Book Two Krishnas and One Chariot The Story Of Arjuna

Download or read book Two Krishnas and One Chariot The Story Of Arjuna written by J.B.Patro and published by BecomeShakespeare.com. This book was released on 2019-10-20 with total page 716 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Brahmananda Patro (J B Patro) retired as a Deputy Chief Executive from the Nuclear Fuels Complex, Hyderabad (earlier in Bhabha Atomic Research Centre), specialized in the production of Nuclear Fuels for Power Reactors. He is a member of the early pioneering team in the production of natural uranium, right from milling ore to finished fuel for nuclear power reactors operating in India. During his long service he had the chance to interact and participate in a number of scientific seminars in India and abroad. Drawn to the teachings of Lord Krishna right from a very early age, Mr. Patro viewed Bhagavad-Gita as a treatise on the Physics of energy-The Laws of Thermodynamics-the very cosmic laws that govern of our Universe and conduct our lives as the rita of the Vedas. He has compiled, edited and since published Sree MahaBhagavatam in English translated from original Sanskrit by late Swami Ramakrishna Brahmananda. Enchanted by Lord Krishna’s personality and researching into the classical and contemporary literature on Krishna, his book The Life and Times of Krishna- the Deity Who Lived as Man was published by Wisdom Tree in September 2013.While researching on Krishna Mr. Patro was fascinated by the character of Arjuna, the bosom friend of Krishna. Krishna says on a number of occasions in the Epic Mahabharata that Arjuna is his other self, alter ego. And also, the Puranic literature attributes the duo to the legend of ancient rishis Nara Narayan. Arjuna being an avatar of Nara-The primeval Man or eternal spirit pervading the Universe, always associated with Narayana the Supreme Spirit Vishnu/Krishna. Both are considered as Gods or Sages and accordingly called ‘Deva, Rishi, and Tapasao’. This has been the theme of the book on Pandava hero Arjuna entitled as ‘Two Krishnas and One Chariot-The story of Arjuna. It took about two years to research on the subject from Epic Mahabharata and other related literature. Arjuna was a versatile human, intellectual with an enquiring mind, and a peerless warrior, and Lord Krishna rightly selected him to impart his Science of Yoga which has been handed down to us as Bhagavad Gita.

Download or read book Alternative Krishnas written by Guy L. Beck and published by State University of New York Press. This book was released on 2012-02-01 with total page 227 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Krishna—widely venerated and adored in the Hindu tradition—is a deity of many aspects. An ancient manifestation of the Supreme God Vishnu, or the Godhead itself, Krishna is the bringer of Yoga philosophy and the creator of the universe, the destroyer of evil tyrants, and the hero of the epic Mahabharata. He is also described in classical Sanskrit texts as having human characteristics and enjoying very human pursuits: Krishna is the butter thief, cowherd, philanderer, and flute player. Yet even these playful depictions are based upon descriptions found in the Sanskrit canon, and mostly reflect familiar, classical Pan-Indian images. In this book, contributors examine the alternative, or unconventional, Krishnas, offering examples from more localized Krishna traditions found in different regions among various ethnic groups, vernacular language traditions, and remote branches of Indian religions. These wide-ranging, alternative visions of Krishna include the Tantric Krishna of Bengal, Krishna in urban women's rituals, Krishna as monogamous husband and younger brother in Braj, Krishna in Jainism, Krishna in Marathi tradition, Krishna in South India, and the Krishna of nineteenth-century reformed Hinduism.

Book Krishna s Melody Whispers of the Flute

Download or read book Krishna s Melody Whispers of the Flute written by Anshumala Singh and published by . This book was released on 2024-09-05 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It is with great joy and reverence that I invite you to embark on a journey into the world of divine melodies and timeless wisdom. As I sat down to write this book, "Krishna's Melody - Whispers of the Flute," I was inspired by the idea of blending the enchanting presence of Lord Krishna with the innocence and curiosity of childhood. This book is a humble attempt to capture the essence of Krishna's divine playfulness and his eternal teachings, wrapped in the comforting embrace of a melody that has echoed through time. Krishna, with his flute, is not just a deity playing music; he is a storyteller, a guide, and a friend. The stories whispered through his flute are not just tales of the past, but lessons for the present and the future. They are stories that resonate with every age, every heart, and every soul seeking meaning, love, and connection. In this book, Krishna appears in a simple, relatable form-a flute player who befriends children and shares with them stories that are as sweet as the notes he plays. As a child, I often found myself lost in the stories of Krishna-his playful antics, his boundless love for his devotees, and the profound wisdom hidden in his words. I imagined what it would be like to sit at his feet, to hear his voice, to be swept away by the melody of his flute. It is this sense of wonder and devotion that I have tried to bring to life in these pages. The idea of Krishna disguised as a humble flute player, wandering through villages and cities, sharing his wisdom with those who are willing to listen, struck a chord deep within me. It reminded me that the divine is often found in the most unexpected places, in the simplest of forms. Through this book, I hope to share with you not only the stories of Krishna but also the essence of his teachings-love, compassion, humility, and the eternal dance of life. Each story in this book is a whisper from Krishna's flute, a note in the symphony of life that he plays so beautifully. The children who stumble upon this mysterious flute player are like each of us-curious, eager to learn, and open to the magic of the world around us. Through their eyes, we experience the joy of discovery, the warmth of friendship, and the comfort of knowing that the divine is always near. I hope that as you turn the pages of this book, you feel the same sense of peace and wonder that Krishna's music brings. May these stories inspire you, comfort you, and remind you of the simple, yet profound truths that Krishna shared with the world. Whether you are young or old, may you find in these whispers of the flute a melody that speaks to your heart and soul. Thank you for joining me on this journey. May Krishna's melody continue to play in your life, guiding you with love and wisdom. With love and devotion, Anshumala Singh

Book excerpt: A sparkling, witty and confident debut from a rising Canadian star whose Trinidadian roots and riotous storytelling heritage inform her completely delightful novel. It is 1974 in the town of Chance, Trinidad--home to a colourful cast of cane farmers, rum-drinkers, scandal-mongers . . . and a bright 18-year-old schoolgirl named Vimla Narine. After passing her A-levels with extraordinary results and accepting the coveted teaching post at Saraswati Hindu school, Vimla is caught with the village pundit's son, Krishna Govind. At night. Holding hands. By morning, even the village vagrant has heard the news and the Govinds and Narines find themselves at the heart of Chance's most delicious disgrace since a woman chased her cheating husband from the district with a rolling pin. Very quickly, Vimla's teaching post is rescinded, her mother goes on strike from everything, her father seeks solace in the rum shop and Vimla is confined to her home. While Vimla waits for Krishna to rescue her, Krishna's father exiles his boy to Tobago with a suitcase of Hindu scriptures and a command: Krishna will become a man of God. It is his duty. Just when Vimla thinks her fate couldn't be worse, her best friend, Minty, brings word that Krishna has become betrothed to the beautiful Chalisa Shankar. And Chalisa wants to meet Vimla. Together, Vimla and Minty devise a scheme to win Krishna back that involves blackmailing a neighbour, conspiring with Chalisa, secret trysts in cane fields--and unearthing surprising truths that could change Vimla's, Krishna's and Chalisa's lives forever.
