Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Going on a quest with a handsome prince might sound like a dream, but Prince Rupert's cousin Carole comes to feel it isn't all it's cracked up to be. Carole agrees to accompany her hunky cousin to Miragenia to christen his baby niece. But it is really hard to even explain the situation to anyone; how the little Princess was stolen from her mother's side by Miragenians who demanded fifteen years of the first-born's life in exchange for a bit of help during wartime. Or how the baby was taken before magical christening gifts could be bestowed upon her for her protection and character development. The ladies surrounding Rupert (also known as Rowan the Romantic and Rowan the Rake) don't care about some baby and don't hear anything about the mission because they're too busy sighing over him. Crowd control is an obvious problem, as is extricating Rupert from more than one involuntary engagement. When at last the two, with the help of dubious questing companions including a love-stricken pink and purple dragon, arrive at the theocracy of Gorequartz where the baby had been fostered out to a queen, they find themselves in trouble of a completely different complexion. Their most deadly nemesis is none other than a giant crystal "god" seemingly created in Rupert's own image!

Book The Self Quest for Meaning in a Changing World

Download or read book The Self Quest for Meaning in a Changing World written by Renate Daniel and published by Daimon. This book was released on 2020-10-20 with total page 143 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Whoever engages in C.G. Jung’s concept of the self will be confronted with questions relating to humanity, and concepts of God, the divine and faith. Jung deems it necessary to treat these topics on a psychological level because of the far-reaching implications they have on the way we live and relate to each other. But they also impact on ethical attitudes, ideologies, social processes and therapeutic models. Scientific evidence usually proves difficult. A certain open-mindedness towards this topic is expected on the part of the reader, and it would be helpful to embrace the ideas put forward ‘without prejudice’ for the moment. This book aims to help readers become more aware of their own ideas and convictions and how these may influence one’s self-image and worldview.

Book Quest for Blackbeard The True Story of Edward Thache and His World

Download or read book Quest for Blackbeard The True Story of Edward Thache and His World written by Baylus C. Brooks and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2016-07-31 with total page 672 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Over 2 lbs, with 614 pages of text, tables, and graphs! Do you know who "Blackbeard the Pirate" was? Probably not! Born into a substantial family in Bristol, the eldest son of Capt. Edward and Elizabeth Thache sailed for Jamaica with his family sometime before 1695. Capt. Edward Thache of St. Jago de la Vega or "Spanish Town" died there at age 47 while his son, Edward "Blackbeard" Thache Jr. joined the Royal Navy and fought in Queen Anne's War aboard HMS Windsor. Thache resembled more a Robber Baron of the early 20th century than a poor downtrodden member of Benjamin Hornigold's "Flying Gang" in the Bahamas - or even his "pupil." Capt. Charles Johnson's "A General History of the Pyrates" is a flawed historical work and much of what we have previously known about Blackbeard is simply not true. This book attempts to rediscover exactly who Blackbeard really was... and how he related to his maritime American "Pirate Nation!" Quite a few surprises are in store! Book The Book of Kyng Arthur

Download or read book The Book of Kyng Arthur written by Charles Moorman and published by University Press of Kentucky. This book was released on 2021-10-21 with total page 136 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Beginning with a consideration of Malory's ingenious chronology, this study shows that Malory achieved thematic and structural unity by selecting from the great mass of Arthurian legend three narrative strands—the intrigues of Lancelot and Guinevere, the Grail quest, and the feud between the houses of Lot and Pellinore—using these to illustrate a single theme—the rise, flowering, and downfall of an ideal civilization. This selection and use of diverse materials, Charles Moorman asserts, indicates clearly that Malory set to work with a preconceived plan and that he did achieve his purpose, to write the "haole book of Kyng Arthur."

Book The Burning Bush

    Book Details:
  • Author : Edward Reaugh Smith
  • Publisher : SteinerBooks
  • Release : 1997
  • ISBN : 9780880104470
  • Pages : 812 pages

Download or read book The Burning Bush written by Edward Reaugh Smith and published by SteinerBooks. This book was released on 1997 with total page 812 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Even more significant for Christianity in the long run than the twentieth-century Dead Sea and Nag Hammadi discoveries is the growing North American awareness of Rudolf Steiner's works. Virtually unavailable until the end of the twentieth century, English translations from the German archives are gradually coming into print. Both Steiner and his works have thus far been virtually unknown in traditional theological circles. No Bible commentary has yet reflected the remarkable spiritual insights of Anthroposophy. Now, ten years after first encountering a written comment about Rudolf Steiner, Ed Smith combines his own extensive traditional biblical knowledge with his years of concentrated study and reflection on hundreds of assembled works by Steiner. The result is the first Bible commentary in the light of anthroposophic insight. This is the first volume of a series of Bible commentary by the author. It is based on the "anthroposophic" understanding given to humanity by Rudolf Steiner during the first quarter of the twentieth century. Bible commentaries have always reflected the general line of thinking of their authors. However, the dramatic newness of anthroposophic thought means that perhaps the usual method of using a Bible commentary is not appropriate here. A large part of The Burning Bush is necessarily devoted to laying an anthroposophic, or spiritual-scientific, groundwork. A major assumption indulged in most Bible commentaries--that one can go directly to portions dealing with given passages of scripture and understand what is being said about them--does not fit.
