Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “...” “Deuce? Did it help?” “...” “Deuces...Manuia?!” Deuce sniffed before finally answering. “I did a terrible thing. MIB and Chaos used me to do something horrible to Angelica. I’m gonna go now before I manifest and kill myself, okay? Wouldn’t wanna go out like a Divine god. I deserve something way less honorable than that. Thanks for the memories, uso...” The line went dead and Silex immediately phoned Priest for an emergency Code: Black. It was code for a suicide advisory call. Right after he got off the line with Silex, Priest exhaled in utter frustration and made the call to Loto. “I need us to break protocol on this. I know we were supposed to play it legit this mission, but this situation is totally off the record right now and it takes precedence, brother. I think Deuce endured the same thing you did with the Sprite Queen. But the situation was at the Boneyard during Florida and Angelica’s incident. He was ‘urged’ by a third party, possibly Tunui or Chaos. MIB had their hands in it as well. I’ll explain more later... Be at the hotel in five minutes,” muttered Priest. “I’m on my way right now!” advised Loto.

Download or read book Cheshire Crossing written by Andy Weir and published by Ten Speed Graphic. This book was released on 2019-07-09 with total page 128 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In a one-of-a-kind graphic novel collaboration between the #1 New York Times bestselling author of The Martian and the beloved illustrator behind Sarah’s Scribbles, Alice, Wendy, and Dorothy team up to save the multiverse, from Wonderland to Neverland and Oz. Originating as fan fiction from the brilliant imagination of Andy Weir, now brought to vivid life by Sarah Andersen, Cheshire Crossing is a funny, breakneck, boundlessly inventive journey through classic worlds as you’ve never seen them before. Years after their respective returns from Wonderland, Neverland, and Oz, the trio meet here, at Cheshire Crossing—a boarding school where girls like them learn how to cope with their supernatural experiences and harness their magical world-crossing powers. But Alice, Wendy, and Dorothy—now teenagers, who’ve had their fill of meddling authority figures—aren’t content to sit still in a classroom. Soon they’re dashing from one universe to the next, leaving havoc in their wake—and, inadvertently, bringing the Wicked Witch and Hook together in a deadly supervillain love match. To stop them, the girls will have to draw on all of their powers . . . and marshal a team of unlikely allies from across the magical multiverse. Advance praise for Cheshire Crossing “Deliciously funny . . . a shrewd and spirited adaptation that will leave audiences hoping for another installment . . . Andersen’s delightful cartoon drawing style meshes perfectly with Weir’s prose, allowing the work to broaden its appeal beyond middle graders to young adults and adults.”—Kirkus Reviews (starred review)
Download or read book The Cheshire Bantams written by Stephen McGreal and published by Casemate Publishers. This book was released on 2007-03-01 with total page 257 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Raised in Birkenhead in 1914 the Bantams were unique as the average height of the volunteers was a mere five foot! Previously denied the opportunity to serve, these men seized this chance to join up. As a result the battalions comprised working class men from all over Britain - Welsh miners, sturdy London dockers, Lancashire mill workers and Merseyside laborers. As part of 35th (Bantam) Division, the Bantams fought on the Somme. The Bantams' casualties were so severe that by early 1917 the Division effectively ceased to exist. Thereafter reinforcements came from the General Pool. They suffered heavily again at Houlthust Forest. The 35th Division played a key part in stopping the German 1918 offensive. Some 900 members of these Battalions lost their lives in The Great War.

Book excerpt: Fall down the Rabbit Hole one last time. . . Four stories. Four adventures. The past will meet the future in this final companion installment of the Sons of Wonderland. CRUEL AS A QUEEN Villains are made, not born. Alice knows that better than anyone, her story starting with an accidental fall down a rabbit hole. She experienced wonderful things, but when she returns home, no one believes the mad imagination of a little girl. Doctors tried everything to make her admit she’s wrong, to make her forget, but nothing will ever take away her memories of Hatter, White, Cheshire, and Alex. No matter what they do to her, she will not bow. Alice will make everyone pay for what they did. They thought she was a monster before. They haven’t seen nothing yet. THE PRINCE AND HIS HOPE Danica and Alexander only ever wanted to be together, even at the expense of tradition. Nothing could keep them apart, or so they thought. Hope is for the living. THE FLAMINGO AND THE DODO BIRD Their story was one that was revered around Wonderland. Follow the tale of how they met, and how two creatures completely at odds fell in love. A VERY MAD WEDDING It’s time for a new Reign to begin. . . **Cruel as a Queen includes mentions of abuse, gore, sex, and Sexy Flamingos. These four stories tell those of the characters in the Sons of Wonderland trilogy that still longed to be told. This is a companion novel that should be read after Feral as a Cat and leads into the spin off series, The Daughters of Neverland**
