Book Nitrogen Oxygen and Sulfur Ylide Chemistry

Download or read book Nitrogen Oxygen and Sulfur Ylide Chemistry written by J. Stephen Clark and published by Practical Approach in Chemistr. This book was released on 2002 with total page 328 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Chemists from Europe, North America, Japan, and India not only describe the chemistry of the three reactive intermediates relevant to their use in synthesizing complex organic compounds, they also provide detailed protocols of methods for generating and using them in reactions. About a third of the book is devoted to nitrogen, oxygen, and sulfur ylides. The rest ammonium, oxonium, and sulfonium; azomethine, carbonyl, and thiocarbonyl; and nitrile flavors. Book The Chemistry of Heterocycles

Download or read book The Chemistry of Heterocycles written by Vishnu Ji Ram and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2019-06-05 with total page 500 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Heterocycles are ubiquitously present in nature and occupy a unique place in organic chemistry as they are part of the DNA and haemoglobin that make life possible. The Chemistry of Heterocycles covers an introduction to the topic, followed by a chapter on the nomenclature of all classes of isolated, fused and polycyclic heterocycles. The third chapter delineates the highly strained three membered N,O and S containing aromatic and non-aromatic heterocycles with one and more than one similar and dissimilar heteroatom. The four-membered heterocycles are abundantly present in various natural and synthetic products of pharmacological importance. This chapter describes the natural abundance, synthesis, chemical reactivity, structural features and their medicinal importance. This class of compounds are present as sub-structures in penicillin and cytotoxic Taxol. Lastly, a chapter on the natural abundance, synthesis, chemical reactivity and pharmacological importance of 5-membered heterocycles with N,O,S heteroatom is covered. The chemistry of heterocycles with mixed heteroatom such as, N-S, N-O, N-S etc. is also described. Gives in-depth, clear information about various systems of nomenclature along with widely acceptable IUPAC system for naming various classes of heterocycles Provides complete information about natural occurrences, synthesis, chemical reactivity, pharmacological importance of heterocycles and their application in material science Highly relevant for graduate students and researchers, providing updated information about various isolated and fused N,O and,S containing heterocycles

Book Correlation Analysis in Chemistry

Download or read book Correlation Analysis in Chemistry written by N. Chapman and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 557 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book, Correlation Analysis in Chemistry: Recent Advances, is a sequel to our Advances in Linear Free Energy Relationships. t The change in the title is designed to reflect more accurately the nature of the field and the contents of the volume. The term LFER is still widely used, but it is often applied rather loosely to correlation equations that are not LFER in the restricted sense of a relationship involving logarithms of rate or equili brium constants on each side of the equation. The term "correlation analysis" seems to us more appropriate for the whole subject. The use of this term has compelled us also to introduce "chemistry" into the title; we have preferred not to prefix this with "organic" on the grounds that several areas of interest are not "organic chemistry" as usually understood, al though, of course, traditional applications of the basic relationships asso ciated with the names of Hammett and of Taft continue to be of interest. In the first volume we sought through our authors to provide a series of general articles covering the various aspects of the field as they seemed to us. Since the book was the first international research monograph in its field, each chapter, while giving prominence to recent developments, did not neglect earlier work, so that each article presented a comprehensive account of its own area.
