Book Christ Consciousness

Download or read book Christ Consciousness written by Danielle Van Dijk and published by Temple Lodge Publishing. This book was released on 2010-04 with total page 205 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: We live in a world characterized by intolerance, war, environmental degradation, and economic collapse. By contrast, is it possible to build a society in which tolerance, love, and peace are the abiding principles? In this positive and inspiring book, van Dijk shows how, beginning with our personal development, we can contribute to such a new and transformed world. She describes how we can develop a universal spiritual consciousness--what she calls "Christ Consciousness." The author emphasizes that the Christian mysteries took place on the physical plane, distinguishing with great clarity between Jesus as a human being, the incarnation of Christ on Earth, and the Cosmic Christ. She builds bridges between the spiritual research of Rudolf Steiner, the Nag Hammadi writings, and the gospels of Mary Magdalene and Judas, culminating in a comprehensive and wide-ranging picture of the Christ. By gaining insight into the nature of Christ's being and undertaking practical exercises described here, each of us can achieve the new Christ Consciousness. In ancient times, selected individuals underwent rites of initiation in secret mystery schools. Any student who made public the knowledge obtained there was put to death. In our time, however, the spiritual mysteries have become open and available to all. Initiation, van Dijk tells us, involves "walking the inner path to all-embracing love, which is known in Gnostic and esoteric lore as Christ, the highest divine Being," leading to sublime, cosmic-orientated consciousness that comes into existence when the higher self exists wholly within the individual human being.

Book The Bodhisattva Question

Download or read book The Bodhisattva Question written by Thomas Meyer and published by Temple Lodge Publishing. This book was released on 2010 with total page 209 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Enthusiastic readers are sometimes heard to say of a book: 'I couldn't put it down.' This is obviously either a metaphor or else a gross hyperbole. But I can't recall any book as to which in my case it came nearer to the literal truth than The Bodhisattva Question." -- Owen Barfield According to Eastern tradition, the twelve sublime beings known as bodhisattvas are the great teachers of humanity. One after another, they descend into earthly incarnation until they fulfil their earthly missions. At that point, they rise to buddahood and are no longer obliged to return in a physical form. However, before bodhisattvas becomes a buddhas, they announce the name of their successors. According to Rudolf Steiner, the future Maitreya Buddha--or the "Bringer of Good," as his predecessor named him--incarnated in a human body in the twentieth century. Presuming this to be so, then who was this person? Theosophists believed they had discovered the bodhisattva in an Indian boy named Krishnamurti, who did indeed grow up to become a teacher of some magnitude. Adolf Arenson and Elisabeth Vreede, both students of Steiner, made independent examinations of this question in relation to Steiner's personal mission. They reached contrasting conclusions. More recently, a claim has been made that Valentin Tomberg--a student of Anthroposophy but later an influential Roman Catholic--was the bodhisattva. In this book, Meyer analyzes these conflicting theories and demonstrates how the question can be useful as an exercise in developing sound judgment in spiritual matters. Elisabeth Vreede's two lectures on the subject, included here in full, are a valuable contribution to our understanding of the true nature and being of Rudolf Steiner. Includes a new afterword by T. H. Meyer and Carla Vlad.

Book At the Dawn of a New Consciousness

Download or read book At the Dawn of a New Consciousness written by Bernard Nesfield-Cookson and published by Temple Lodge Publishing. This book was released on 2010 with total page 158 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Italian Renaissance is considered by many to mark the beginning of the modern age. The name itself (literally "rebirth") accurately expresses the innovation that took place during that period. Renaissance thinkers took a vital interest in history, literature, and the arts, focusing on the human world as much as, if not more than, that of God. The rapid development of the arts and sciences reflected their study of the visible, physical world in all its three-dimensional glory. The source of these new impulses, says the author, can be found in what Rudolf Steiner calls the birth of "the consciousness soul"--the faculty for objective self-awareness. Instead of a primarily inward-looking consciousness, people began looking outward with greater intensity, observing the world around them in detail. With greater conscious of their separate being, people of the Renaissance began to study the phenomena of the world of nature from an individual, personal perspective. In this enlightening book, illustrated with sixteen pages of color plates, the author illuminates the concept of the consciousness soul, showing how it is reflected in fifteenth-century Florentine painting, sculpture, and architecture, as well as in the impulses issuing from Plato's Academy of Athens.

Book The Life and Work of Rudolf Steiner

Download or read book The Life and Work of Rudolf Steiner written by Guenther Wachsmuth and published by SteinerBooks. This book was released on 1995-06 with total page 1037 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Zanoni, first published in 1842, was inspired by a dream. Sir Edward, a Rosicrucian, wrote this engaging, well-researched, novel about the eternal conflict between head and heart, between wisdom and love, played out by the Rosicrucians before the dramatic background of the French Revolution. He described his book Zanoni as "a truth for those who can comprehend it, and an extravagance for those who cannot." Following his introduction, the novel is divided into seven parts, whose titles indicate the sevenfold path of spiritual development. The fourth section, "The Dweller of the Threshold," is the book's centerpiece, revealing significant esoteric facts and experiences. A novelist, a dramatist, a scholar, an editor, and an active member of Parliament, Sir Edward was an extremely successful author whose writings were widely read throughout England and Europe. He poured into this esoteric work all of the ancient esoteric wisdom that he felt he could reveal to the public during an age buried deeply in materialism. This work remains one of the great, pioneering landmarks of esoteric writing.

Book The Liberation of Capital

Download or read book The Liberation of Capital written by Folkert Wilken and published by Taylor & Francis. This book was released on 2024-03-01 with total page 260 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: First published in 1982, The Liberation of Capital develops a challenging and critical confrontation of orthodox and Marxist theories of capital with the unifying concept of ‘free capital’ – human creativity and intellectually-derived productivity. He argues that progress must include the recognition of the essentially organic nature of the economy and that it will proceed through the level of understanding of all engaged in the development of participation. He advocates a variety of practical proposals, including the contractual sharing of added value. This is a book which everyone interested in industrial participation and capital theory should read, whether in the academic world, in management, in government or on the shop floor.

Book Manifestations of Karma

Download or read book Manifestations of Karma written by Rudolf Steiner and published by Rudolf Steiner Press. This book was released on 2013-04-17 with total page 235 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Why do people have such differing events and circumstances to deal with in their lives? What are the meanings of diseases, illnesses, accidents and natural disasters? From his clairvoyant spiritual research, Rudolf Steiner speaks of karma, or destiny, as a reality - an actual scientific phenomenon which can and should be understood today. We create our own karma in all areas of existence, says Steiner, laying the foundation in one incarnation for the following one. We cannot seek for a complete pattern or meaning in one earthly life, but must begin to take into account many lives on earth. He indicates that although we may not be aware of particular causes, the knowlege that a resolution of our own self-induced karma is in process can help to bring both an acceptance and a sense of purpose into our present lives./

Book Searching for the Spirit of the West

Download or read book Searching for the Spirit of the West written by Luigi Morelli and published by CLAIRVIEW BOOKS. This book was released on 2023-05-29 with total page 384 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: How can the West rediscover its authentic spirit? Exploring the period from 1899 to 1945 – from the end of the US frontier and the writing of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz to the conclusion of World War II and the dropping of the atom bomb – Luigi Morelli traces the events that led the United States to become the world’s dominating imperial force. America, he demonstrates, is deeply connected to Britain, Germany and Eastern Europe, particularly Russia. Yet despite their tragic collective histories, there is hope for the future – if only America can claim its true task. Searching for the Spirit of the West challenges many of the falsehoods that pass for mainstream history. Utilizing a wealth of documented evidence from the research of overlooked historians, economists, social and spiritual thinkers, the author takes a symptomatic view of the past, revealing hidden, longer-term trends. This approach offers a new understanding of events such as the rise of Nazism, the Great Depression, the new Deal, and even the roles of banking and clandestine ‘brotherhoods’ in world history. Morelli also appraises The Wonderful Wizard of Oz in parallel with America’s cultural achievements. Through imagination, L. Frank Baum’s contemporary fairy-tale enables us to intuit the true mission of the West and its potential contribution to world culture, now and in the future.

Book Star Wisdom and Rudolf Steiner

Download or read book Star Wisdom and Rudolf Steiner written by David Tresemer and published by SteinerBooks. This book was released on 2007-02 with total page 569 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Flower essences are liquid, energetic remedies derived from living flowers. They bring the natural dynamic energy of the plant directly into the human electro-system, where they work to bring about movement toward health and balance. Because of their energetic and living quality, they work directly and deeply in the emotional system, assisting in the release of early wounds and trauma. These suppressed imprints are considered to be a main causes of many types of diseases or imbalances today. Flower essences are a perfect complement to many of today's health practices. They enhance the effects of energy work, physical therapy, acupuncture, psychotherapy, cranial-sacral work, massage, aroma therapy and many other forms of healing and treatment. Flower essences are safe, natural, and non-toxic. Continuing the work of Edward Bach, Stars of the Meadow looks deeply into the relationship between health and the human personality. David Dalton takes us on a thorough and soulful exploration of how to use more than forty medicinal herbs as flower essences, portraying each flower in a way that is both substantive and inspired. Each description is organized to present a picture of how the flower essence affects the adult personality as it has been formed through life, and describes its direct clinical effects on children and animals. Dalton also connects different types of flowers--based on the number and arrangement of petals as well as associated colors and qualities--to the system of human chakras, or energy centers. This innovative approach allows the reader to discover new ways to employ flower essences to focus on specific areas of one's being, from the most physical to the highest levels, allowing a kind of flexibility rarely found in any single system of healing. Stars of the Meadow is a valuable guide not only for those who are new to flower essences, but also for seasoned herbalists who wish to deepen their knowledge of this effective method of healing body, mind, and soul.

Book Astronomy and Spiritual Science

Download or read book Astronomy and Spiritual Science written by Elisabeth Vreede and published by SteinerBooks. This book was released on 2007-12 with total page 610 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Rudolf Steiner was in fact not merely a phenomenally educated and articulate philosopher but also a Man of Destiny.... By comparison, not only with his contemporaries but with the general history of the Western mind, his stature is almost too excessive to be borne." --Owen Barfield The New Essential Steiner is an illuminating, completely new introduction to the philosophy and essential writings of Rudolf Steiner, introduced and edited by Robert McDermott, who also edited the now-classic Essential Steiner. This new volume offers selections from a wide variety of Steiner's published works, presenting a broad, accessible overview of Anthroposophy. In his introduction, McDermott recounts Steiner's life and work, from his childhood and education to his work as a natural scientist, philosopher, scholar, educator, artist, interpreter of culture, and seer. He places Steiner in relation to major traditions of thought and explores the genesis and development of Anthroposophy. Although Rudolf Steiner is considered by many to be the greatest spiritual seer and philosophical thinker of the twentieth century and is credited with major cultural contributions such as the worldwide Waldorf school movement and the ever-growing biodynamic agricultural movement, he nevertheless remains relatively unknown to both academics and the public. The purpose of this volume is to redress that situation by introducing Steiner's work to a broader audience and making his name more universally recognized. Includes selections from Steiner's writings, which are grouped into chapters that demonstrate the breadth of his thinking and spiritual accomplishments. The New Essential Steiner is an invaluable compendium and introduction to the works that form the foundation of Anthroposophy.
