined to form the nine chapters in this section. In addition to the above, Brother Lee gave six messages in Los Angeles, California, on August 16 through 21. These messages, together with messages given in 1963 and 1965, were previously published in a book under the title Our Human Spirit. Brother Lee remained in Taipei, Taiwan, until September 11, 1975, after which he traveled to Seoul, Korea, and Tokyo, Japan. There is no record of his speaking in the latter two cities. In mid-September he returned to Anaheim, California, and at the end of September he ministered in Berkeley, California. He then returned to Anaheim and ministered there until mid-November, whereupon he visited San Diego, California, and returned to Anaheim until the end of the third week in November. At the end of the month he gave a weekend conference in Dallas, Texas, and he returned to Anaheim in early December and remained there until the end of 1976. The contents of this volume are divided into twelve sections, as follows: 1. Seven messages given in Chinese in Taipei, Taiwan, on August 19 through 26, 1975. They were previously published in Chinese and English in a book entitled The Central Vision for Serving the Church. 2. Two messages given in Chinese in Taipei, Taiwan, on August 26 through 31, 1975. They were previously published in Chinese in a book entitled The Testimony of Jesus Christ--the Church in Revelation. 3. Five messages given in Chinese in Taipei, Taiwan, on August 27 through 30, 1975. They were previously published in Chinese and English in a book entitled Serving in the Flow of the Age. 4. One message given in Chinese in Taipei, Taiwan, on September 1, 1975. It is included in this volume under the title The Proper Exercise of the Young People in the Church. 5. Ten messages given in Chinese in Taipei, Taiwan, on September 1 through 5, 1975. They were previously published in Chinese and English in a book entitled The Revelation of the Mystery. 6. Two messages given in Berkeley, California, on September 27 and 28, 1975. The contents of these messages were taken from personal notes taken by one of the attendees. These messages are included in this volume under the title Miscellaneous Messages in Berkeley. 7. One message given in Anaheim, California, on October 10, 1975. This message was originally published in a separate booklet entitled The Revelation of the Triune God according to the Pure Word of the Bible and is included in this volume under the same title. It was later published together with What a Heresy--Two Divine Fathers, Two Life-giving Spirits, and Three Gods! (see The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1975-1976, vol. 3) in a two-chapter book entitled Contending for the Faith: the Truth concerning the Trinity. 8. Four messages given in Anaheim, California, on October 12 through 28, 1975. These messages are included in this volume under the title The Mingling of God and Man and the Proper Way for the Church to Grow, Function, and Be Built Up. 9. One message given in San Diego, California, on November 15, 1975. It is published in this volume under the title Needing a Proper Heart and Spirit for the Church. 10. Eight messages given in Dallas, Texas, on November 27 through 30, 1975. They were previously published in six chapters in volume 15, numbers 1 and 2 of The Stream magazine in a series entitled "The Lord's Recovery." 11. Four messages given in Anaheim, California, on December 18 and 19, 1975. These messages are included in this volume under the title The Basic Item of the Lord's Recovery Being Life, and the Issue of the Lord's Recovery Being the Body. 12. Three messages given in Anaheim, California, on December 30, 1975. They were previously published in a book entitled The Church--the Reprint of the Spirit.

During this period Brother Lee traveled from Los Angeles to Chicago at the end of August, where he remained for one week before returning to Los Angeles. From there he traveled in California, visiting San Francisco, San Diego, and San Jose before returning to Los Angeles at the end of October. Then he traveled to Dallas, Texas; St. Louis, Missouri; Toronto, Canada; and Detroit, Michigan. There is no record of his speaking in these four cities. Near the end of November he visited Akron, Ohio, and gave a conference over the Thanksgiving weekend. At the beginning of December he returned to Los Angeles for about a week, after which he traveled to Portland, Oregon; Vancouver, Canada; and Moses Lake, Spokane, and Seattle, Washington. He then went to San Jose and San Francisco at the end of December. There is no record of his speaking in Portland, Vancouver, Moses Lake, Spokane, and San Jose. The contents of this volume are divided into thirteen sections, as follows: 1. Seventeen messages given in Chicago, Illinois, from August 27 through September 6. These messages were previously published under the title Enjoying the Riches of Christ for the Building Up of the Church as the Body of Christ. 2. One message given in Chicago, Illinois, on August 29. This message was previously printed in The Ministry magazine, volume 2, number 8, August/September 1998, under the title The Scriptural Pattern for Raising Up Churches. 3. One message given in Chicago, Illinois, on September 5. It is published in this volume under the title Migration for the Lord's Move in the United States. 4. One message given in Los Angeles, California, on September 8. It was previously printed in The Ministry magazine, volume 2, number 8, August/September 1998, under the title The Establishing and Spread of the Churches. 5. Three miscellaneous messages given in Los Angeles, California, on October 3 and 31. They are included in this volume under the title Various Los Angeles Meetings. 6. One message given in San Diego, California. The date of the message is uncertain, but it is thought to be October 10. It is included in this volume under the title The Recovery of the Genuine Oneness of the Body of Christ. 7. One message given in San Diego, California, on October 22. This message is published in this volume under the title Having a Personal, Intimate, Affectionate, Tender, and Loving Contact with the Lord Jesus. 8. Two messages given in San Francisco, California, on October 16 and 17. They are published in this volume under the title The Lord's Recovery of the Enjoyment of the All-inclusive Christ. 9. Seven messages given in Akron, Ohio, from November 25 through 28. These messages are included in this volume under the title The Central Revelation in the Bible. 10. Three messages given in Akron, Ohio, from November 22 through 26. They are included in this volume under the title Being Saved in the Life of Christ for the Church Life. 11. Three messages given in Los Angeles, California, from December 5 through 8.
