Download or read book Where to Live in London written by Sara McConnell and published by . This book was released on 2000 with total page 244 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Since the first publication of Where To Live in London, the property market in London has been booming and a lot of things of changed. In light of all this, the author has updated the information for all 33 inner and outer London boroughs about school league tables, traffic and transport, council tax bands, crime figures and library-use tables. All the same crucial questions are answered in the same accessible manner as the first version but the information reflects the property market as it is now in 2000. What is it really like to live in the different neighbourhoods of London? What sorts of price bands can you expect in the various areas? Are there any good schools nearby for children and how well does the town council perform? What sort of people are attracted to the area? Sara McConnell walks the reader through London borough by borough and provides detailed information on all the various aspects in life in London such as shops, restaurants, open spaces and medical and leisure facilities. This easy-to-use guide features graded star ratings for amenities, provides a map of the boroughs and offers a list of useful addresses.

Marguerite Radclyffe Hall was born on 12th August 1880, in Bournemouth, England. Hall's first novel The Unlit Lamp (1924) was a lengthy and grim tale that proved hard to sell. Book Bacterial Diseases of Crop Plants

Download or read book Bacterial Diseases of Crop Plants written by Suresh G. Borkar and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2016-09-19 with total page 628 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Food and agriculture is an important component in the development and survival of civilizations. Around half of the world’s population and their economies are influenced by agricultural farm production. Plant diseases take as much as a 30 percent toll of the crop harvest if not managed properly and efficiently. Bacterial diseases of crop plants are important in plant disease scenarios worldwide and are observed on all kinds of cultivated and commercial value plants including cereals, pulses, oilseeds, fruits, vegetables, cash crops, plantation crops, spices, ornamentals and flowering plant, forage crop, forest trees, and lawn grasses. Bacterial diseases are widespread and are difficult to identify and to control. Few pesticides are available for use in control, and many plant pathologists are not well trained in the management of bacterial diseases. Bacterial Diseases of Crop Plants offers concise information on bacterial diseases of crops, proving a valuable asset to students, scientists in industry and academia, farmers, extension workers, and those who deal with crops that are vulnerable to bacterial diseases. The book contains 13 chapters featuring bacterial diseases of individual crops and is illustrated with full color photographs throughout providing amazing characterization of the diseases. It also includes information on bacterial diseases that appear on different crops across the continents, thereby making the content of interest to plant pathologists around the world. Bacterial diseases are of great economic concern, and their importance in overall losses caused by various other pathogens, such as fungi and viruses, is often undermined in developing countries.

  • Pages : 322 pages

Download or read book The Pear Genome written by Schuyler S. Korban and published by Springer. This book was released on 2019-07-03 with total page 322 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Addressing the pear genome, this book covers the current state of knowledge regarding genetic and genomic resources, breeding approaches and strategies, as well as cutting-edge content on how these tools and resources are being / soon will be utilized to pursue genetic improvement efforts that will combine fruit quality, high productivity, precocious fruit bearing, and long postharvest storage life, along with elevated levels of resistance to various major diseases and insect pests. Throughout, the book also explores potential opportunities and challenges in genomic analysis, sequence assembly, structural features, as well as functional studies that will assist in future genetic improvement efforts for pears. The pear (Pyrus), an important tree fruit crop, is grown worldwide, and has several economically relevant cultivars. In recent years, modern genetic and genomic tools have resulted in the development of a wide variety of valuable resources for the pear. In the past few years, completion of whole genome assemblies of ‘Dangshansuli’, an Asian pear, and ‘Bartlett’, a European pear, have paved the way for new discoveries regarding for example, the pear’s genomic structure, chromosome evolution, and patterns of genetic variation. This wealth of new resources will have a major impact on our knowledge of the pear genome; in turn, these resources and knowledge will have significant impacts on future genetic improvement efforts.
