Book States International Organizations and Strategic Partnerships

Download or read book States International Organizations and Strategic Partnerships written by Lucyna Czechowska and published by Edward Elgar Publishing. This book was released on 2019 with total page 567 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In post-Cold War international relations, strategic partnerships are an emerging and distinct analytical and political category critical in understanding the dynamics of contemporary strategic cooperation between states and International Organizations. However, the idea of strategic partnerships has remained under-theorized and overshadowed by the alliance theory. Addressing this clear-cut gap in the International Relations/Foreign Policy Analysis literature, this book originally endeavors to theorize and empirically test the analytical model of strategic partnerships as a new form of sustainable international cooperation in times of globalized interdependence and turbulence.

Book Australia China Relations post 1949

Download or read book Australia China Relations post 1949 written by Yi Wang and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2016-04-08 with total page 264 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book challenges the common perceptions of Australian dependence upon great-power allies in the conduct of its foreign relations through a critical examination of Australia's relations with the People's Republic of China. The author focuses on the economic and political dimensions of the policy-making process from the founding of the PRC in 1949 to the present era, against an analytical framework that takes into account both internal and external factors in the formulation and implementation of Australian foreign policy. Informed by political science and international relations, the book differs from the conventional literature on Sino-Australian relations, which has either focused on pure economic analysis or concentrated on chronicling historical events. The author weaves theoretical insights from political science and international relations into the historical analysis while seeking to examine the interplay between political and economic factors over time in shaping policy outcomes. The book draws not only on primary and secondary sources but also on information and insights obtained from interviews with a vast array of direct participants in the policy process, including almost all the former ambassadors from both China and Australia, covering the entire period of the diplomatic relationship. As a result, the book breaks new ground, especially from the Hawke era onwards, revealing hitherto overlooked details of interest in the policy process.

Book Routledge Handbook of Public Diplomacy

Download or read book Routledge Handbook of Public Diplomacy written by Nancy Snow and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2020-01-20 with total page 529 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The second edition of the Routledge Handbook of Public Diplomacy, co-edited by two leading scholars in the international relations subfield of public diplomacy, includes 16 more chapters from the first. Ten years later, a new global landscape of public diplomacy has taken shape, with major programs in graduate-level public diplomacy studies worldwide. What separates this handbook from others is its legacy and continuity from the first edition. This first edition line-up was more military-focused than this edition, a nod to the work of Philip M. Taylor, to whom this updated edition is dedicated. This edition includes US content, but all case studies are outside the United States, not only to appeal to a global audience of scholars and practitioners, but also as a way of offering something fresher than the US/UK-centric competition. In Parts 1–4, original contributors are retained, many with revised editions, but new faces emerge. Parts 5 and 6 include 16 global case studies in public diplomacy, expanding the number of contributors by ten. The concluding part of the book includes chapters on digital and corporate public diplomacy, and a signature final chapter on the noosphere and noopolitik as they relate to public diplomacy. Designed for a broad audience, the Routledge Handbook of Public Diplomacy is encyclopedic in its range and depth of content, yet is written in an accessible style that will appeal to both undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Book Progress and Developments of the Churches in the Samoan Islands Early 21St Century

Download or read book Progress and Developments of the Churches in the Samoan Islands Early 21St Century written by Fuimaono Fini Aitaoto and published by LifeRich Publishing. This book was released on 2021-05-25 with total page 354 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: If you’re interested in Church-related events on the American Samoan islands during the early twenty-first century, then you need this book. Following up on his first book on the history of the Assemblies of God Church in American Samoa, author Fuimaono Fini Aitaoto delves deeper into church life on these South Pacific islands. Geared for Bible college students, pastors, and researchers, he answers questions such as: • What role has Christianity played in the lives of most Samoans? • What notable changes have recently occurred within American Samoa’s churches? • What is the financial condition of various churches? • What role does politics play in church life? While there is ample literature on the history and developments of churches in American Samoa and the Pacific from the late 1800s to the 1980s, there are not nearly as many resources updating the world on new church developments. This book fills that void.

Book Eyewitness to Early Reform in Myanmar

Download or read book Eyewitness to Early Reform in Myanmar written by Trevor Wilson and published by ANU Press. This book was released on 2016-03-17 with total page 179 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: By 2000, a ruthless military regime had ruled Myanmar for more than a decade, polarising opinion inside and outside Burma/Myanmar — with Western countries locked into non-UN sanctions and Asian countries and the rest of the world locked into unenthusiastic cooperation with Myanmar. While the United Nations and its agencies faced numerous obstacles as they sought to encourage national reconciliation in Myanmar, conditions in Myanmar were slowly starting to change. With a reform faction in charge, the military regime itself after 1999 slowly began experimenting with modest changes, before committing in 2008 to transfer power via a constitutional referendum and national elections, both of which it effectively controlled. This book provides the first eyewitness account of the early reform experiments.
