Book This Dynamic World

Download or read book This Dynamic World written by Charles W. Morgan and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2010 with total page 162 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This Dynamic World is visually beautiful and full of useful knowledge. The book makes plain what has been obscure. Long before our "New Age" of Aquarius or even the environmental evangelism of "an inconvenient truth," Charles Morgan, 91 year old "Hindu preacher" and "farmer philosopher," revealed the secrets of the last days. For instance, we learn that Levi Dowling brought forth the Akashic Record and Aquarian Gospel of Jesus Christ not in the 1960s, but in the 1860s. Long before the "planned community," "open space," or "green space," Charles Morgan postulated the "city in a building." From the dust bowl to today's "drying of the west," this farmer said we farm too much and honor nature too little. This Dynamic World leads us to prophets from Moses to Edgar Cayce, thinkers from Plato to Confucius, scientists from Einstein to Hawking, and also spiritual masters like Paramahansa Yogananda, the first Hindu yogi in America and his disciple. In this book, we learn from saints like Paul and John on his isle of Patmos as well as from heavenly messengers (called by some angels, by others astral beings). We find God With Us (called by some Messiah, by others avatar). The book is a key to enlightenment on a spiritual level of existence in a planetary community for individual and worldwide salvation where we are all related and must relate to each other. This is the concept of "biorelativity." This Dynamic World calls us on a Worldwide Crusade for Biorelativity. This Dynamic World uses the "fabric of time" as a scientific basis for prophecy and the astral cycle of George King, Jeanne Dixon, and Ruth Montgomery. We embrace "good vibrations," "energy," meditation, and "yoga" but also the Word of God and the philosophies of men in a determination to take blessed action.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A Los Angeles Times Best Non-Fiction Book of 2007 A Boston Globe Best Non-Fiction Book of 2007 Amazon.com Editors pick as one of the 10 best history books of 2007 Winner of the 2007 John Lyman Award for U. S. Maritime History, given by the North American Society for Oceanic History "The best history of American whaling to come along in a generation." —Nathaniel Philbrick The epic history of the "iron men in wooden boats" who built an industrial empire through the pursuit of whales. "To produce a mighty book, you must choose a mighty theme," Herman Melville proclaimed, and this absorbing history demonstrates that few things can capture the sheer danger and desperation of men on the deep sea as dramatically as whaling. Eric Jay Dolin begins his vivid narrative with Captain John Smith's botched whaling expedition to the New World in 1614. He then chronicles the rise of a burgeoning industry—from its brutal struggles during the Revolutionary period to its golden age in the mid-1800s when a fleet of more than 700 ships hunted the seas and American whale oil lit the world, to its decline as the twentieth century dawned. This sweeping social and economic history provides rich and often fantastic accounts of the men themselves, who mutinied, murdered, rioted, deserted, drank, scrimshawed, and recorded their experiences in journals and memoirs. Containing a wealth of naturalistic detail on whales, Leviathan is the most original and stirring history of American whaling in many decades.

Book The Strangling of Persia

Download or read book The Strangling of Persia written by William Morgan Shuster and published by . This book was released on 1912 with total page 504 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: William Morgan Shuster (1877-1960) was an American lawyer and financial expert who served as treasurer general to the government of the Persian Empire in 1911. In 1910, the Persian government asked U.S. president William Howard Taft for technical assistance in reorganizing its financial system. Taft chose Shuster to head a mission of American experts to Tehran. The Strangling of Persia is Shuster's account of his experiences, published soon after his return to the United States. In the Anglo-Russian convention of August 31, 1907, Britain and Russia had divided Persia (present-day Iran) into a Russian sphere of influence in the north of the empire and a British sphere in the south (with additional arrangements for Afghanistan and Tibet). Each power was to have exclusive commercial rights in its sphere. Under this agreement and other arrangements, Persian customs revenues were collected to guarantee the payment of interest and principal on foreign loans. Seeking to defend the interests of the Persians, Shuster clashed repeatedly with Russian and British officials, until his mission was forced to withdraw in early 1912. The book provides a detailed account of the background to the mission, of political and financial conditions in Persia in the early 20th century, and of the rivalry among Russia, Britain, and eventually Germany for influence in the country. The narrative covers the Russian military intervention of 1911, the atrocities committed by Russian troops, and the coup and dissolution of the Majlis (parliament) carried out under Russian pressure in December 1911. The book includes numerous photographs and a map, an index, and an appendix with copies of key documents and correspondence

Book Whaling on Martha s Vineyard

Download or read book Whaling on Martha s Vineyard written by Thomas Dresser and published by Arcadia Publishing. This book was released on 2018 with total page 176 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Martha's Vineyard became an integral part of the whaling industry at the beginning of the eighteenth century and inspired a lasting romantic enthusiasm for life on the open ocean. From shorewhaling to daring voyages into the Atlantic, Pacific and Arctic Oceans, the insular whaling community offered a tempting path for many young Vineyarders to rise from cabin boy to captain. Local businesses were enticed by the potential profit from whaling voyages, and many reaped generous rewards from successful whale oil harvests. Through memoirs, music and memorabilia, author Thomas Dresser recounts this dramatic history of the bygone era of whaling on Martha's Vineyard.
