Remember that the one who will be prosperous, is the one who washes away the filth of his sins by repentance while repentance is available, awakes and gets out from the place of sins to the fort of guidance before repentance and apology are of no avail. Book How to be Free from Sin

    Book Details:
  • Author : Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad
  • Publisher : Islam International
  • Release : 2008
  • ISBN : 1853729787
  • Pages : 43 pages

Download or read book How to be Free from Sin written by Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad and published by Islam International. This book was released on 2008 with total page 43 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Islamic concept of salvation differs from that of other religions, and from Christianity in particular, because Islam rejects the concept of Original Sin and declares man to be responsible only for his own sins. He, therefore, needs to free himself from his own sins in order to attain salvation. In this article, Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, the Promised Messiah(as) answers the all-important question, why does man commits sin, and how can he free himself from it. The Promised Messiah(as) also argues that a true religion must be judged by its ability to lead its followers to certainty about the existence of God. The holy author makes a detailed comparison between Islam and other major religions, and concludes that Islam alone can lead man to perfect awareness and, consequently, to freedom from sin. The first English translation of this article was published under the title How to get rid of the Bondage of Sin, in the English edition of The Review of Religions, January 1902. The current translation has been prepared by Wakalat Tasnif, Rabwah.

Book David in the Muslim Tradition

Download or read book David in the Muslim Tradition written by Khaleel Mohammed and published by Lexington Books. This book was released on 2014-12-24 with total page 239 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In Chapter 38:21-25, the Qur’an relates a very short narrative about the biblical King David’s seeking and receiving God’s forgiveness. The earliest Muslim exegetes interpreted the qur’anic verses as referring to the Hebrew Bible’s story of David’s adultery with Bathsheba, as related in 2 Samuel 12:1-13. Later Muslims, however, having developed the concept of prophetic impeccability, radically reinterpreted those verses to show David as innocent of any wrongdoing since, in the Muslim tradition, he is not only a king, but a prophet as well. David in the Muslim Tradition: The Bathsheba Affair outlines the approach of the Qur’an to shared scriptures, and provides a detailed look at the development of the exegetical tradition and the factors that influenced such exegesis. By establishing four distinct periods of exegesis, Khaleel Mohammed examines the most famous explanations in each stratum to show the metamorphosis from blame to exculpation. He shows that the Muslim development is not unique, but is very much in following the Jewish and Christian traditions, wherein a similar sanitization of David’s image has occurred.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For various reasons the West has not been able to appreciate Ibn Taymiyyah's place in Islam. His criticism of Ash'ari Kalam, Greek logic and philosophy, monistic Sufism, Shi'i doctrines, and Christian faith have proved great obstacles to appreciating his contribution. His way of writing has also been to an extent responsible. Most of his writings are short or long responsa (fatawa) to particular questions, often recurring, put to him by different men at different times, rather than planned, systematic works on particular subjects. This makes the appreciation of his contribution somewhat difficult. Henri Laoust in France was the first to take serious notice of him. Since the publication of his Essay on the Social and Political Doctrines of Ibn Taymiyyah (1939), a few articles and books have appeared on Ibn Taymiyyah's thought, but they are far from giving any clear idea of his overall contribution to Islam, even less of assessing his role in its revival and renewal (tajdid). In fact, there has been little understanding of the concept of tajdid in Islam. This volume consists of selections from various writings of Ibn Taymiyyah included in Majmu' Fatawa Shaykh Al Islam (37 volumes) as well as some of his major works such as Minhaj as Sunnah An Nabawiyyah, Dar Ta'arud al Aql wa-An Naql, kitab Ar Rad alaa Mantaqayyin, Al-Istiqamah, and Iqtida As Sirat Al Mustaqeem. These selections will present a clearer and complete view of Ibn Taymiyyah's concept of Islamic faith, life and society. They are primarily intended to highlight his positive position and mention his criticisms and refutations of other positions only to the extent needed.

Book excerpt: The Imam was asked a long question of which a part was - What is the opinion of the scholars regarding a man who is afflicted by a disease, and knows that if it should continue it would damage his life? The Imam Quoted the Hadith from Sahih Bukhari The prophet (S) said: 'Allah has appointed a remedy for every disease He has sent down' Imam Ahmad reported on the authority of Usamah bin Shareek that the ' Prophet (S) said Allah has not made a disease without providing a remedy for it, with the exception of one disease, namely old age' This Applies to the medicine for the heart, soul and body. The wellbeing of the servant's heart, is far more important than that of his body, for while the wellbeing of his body enables him to lead a life that is free from illnesses in this world, that of the heart ensures him both a fortunate life in this world and eternal bliss in the next.
