But this I apprehend is a miitake, for Ihave perufed this author, Without being able to meet with any fuch pa age; and i have fearched and made enquiries, but in vain, for the petition. It is more than probable, therefore, that this fiivilege was lof't merely by difcontrnuance, as was the cafe With {evei'al other places; and a {hort examination of the ancient method of carrying into execution the ele tive franchife will doubly warrant this fuppofition.
