Book The Homicidal Handyman of Oak Park Morris Solomon Jr

Download or read book The Homicidal Handyman of Oak Park Morris Solomon Jr written by Tony Ray Harvey and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2012-07 with total page 383 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: AS FAR AS FITTING the STEREOTYPES bestowed to infamous chain-link murderers that exist outside African American culture, there was a time when black serial killers were recognized, to some extent, implausible by purported experts who probably cared not to explore the primary nature of the slayers' transgressions. Nevertheless, the obscured story of handyman Morris Solomon Jr. has to be one of the most interesting tales untold as it is one of the most horrific yarns in the annals of American crime. the handyman's misdeeds, when briefly brought to the public's attention, virtually reminded society that killers continuously come in all colors, shapes, and sizes. Solomon was convicted of killing six young women, ages 16 to 29, in the Sacramento, California, neighborhood of Oak Park between 1986 and 1987. the handyman's grisly method of murder left detectives and medical examiners mystified. the identification process of his victims' remains was distinctly a laborious assignment, too. the victims --drug addicts, prostitutes, and devout mothers -- were stuffed in closets, hidden under debris, and arguably, one court judge strongly considers, buried alive. In retrospect, the handyman was first accused of murder in the mid-1970s; and authorities suspect him to be linked to four more homicides in Sacramento. Solomon -- once declared as a "Mentally Disordered Sex Offender"-- is now on death row in Northern California's San Quentin State Prison awaiting execution. the unassuming handyman's 18-year reign of terror includes a record of sexual assaults, attempted kidnappings, and separate despicable sex acts performed strictly for humiliation. In the Homicidal Handyman of Oak Park: Morris Solomon Jr., author and journalist Tony Ray Harvey recounts the black serial killer's dysfunctional upbringing, atrocious crimes, and hardly noticeable court trial. Harvey's book also provides explicit crime scene photos, the history of the death penalty system in the state of California, the city of Sacramento's drug culture in the mid-1980s, and exclusive prison interviews of the mild-mannered handyman.

Book The Radical Right and the Murder of John F Kennedy

Download or read book The Radical Right and the Murder of John F Kennedy written by Harrison E. Livingstone and published by Trafford Publishing. This book was released on 2004 with total page 632 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Radical Right and the Murder of John F. Kennedy: Stunning Evidence in the Assassination of the President Harrison E. Livingstone's major new book, the fifth of his works on the death of JFK, brings together for the first time all of the central evidence demonstrating a domestic Right Wing conspiracy rooted in Texas which assassinated the President on November 22, 1963. The book represents forty years of work. The book discusses in great detail the actual medical evidence and the forgery of the autopsy photographs and X-rays, which Mr. Livingstone first exposed, the alteration of the autopsy report, the framing of the designated patsy, Lee Harvey Oswald, and the substitution and fabrication of every single piece of evidence. It discusses the role played in the murder by some of the most powerful men in the country: Lyndon Johnson, J. Edgar Hoover, and Richard Nixon, as well as the rich oil men and companies who backed them. It then describes the cover-ups by the media, the major investigations over the years, the FBI, and the mind-control cooperation at work in the case to misdirect researchers and the public. The book describes in great detail the people and companies in Texas who planned and carried out the assassination. It names names. One recent investigation in the 90s followed Mr. Livingstone's preceeding work and reinvestigated with the witnesses both he and the official investigations had talked to, but this time took into consideration their documentation and what they had actually said, and in a chapter this is his stunning new evidence from the U.S. government under President Clinton that is blowing the lid off the case. Mr. Livingstone first revealed to the Washington press corps in 1998 that there has been such a secret investigation, and spoke for fifty minutes when the Assassination Records Review Board gave their final press conference. As a result, Mr. Livingstone was on all major TV networks and on the "Today" show (NBC) with Katie Couric the next morning. The book also contains the story of Dallas doctor Charles Crenshaw's law suit and the depositions of the editor and writer of the Journal of American Medical Association who libeled him in articles in 1992. Dr. Crenshaw's book about trying to save Kennedy at Parkland Hospital shortly after the shooting came out on the same day as Mr. Livingstone's major work on the medical evidence, High Treason 2, were JAMA's targets, and the depositions contain much discussion of Mr. Livingstone's major impact on the JFK case. This new book is to be followed closely by a sixth book entirely about the Zapruder film, called The Hoax of the Century: Decoding the Forgery of the Zapruder Film.

In Wrecking Crew, Ferak lays out high-profile lawyer Kathleen Zellner’s post-conviction strategy to free Avery. “Whatever you thought you believed about this infamous case, get ready to change your mind or be more convinced than ever . . . Fascinating.” —Steve Jackson, New York Times bestselling author My Brother’s Keeper: The moment he found out his brother Gary was missing and presumed dead, Ted Kergan launched a relentless effort to bring two suspected killers to justice and find Gary’s body. Little did he know his quest would consume a fortune and take thirty years to reach its dramatic conclusion. But the victims’ families and friends suspected they were considered a threat to Philippines dictator Ferdinand Marcos and his regime’s relationship to the United States. “Remarkable . . . The story has so many twists—as well as amazing turns—that prove the point that conspiracy theories aren’t necessarily fiction.” —Eric Nalder, Pulitzer Prize–winning investigative journalist

Book excerpt: When psychology professor Redmond "Mac" McClain and his artist wife, Jennifer, begin a sabbatical at Patten University in Pittsburgh, they are intrigued by the city's beauty and turbulent history. While visiting the Welsh Museum of Art, Jen wonders how the museum managed to acquire three of the five great paintings of the tragically short-lived Parisian artist, Paul Deschamps. How could these extremely valuable works have come to the smoky city of Pittsburgh in 1903, rather than to Paris or London? Mac and Jen find that little is known about Deschamps beyond his drowning in 1904. They undertake a casual research to uncover information about Deschamps. Their more immediate attention is devoted to learning about the city, and to their concerns for the faculty at Patten. Patten is facing serious financial problems, and there is a venomous ongoing struggle between the faculty union and the new, authoritarian, president of Patten. The shocking, mysterious drowning death of a faculty member whom Mac and Jen know, also preoccupies them. Finding their way through a puzzling multiple of remote and current mysteries tests the cleverness, persistence, and courage of Mac and Jen!

Book Murder On Hickory Mountain

Download or read book Murder On Hickory Mountain written by Walker Bramblett and published by Boruma Publishing. This book was released on 2022-01-05 with total page 52 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Ryder Malone is content to practice indigent defense from his mountainside cabin overlooking Longstreet, the perfect little tourist town. But after a chance encounter with a prisoner in the county jail, he discovers there is a dark underside surrounding Hickory Mountain, and it’s threatening his love and his life. Will he survive long enough to discover who’s murdering innocent men? ~~~~~ Excerpt ~~~~~ The prisoner clutched the bars so hard his knuckles were white. His nails were clean, and he wore chinos, a purple Izod shirt, and red-laced boots that looked like they came from Neiman Marcus. He was maybe in his mid-forties, average height and trim, and he wore tortoiseshell glasses. A good haircut. Clean shaven. Not a typical prisoner in any jail Malone had ever seen. “Yes, I’m a lawyer. Ryder Malone.” “I’m Mark Coker. I need a lawyer. They just pulled me over this morning, said I was weaving, then claimed they found a hidden gun in my car. I wasn’t weaving, and I don’t even own a gun. They won’t let me use the phone. I can pay you.” Malone handed him his card and asked, “Where are you from, Mr. Coker? What do you do?” “I’m an architect from Marietta. I was supposed to meet clients on a mountain tract overlooking a lake named Amadahy,” said Coker. “Lake Amadahy is in Nolan County. Next county up.” “Well, I took a dirt road on the right going up a mountain, which was what I was looking for,” said Coker. “But I came to a group of trashy houses and trailers. A big metal garage with tractor-trailer trucks. Parts, rusty equipment scattered all over the place. I figured this had to be the wrong road, so I turned around. When I got back on the highway, I didn’t get far before blue lights lit me up from behind, and I pulled over. Then another car came rushing in with lights flashing, blocking me from the front.” “The second car came in right away?” Malone asked. “It all happened real fast,” Coker said, nodding. “I didn’t know what was happening.” That seemed odd. A coordinated stop-and-block on a weaving case when the guy had just gotten on the road? Malone assumed there was something Coker wasn’t telling him, a common phenomenon in the world of criminal defense. “Have you made any statements?” Malone asked. Coker shook his head. “They haven’t asked me anything. I told them that wasn’t my gun.” “Okay. Don’t make any statements, don’t talk about your case. I have to talk to the DA on Snead’s case tomorrow, I’ll see what he has to say. Maybe he will agree to a bond.” He quoted a retainer, and Coker gave him the names and numbers of his wife and his attorney in Marietta. Malone assured Coker he would contact his wife immediately and started to leave. Then he thought of another question. He turned back toward the cell. “When you turned around where the trucks and all were, did you see or talk to anybody?” A witness who could say Coker wasn’t drunk would help. “There was a man who came rolling out from under a truck on one of those flat things with wheels, you know, like mechanics lie down on. He stood up wiping his hands on a greasy rag, and just shook his head when I asked if the road went to Lake Amadahy.” “What did he say?” asked Malone. “Nothing. Nothing at all. Shook his head no, that’s it,” said Coker.
