Book The Bartle Dunford Schwartz Integral

Download or read book The Bartle Dunford Schwartz Integral written by Thiruvaiyaru V. Panchapagesan and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2008-08-17 with total page 311 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume is a thorough and comprehensive treatise on vector measures, treating the vectorial Radon integration in detail. It explores an interplay between, on the one side, linear operators, transferring real (complex) functions onto elements of locally convex Hausdorff spaces, and vector-valued measures, on the other. The book contains not only a large amount of new material but also corrects various errors in well-known results available in the literature.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this survey the authors endeavor to give a comprehensive examination of the theory of measures having values in Banach spaces. The interplay between topological and geometric properties of Banach spaces and the properties of measures having values in Banach spaces is the unifying theme. The first chapter deals with countably additive vector measures finitely additive vector measures, the Orlicz-Pettis theorem and its relatives. Chapter II concentrates on measurable vector valued functions and the Bochner integral. Chapter III begins the study of the interplay among the Radon-Nikodym theorem for vector measures, operators on $L_1$ and topological properties of Banach spaces. A variety of applications is given in the next chapter. Chapter V deals with martingales of Bochner integrable functions and their relation to dentable subsets of Banach spaces. Chapter VI is devoted to a measure-theoretic study of weakly compact absolutely summing and nuclear operators on spaces of continuous functions. In Chapter VII a detailed study of the geometry of Banach spaces with the Radon-Nikodym property is given. The next chapter deals with the use of Radon-Nikodym theorems in the study of tensor products of Banach spaces. The last chapter concludes the survey with a discussion of the Liapounoff convexity theorem and other geometric properties of the range of a vector measure. Accompanying each chapter is an extensive survey of the literature and open problems.

Book Foundations of Stochastic Analysis

Download or read book Foundations of Stochastic Analysis written by M. M. Rao and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2014-07-10 with total page 310 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Foundations of Stochastic Analysis deals with the foundations of the theory of Kolmogorov and Bochner and its impact on the growth of stochastic analysis. Topics covered range from conditional expectations and probabilities to projective and direct limits, as well as martingales and likelihood ratios. Abstract martingales and their applications are also discussed. Comprised of five chapters, this volume begins with an overview of the basic Kolmogorov-Bochner theorem, followed by a discussion on conditional expectations and probabilities containing several characterizations of operators and measures. The applications of these conditional expectations and probabilities to Reynolds operators are also considered. The reader is then introduced to projective limits, direct limits, and a generalized Kolmogorov existence theorem, along with infinite product conditional probability measures. The book also considers martingales and their applications to likelihood ratios before concluding with a description of abstract martingales and their applications to convergence and harmonic analysis, as well as their relation to ergodic theory. This monograph should be of considerable interest to researchers and graduate students working in stochastic analysis.

Book excerpt: International Series of Monographs in Pure and Applied Mathematics, Volume 95: Vector Measures focuses on the study of measures with values in a Banach space, including positive measures with finite or infinite values. This book is organized into three chapters. Chapter I covers classes of sets, set functions, variation and semi-variation of set functions, and extension of set functions from a certain class to a wider one. The integration of vector functions with respect to vector measures is reviewed in Chapter II. In Chapter III, the regular measures on a locally compact space and integral representation of the dominated operations on the space of continuous functions with compact carrier are described. This volume is intended for specialists, researchers, and students interested in vector measures.

Book Singular Bilinear Integrals

Download or read book Singular Bilinear Integrals written by Brian Raymond Frederick Jefferies and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2017-01-18 with total page 253 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: 'This is a deep and beautiful monograph in functional analysis, at the interface with mathematical physics.'Mathematical ReviewsThe integration of vector valued functions with respect to vector valued measures, especially spectral measures, is developed in view of applications in operator theory, scattering theory and semiclassical approximation in quantum physics. New techniques are developed for bilinear integration in cases where the classical approach does not apply.

Book The Elements of Integration and Lebesgue Measure

Download or read book The Elements of Integration and Lebesgue Measure written by Robert G. Bartle and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2014-08-21 with total page 121 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Consists of two separate but closely related parts. Originally published in 1966, the first section deals with elements of integration and has been updated and corrected. The latter half details the main concepts of Lebesgue measure and uses the abstract measure space approach of the Lebesgue integral because it strikes directly at the most important results—the convergence theorems.

Book Optimal Domain and Integral Extension of Operators

Download or read book Optimal Domain and Integral Extension of Operators written by S. Okada and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2008-09-09 with total page 406 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book deals with the analysis of linear operators from a quasi-Banach function space into a Banach space. The central theme is to extend the operator to as large a (function) space as possible, its optimal domain, and to take advantage of this in analyzing the original operator. Most of the material appears in print for the first time. The book has an interdisciplinary character and is aimed at graduates, postgraduates, and researchers in modern operator theory.

Book Operator Valued Measures and Integrals for Cone Valued Functions

Download or read book Operator Valued Measures and Integrals for Cone Valued Functions written by Walter Roth and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2009-02-05 with total page 370 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Integration theory deals with extended real-valued, vector-valued, or operator-valued measures and functions, but different approaches are used for each case. This book develops a general theory of integration that simultaneously deals with all three cases.

Book Topological Vector Spaces and Their Applications

Download or read book Topological Vector Spaces and Their Applications written by V.I. Bogachev and published by Springer. This book was released on 2017-05-16 with total page 466 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book gives a compact exposition of the fundamentals of the theory of locally convex topological vector spaces. Furthermore it contains a survey of the most important results of a more subtle nature, which cannot be regarded as basic, but knowledge which is useful for understanding applications. Finally, the book explores some of such applications connected with differential calculus and measure theory in infinite-dimensional spaces. These applications are a central aspect of the book, which is why it is different from the wide range of existing texts on topological vector spaces. Overall, this book develops differential and integral calculus on infinite-dimensional locally convex spaces by using methods and techniques of the theory of locally convex spaces. The target readership includes mathematicians and physicists whose research is related to infinite-dimensional analysis.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book presents a wide-ranging approach to operator-valued measures and integrals of both vector-valued and set-valued functions. It covers convergence theorems and an integral representation for linear operators on spaces of continuous vector-valued functions on a locally compact space. These are used to extend Choquet theory, which was originally formulated for linear functionals on spaces of real-valued functions, to operators of this type.
