Book excerpt: Read the Review! My husband was diagnosed with diabetes at the age of three years old. At the age of thirty-two, he was diagnosed with kidney failure. The major trials had just begun; our life was being squeezed. We then took a two-year journey that I will never forget. This book takes you on the two-year journey, the journey including closing our business down temporarily for two years, selling our home and moving, two transplant surgeries, including pancreas and kidney; (I was the kidney donor), a near organ rejection after surgeries, about twenty to twenty-four eye surgeries, including a retina detachment, the death of two family members. In the physical, it seemed that there was no hope, but I soon learned that pain produces purpose, and how God engineered and orchestrated every step we needed to take. God opened doors that man said could not be opened. Against all odds, I have a miraculous testimony that I would love to share with you, a message of hope, that if we endure, hold on, and not waver in our faith, with God all things are possible to those who believe. We are in desperate need of life-changing values; our value system can get overthrown by the world's system, and everybody needs a high-quality checkup once in a while by means of the great physician.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: There have been previous books on the Cleveland Museum of Art published by Scala, but this is the first to explore the gardens surrounding the museum. The Cleveland Museum of Art is located in a parklike setting with other cultural and educational institutions. Built on land given by one of the museum's major donors, the museum opened to the public in 1916. The foreground of this majestic white marble structure, however, was a long-neglected parcel of land with a small lake owned by the City of Cleveland. In the 1920s the Garden Club of Cleveland took on the job of transforming this blighted plot into a garden everyone could enjoy. Mary Hoerner presents the history of the Fine Arts Garden, and Jeffrey Strean discusses the development of the museum's grounds since the 1930s as well as plans for the future. This lavishly illustrated and beautifully designed book presents a new aspect of the history of a distinguished institution.

Book Celebrating the Soul of Cleveland

Download or read book Celebrating the Soul of Cleveland written by Nina Freedlander Gibans and published by ATBOSH Media Ltd.. This book was released on 2018-08-24 with total page 245 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Celebrating the Soul of Cleveland summarizes a life in Cleveland, a city whose very identity provides sustenance and support to all who welcome it into their heart. The project started with a simple discussion. The premise of this book and for the projects described in it is: Evolution. Community Arts Leader Nina Gibans loves our collective "aha" moments, when we "get it" and roll along - excited - together. Using images, stories, poems, interviews, reflections, and reminiscences Nina weaves together a new gestalt, a whole that is often present long before the pieces are put into place. A lifetime of experiences, encounters, discussions, are the parts of this, a multi-tasking of the mind, combined until they find the parts make sense and there is a city - a community. "Here is to all of the men, women, and children who have stuck with me through my life of joyous adventures and to the support of a loving caring husband and friendly critic whose bloodstream ran in the same direction as mine." - Nina Gibans
