Download or read book The Beauty of the Redemption written by Bishop Ferdinand Samson Ovbiebo and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2018-10-13 with total page 274 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: We should serve God by using our gifts, talents, and other resources to add value to the lives of others to the glory of the Lord. It is very important for us to strive with all our might to offer excellent service to God in whatever capacity and do so with cheerful hearts. Everything we do in the service of God, plus how we do it, decides the level of honor and influence we will enjoy in our destinies. I believe it also determines the level of divine favors we will walk in here on earth. Serving in excellence is our highway to honor and distinction. “If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honor” (John 12:26). The main point, however, is that it is not enough just to serve God. Your service must be of a level of excellence. Nothing less will do. Service to God is commendable, but that is not enough. Your service must be honorable. In this way, your gifts and offerings must honor him. “Therefore the LORD, the God of Isreal, declares: ‘I promised that your house and your father’s house would minister before me forever.’ But now the LORD declares: ‘Far be it from me! Those who honor me I will honor, but those who despise me will be disdained’” (1 Samuel 2:30). If you cut corners in carrying out divine assignments, don’t expect the best from God. Have a big heart for God. “The temple I am going to build will be great, because our God is greater than all other gods” (2 Chronicles 2:5). If you want to experience the glory of God in your life, go all out in your sacrifices. Be an extremist in your excellence service to him.

Download or read book Romance and Redemption Enjoy the Book of Ruth written by Timothy Cross and published by Ambassador International. This book was released on 2019-05-15 with total page 39 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The book of Ruth is a moving story of romance and redemption. It begins tragically yet ends wonderfully. Why? Because the God of the Bible ‘is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think’ (Ephesians 3:20b). In the book of Ruth we glimpse the wonderful providence of God at work. The book proves the truth of Romans 8:28 that ‘in everything God works for good with those who love him, who are called according to his purpose.’ The book of Ruth is a story of romance—a romance between Ruth and Boaz —and also a story of redemption. Ruth, a nobody, became a somebody, eventually marrying into the Messianic line. How? By the amazing grace of God. And it is the same today! By nature we are sinners - helpless and hopeless. But by the grace of God in Christ, our sins are forgiven, and we become the adopted children of God and heirs of eternal blessedness – heirs of the very kingdom of heaven. These and others are some of the encouraging lessons we glean in the book of Ruth. Come then and be blessed by this lovely portion of the Word of God and enjoy the book of Ruth!

Download or read book Reading for Redemption written by Christian R. Davis and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2011-02-07 with total page 131 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The goal of this book is to define and explain the archetypal pattern of redemption that underlies our whole notion of resolution in literature and to demonstrate, through multiple examples, that successful literature--poems and stories that have shown endurance or popularity--uses this pattern in specific ways. This theory should help readers to interpret both particular works of literature and the general notion of literature. The pattern of redemption employed here, in its ideal form, involves the sacrifice of an innocent redeemer to save something that has been lost. Because this pattern of redemption is typically associated with Christianity, this book can be taken as proposing a Christian theory of criticism. Current textbooks on literary criticism and theory cover a range of perspectives, such as Marxism, feminism, multiculturalism, reader response, and queer theory, but they invariably ignore the field of Christian criticism. Therefore, this book may be most useful as a supplementary text for courses in literary criticism that might include a Christian perspective. At the same time, however, the terms and methodology proposed here are not exclusive to or dependant on Christian beliefs, so readers of all types may find this approach useful. The greatest strength of this book is its application of the theory to numerous examples from a wide range of genres and periods of literature, testing the theory on classical and Shakespearean works such as the Iliad and Odyssey, Hamlet and Coriolanus; best sellers such as The Lord of the Rings, Le Petit Prince, Valley of the Dolls, and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows; horror stories such as Frankenstein; postcolonial novels such as Things Fall Apart and The Kite Runner; and lyric poems. Consequently, even readers who are skeptical of the assumptions used here should find the many concrete examples thought-provoking.
Download or read book The Nature of God s Divine Redemption written by John R. Matthew and published by Author House. This book was released on 2014 with total page 165 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The book was born out of a desire to lift your spirit. As we look around us today, we see a lot of pain and sorrow and misery. The concept of ?The Nature of God's Divine Redemption? is a deliberate intention to encourage you and to lift your hope, to put your mind on something better and a superior way. The book tells you, ?If the son of man set you free, you are free indeed? (John 8: 36, King James Bible). That is what is ?The Nature of God's Redemption? is about. We are told that whatsoever a man thinks in his heart so is he. The idea behind the book is to help you to think good thoughts and to lift your minds from horizontal things to vertical things. God's love is the most amazing thing. The book tells that faith is also amazing. ?It takes far more faith to believe in the intellectually chic and fashionable evolutionary myth than it does to believe in the existence of God.' Moreover, it says, ?Evolution is based entirely on faith because no facts or proof have ever been found to support it ? Faith does play a primary role in the life of a Christian. For the person who truly wants to seek God and learn to please Him, Hebrews 11:6 tells us that: ?But without faith it is impossible to please God: for him that cometh to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarded of them that diligently seek Him? Faith is vital to a Christian. In fact, without it, no one can please God. Notice this verse says that those seeking God ?must believe that He is.' Also the book articulates that ?a deep belief in God, who ?rewards? all who ?diligently seek Him, requires proof of His existence.' It says it is ?After proof has been established, then'and only then can one have faith'absolute confidence that what man does is being recorded in God's mind, to be remembered when he receives his reward.' If you are uncertain that God exists because proof of that existence has not been firmly established, then, under fire, your faith will wane or disappear. But when you truly believe in what Jesus Christ did on the Cross of Calvary, God's Divine love will redeem you and set you free from the heavy load of sin.

Download or read book Hastening Redemption written by Arie Morgenstern and published by OUP USA. This book was released on 2006-06-22 with total page 299 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Accounts of the history of Zionism usually trace its origins to the late nineteenth century. In this groundbreaking book, Arie Morgenstern argues that its roots go back even further.Morgenstern argues compellingly that the Jewish community in Israel may be traced back to a large-scale wave of immigration during the first half of the nineteenth century. Inspired by an expectation for the coming of the Messiah in the year 1840, thousands of Jews from throughout the Ottoman Empire, North Africa, and Eastern Europe relocated to Jerusalem. Morgenstern describes the messianic awakening in all these lands but focuses primarily on the concept of redemption through messianic activism that prevailed among the disciples of Rabbi Elijah, the Ga'on of Vilna. These immigrants believed that the Messiah's arrival would bring about the redemption of the Jews, but also that, in order for this redemption to come about, they needed to prepare the way for the Messiah by fulfilling the commandment to dwell in the land of Israel. Morgenstern offers a dramatic account of their relocation, their efforts to renew rabbinic ordination, their reestablishment of the Ashkenazi community, and the building of Jerusalem. He also explores the crisis of faith that followed the Messiah's failure to appear as expected, and its effects on the community.Drawing on a wealth of previously untapped sources, Morgenstern sheds important new light on the history of messianic Judaism and on the ideological trends that preceded, and eventually gave birth to, modern political Zionism.
Download or read book Drums of Redemption written by Bitrus A. Sarma and published by Langham Publishing. This book was released on 2023-03-02 with total page 377 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: If the New Testament records the good news that the Messiah came in the person of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, what good news does it proclaim to the church in Africa today? Across the African continent, nations are grappling with issues of genocide, terrorism, political instability, ethnic division, abject poverty, environmental degradation, and the rapid erosion of community life and values. There is a dire need for New Testament theology that seriously addresses these social-political realities from an African perspective. Dr. Bitrus Sarma seeks to meet this need, providing a contextual understanding of the gospel for African Christians. Addressing every book of the New Testament, Drums of Redemption is contextually relevant, biblically rooted, and radically hope-filled as it casts a vision for how Christ’s redemptive mission can be experienced in every area of life. An excellent resource for church leaders in training or those already in ministry, it also serves as a powerful example of the incarnational nature of God’s word.
Download or read book Ruth A Love Story of Restoration Redemption written by Alrinda Mulder and published by Alrinda Mulder. This book was released on 2024-03-13 with total page 180 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The story of Ruth, Naomi and Boaz is an inspiring short story about devotion, loyalty, kindness, compassion, and, most of all, love. Ironically, the word ‘love’ is not even once mentioned in the Book of Ruth, but throughout, you can see the love. It is a story where the characters genuinely display their biblical morals and values. We learn a lot about Jewish customs and God’s plan for humanity. It consists of types, patterns and shadows of God’s promise that was revealed throughout the New Testament. As you read and study the Book of Ruth, you will realise that a beautifully profound message is hidden between these pages in the Word of Abba Father.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Every now and then a new book is released and people stand in long lines with great anticipation, some even camp outside the bookstore overnight waiting to purchase a copy. Television news sometimes captures the pictures of people pushing and shoving into the stores to get their hands on that book, and within a few days they have read every line. As I look at these lines of people, I have often thought, "Now what book could get me so excited that I would stand in line for hours to get a copy and then lose sleep trying to read every word?" It would have to be a book filled with essential, long lasting, lifesaving information. Its author has to be lovable and all-knowing and the information has to be crucial to my existence now and in the future. Then the thought flashes through my mind, there is such a book available free, for the asking, but there are no long lines of eager excited people waiting to get their hands on it. Is it possible that most people really do not know what is in this book? This book is none other than the Bible. The Bible is the most important book that has been written and the most important book that we will ever read. This book reveals the history of God's plan of redemption.
