Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The summary of this book is very simple and clear cut to me and I hope to make a clear point to all of my readers. There are some very serious and real situations that have become a problem in society today that need to be addressed urgently. First and foremost is Human Trafficking. All of us, my self included, are at risk everyday of the dangers of being abducted and held for ransom, sold, traded or trained and caged like animals for the pleasure and enjoyment of others who find themselves above the law. Those individuals, who believe it is ok to steal, trade and/ or sell Human Life, as though its some kind of commodity. Another major issue we face in society today is what some call polygamy, which I myself consider multi-partner marriages. Polygamy is the vulgar and accurate term for the sick individuals who hypnotize others into false and unscrupulous acts of lifestyle. On the other hand, Multi-partner marriages are in a category of there own, completely different than how some men in this country choose to act and distort the true meaning of marriage and being the head of a household. Accompany me into the true definition of real love and affection for others, along with the dramatized effects of what vigilante Justice will change and possibly stop entirely if taken into the hands of those affected by the very unusual and cruel acts of human behavior. Eye 4 won refuse to stand by and watch it continue to happen in society around me. While the true predators distort and tangle the real meaning of true compassion. This is not what God intended us to do to less aggressive or more vulnerable people in the world for our own financial, personal or political gain. Join me in my journey to bring awareness to the public about the problems at hand and help put a stop to our loved ones falling victim to the predators at large today. Along side finding those missing today from our lives we once shared and continue to hold so close to our hearts in hopes of their eventual safe return.

Book excerpt: Three years ago I met a woman, one I was instantly attracted to. Problem was, I was interviewing her for a teaching position at our school. I backed off. My best friend, the man who was like a brother to me took one look at her... and called dibs. Prick. He was not one to date, so I backed off. I watched as she turned out to be a spy, and his soul mate. I sat back and watched each of my brothers pair off. I knew that would never happen to me, because the only woman I ever entertained the idea of more with, was now my sister. That is, until I met my Avenging Angel. The tiniest and most dangerous woman you would ever meet. She was on a mission, a mission to avenge the death of her sister. Her target - the person who had called a war on our family. The person who was attacking my family when we should have been safe. The person who was now targeting our school. Avenging Angel is the last official book in The Cooper Family Chronicles. As always, it can be read as a standalone, or within the series. The Cooper Family make appearances in many of my other books. So they are never far away. This book may contain triggers and is not meant to be read by those under the age of 18.

Book Angels and Angelology in the Middle Ages

Download or read book Angels and Angelology in the Middle Ages written by David Keck and published by Oxford University Press. This book was released on 1998-07-23 with total page 279 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Recently angels have made a remarkable comeback in the popular imagination; their real heyday, however, was the Middle Ages. From the great shrines dedicated to Michael the Archangel at Mont-St-Michel and Monte Garano to the elaborate metaphysical speculations of the great thirteenth-century scholastics, angels dominated the physical, temporal, and intellectual landscape of the medieval West. This book offers a full-scale study of angels and angelology in the Middle Ages. Seeking to discover how and why angels became so important in medieval society, David Keck considers a wide range of fascinating questions such as: Why do angels appear on baptismal fonts? How and why did angels become normative for certain members of the church? How did they become a required course of study? Did popular beliefs about angels diverge from the angelologies of the theologians? Why did some heretics claim to derive their authority from heavenly spirits? Keck spreads his net wide in the attempt to catch traces of angels and angelic beliefs in as many portions of the medieval world as possible. Metaphysics and mystery plays, prayers and pilgrimages, Cathars and cathedrals-all these and many more disparate sources taken together reveal a society deeply engaged with angels on all its levels and in some unlikely ways.

Following a racially motivated rape by three Ku Klux Klansmen, 12-year-old Cassandra Monroe vows revenge. After eight years of training, now a strikingly beautiful assassin, she accomplishes her mission. Her campaign continues with solitary walks through dark city streets, hoping to be assaulted by men with bad intentions. Those entrapped by her spider’s web pay dearly for their efforts. Surrounded by three armed men one night, she’s rescued by Mike Borelli, an Italian-American passerby. A stormy, up-and-down relationship ensues. Ultimately, as her rage matures into purposeful action, and as he begins to see the world through her eyes, they become a team. Along the way, they encounter serial killers, wife-beaters, actual and would-be rapists, gangsters, crooked cops, a kidnapper and a pedophile priest, as well as numerous women in desperate need of their help. Book Playbills to Photoplays

Download or read book Playbills to Photoplays written by New England Vintage Film Society Inc. and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2010-12-01 with total page 569 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "They were pioneers in the most glamorous business in the world, and you only know half of their story. Playbills To Photoplays reveals colorful episodes in the lives of the stars before they became stars. Everyone saw them, but few knew where they came from. This collection of essays follows some of the most famous names in show business from Vaudeville and Broadway to Hollywood, revealing a part of their lives that movie historians have neglected -- until now. I think this book is terrific. It's a must read for any fan of the silver screen, and the days when movie stars were real stars." - Morgan Loew, great-grandson of Adolph Zukor, founder, Paramount Pictures, and Marcus Loew, founder, Loews Theaters and MGM. "Ms. Loew's choice of performers to write about is amazingly diverse and fascinating, from character actors like Conrad Veidt to major stars like Katharine Hepburn. She has written a most compelling book about their transitions from stage to film... many of the stories new to me. Wonderful!" - Joan Benny, daughter of comedian, Jack Benny, one of America's greatest entertainment icons of the 20th century, whose career included vaudeville, radio, movies and television. "A nice compilation of essays on film stars who made the transition from the stage to early talkies with essays on Al Jolson, Mae West, Eddie Cantor, Harpo Marx, Spencer Tracy, Clark Gable, Charley Grapewin, Ed Wynn, and the Morgans (Frank and Ralph). Some essays were much better than others - I loved the one on the Morgans, Burns and Allen, Harpo Marx, and Katharine Hepburn... I would highly recommend the book as it gives you a good idea what vaudeville and the Broadway stage was like in the early 20's and what it was about these stars that allowed them to make the transition." -Librarything.com "....big stars as well as a raft of character actors, and decorated with dozens of striking photos...perceptive close-ups that make for vibrant film criticism...engaging profiles of Old Hollywood icons..." - Kirkus "Performers attempting to breakthrough will find this book inspirational!" - An Aspiring Actor Motion pictures with recorded sound --known as "talking pictures", or "talkies"--signaled the end of silent films and created some of the greatest entertainment icons of the twentieth century. Playbills To Photoplays: Stage Performers Who Pioneered the Talkies introduces a new generation to the real life struggles and careers of talented, hard working, early twentieth century vaudeville and stage entertainers who migrated to sound film. Twenty-eight essays and over one hundred photographs examine the actors before, during, and after the revolutionary new sound film technology catapulted many of them to superstardom during Hollywood's Golden Age. Playbills To Photoplays: Stage Performers Who Pioneered the Talkies explains the social, political, economic, historical, and cultural issues that shaped each performer's body of work, acting technique, persona, and public following over time.

Book Cultural Complexes and the Soul of America

Download or read book Cultural Complexes and the Soul of America written by Thomas Singer and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2020-05-07 with total page 284 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Cultural Complexes and the Soul of America explores many of the cultural complexes that comprise the collective psychic-filtering system of emotions, ideas, and beliefs that possess the United States today. With chapters by an international selection of leading authors, the book covers ideas both broad and specific, and presents unique insight into the current state of the nation. The voices included in this volume amplify contemporary concerns, linking them to themes which have existed in the American psyche for decades while also looking to the future. Part One examines meta themes, including history, purity, dominion, and democracy in the age of Trump. Part Two looks at key complexes including race, gender, the environment, immigration, national character, and medicine. The overall message is that it is in wrestling with these complexes that the soul of America is forged or undone. This highly relevant book will be essential reading for academics and students of Jungian and post-Jungian ideas, politics, sociology, and American studies. It will also be of great interest to Jungian analysts in practice and in training, and anyone interested in the current state of the US.

Book An Episode of Sparrows

Download or read book An Episode of Sparrows written by Rumer Godden and published by New York Review of Books. This book was released on 2016-05-10 with total page 265 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An emergency meeting of the Mortimer Square Garden Committee has been convened to discuss a most alarming matter: Someone has been digging in the garden and making off with buckets of dirt. Miss Angela Chesney is sure that a gang of boys from run-down Catford Street is to blame. But Angela’s sister, Olivia, isn’t so sure. Olivia has always wondered why the neighborhood children—the “sparrows” she sometimes watches from the window of her house—are kept out of the private garden. Don’t they have a right to enjoy the place, too? But neither Angela nor Olivia has any idea what sent the neighborhood waif Lovejoy Mason and her few friends in search of good, rich earth. Still less do they imagine where their investigation of the incident will lead them—to a struggling restaurant, a bombed-out church, and at the heart of it all, a hidden garden.
