The production and analysis of the cyanic and fulminic acids, and the discovery of new a'eriform combinations of carbon and hydrogen, have fur nished more decisive evidence than we before possessed, that compounds, differing essentially as to their properties, may nevertheless agree not only as to the kind, but the propor tions, of their elements.
