Book Revelation of Jesus Christ

Download or read book Revelation of Jesus Christ written by Margaret Barker and published by A&C Black. This book was released on 2000-11-02 with total page 462 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A new and transforming approach to the Book of Revelation. Margaret Barker bases her study on a fresh reading of the primary sources. As an Old Testament scholar, she can read Revelation as Hebrew prophecy - ancient temple oracles which inspired Jesus and his own prophecies, and influenced the whole Jerusalem Church. Jerusalem was waiting for their Great High Priest to return and complete the Atonement at the end of the Tenth Jubilee. This expectation fuelled the revolt against Rome. Josephus, who deserted to Rome, was the false prophet. John, who escaped to Patmos, compiled Revelation as a record of the first generation. In the future, he taught, the Lord would return to his people in the Eucharist. This work illuminates the formative years of Christianity, in the social, religious and political situation of mid-first-century Palestine, in a quite remarkable way. It will have profound implications for the understanding of Christian origins and the development of Christian liturgy.

Book The Books of Daniel and Revelation Made Easy

Download or read book The Books of Daniel and Revelation Made Easy written by Warren Reid and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2022-02-07 with total page 164 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The book of Revelation must be the most feared book of the Bible to read. Now you can read it with great delight for this book is written to help you, the reader to understand what your Father in heaven is revealing to you. God does not want His children to be ignorant of His plan for us. Neither does He want us to be ignorant of the things He has in store for us. He has said in Hosea 4:6, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge”. Therefore, get knowledge and use that knowledge to defend yourself and help others. I have to confess that I know nothing about the things of God. I have to rely entirely upon the Holy Spirit to lead me into all truths. The thing that moved me to write about the books of Daniel and Revelation is that I know that they are hard books to understand, but I also know that God wants His people to understand for He has loved us all with an everlasting love. Warren Reid didn’t write this book because of his will. Rather, he wrote it because he was commissioned to do so by God. The Books of Daniel and Revelation Made Easy examines the twelve chapters of Daniel and twenty-two chapters of Revelation. Divided into two parts, it tackles the books in detail. The author answers questions such as: • What passages of the Bible should you think about time and time again? • Why did Daniel refuse to eat the king’s meat and the wine he provided for them? • Why is it so important to pray to the living and true God just as Daniel did? • How can we recognize when Satan is working through someone? The Lord is coming, but we must be able to recognize the man of sin before Christ comes. We must be resolved in our hearts that we will not yield to him, that we would rather choose death than to bow down and worship his image or take his mark. May the God of Heaven give us grace to stand for Him in the evil days—and may this book help light the path that leads to everlasting life.

Book Finally the Book of Revelation Made Easy

Download or read book Finally the Book of Revelation Made Easy written by David A. Bowen and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2018-08-28 with total page 461 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Many believers see the book of Revelation as a book that is too hard to understand. The third verse of this book has a promised blessing: Blessed is the one who reads the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it because the time is near. The Lord would not offer a blessing and then turn it into confusion! So why is this book so difficult to so many? Because the average modern-day believer does not have a firm understanding of the Old Testament. The book of Revelation is explained in the Old Testament. The purpose of this book is to help the reader journey through the Old Testament into the clarity of Revelation. If you heard me say, We are going to celebrate like it is the Fourth of July, what would you think? When you hear that phrase, what mental pictures come to your mind? Fireworks? BBQ? Summertime? I did not mention any of those words. I just said Fourth of July. Theres an association there, and that association is key. However, if we lived in some other foreign country and you overheard me use that same phrase, what mental picture would you have if you had never been to America? Maybe none because there would be no understanding of the event or meaning. This is where many modern-day believers are when it comes to understanding the depth and meaning of the Old Testament. One may understand a story or two, but not many have the clarity needed to fully understand the meaning and purpose of the Old Testament language used in the New Testament, especially in the last book of the Bible. My goal is to help you understand and apply Gods Word in proper context.

Book excerpt: Book of Revelation: Commentary Study Guide This study guide is designed for personal and small group studies for the book of Revelation. Easy to follow interpretation helps guide the reader through the complex passages of the final chapter of the bible. Out of the vast stream of biblical interpretation, perhaps the largest tributary consists of commentaries upon the book of Revelation. Spanning centuries, some of the best minds and most devoted men and women have graced us with their works. The spiritual attack upon the future world has never been fully addressed in chronological detail due to a misinterpretation of certain chapters and passages. Nor has symbolism of certain words and expressions amply made sense, until now. "Simply Revelation" is an aspired work providing the reader elementary, yet pertinent answers in each chapter that God has conveyed. Propel your mind and soul into a new perception of prophecy, enhancing your faith toward an intimate relationship with God. "I find fascinating the simple message within the complex passages of the Bible. The symbolic idioms in Revelation are used and interpreted with the same figurative definition throughout the entire Bible." The author adds, "Revelation is a symphony with a progressive, crescendo message of God's covenant for mankind." T. R. Estep's desire to become intimate with God has led him to over 30 years of study. He has shared his findings by serving in teaching ministries at various churches.
