Book The Art of Cosmic Vision

Download or read book The Art of Cosmic Vision written by Mantak Chia and published by Simon and Schuster. This book was released on 2010-03-09 with total page 124 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: How to achieve perfect vision naturally through proven eye-training methods • Explains how vision problems are related to imbalances in the internal organs • Provides Taoist and Ayurvedic practices for harmonizing the liver and kidneys, the organs directly associated with eye problems In the West, problems with eyesight are treated separately from overall health, usually with prescription glasses or contact lenses. But Eastern systems of holistic healing view the eyes as mirrors of physical health. Eye problems reflect problems with the internal organs, most specifically the liver and kidneys. The Art of Cosmic Vision offers Taoist healing sound exercises for strengthening the liver and kidneys as well as seven internal Chi Kung exercises and Dao-Yin self-massage practices for toning the organ meridians. It also provides extensive dietary recommendations, including a complete Ayurvedic analysis of the three main nutritional body types. The wide variety of eye-strengthening exercises in The Art of Cosmic Vision includes the Egyptian Black Dot technique, the Taoist Long Swing technique, the Tai Chi Rocker Eye technique, and relaxing Yoga Eye Palming techniques. Rather than viewing the ciliary muscle within the eye as the only muscle responsible for focus, these exercises improve focus by training all of the muscles surrounding the eyes. With attention to improved diet, physical exercise, and these proven eye-training techniques, readers can restore their vision to vibrant health.

It has not been thought necessary to change the form of their original delivery or publication where the form is an integral part of the text: but otherwise the texts of the various pieces have been revised and largely rewritten, and the writer has endeavoured throughout to adjust them all to the main purpose of the collection and republication, which is to make clear the point of view from which they have been written and the vision to which it gives access, of which the several ideals sketched may be taken to be estates as seen from the heights. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A foremost thinker on science and religion argues that an adequate understanding of cosmic history requires attention to the emergence of interiority, including religious aspiration Over the past two centuries scientific advances have made it clear that the universe is a story still unfolding. In this thought-provoking book, John F. Haught considers the deeper implications of this discovery. He contends that many others who have written books on life and the universe--including Stephen Hawking, Stephen Jay Gould, and Richard Dawkins--have overlooked a crucial aspect of cosmic history: the drama of life's awakening to interiority and religious awareness. Science may illuminate the outside story of the universe, but a full telling of the cosmic story cannot ignore the inside development that interiority represents. Haught addresses two primary questions: what does the arrival of religion tell us about the universe, and what does our understanding of the cosmos as an unfinished drama tell us about religion? The history of religion may be ambiguous and sometimes even barbarous, he asserts, but its role in the story of cosmic emergence and awakening must be taken into account.

Book excerpt: Astrology has been found in civilizations worldwide and throughout history. It has greatly influenced the philosophy, religion, art, and magic of Western culture and has inspired countless decisions and guided people in their daily lives. Traditional Western astrology differs from your typical daily Sun-sign horoscopes. While it still follows the course of the Zodiac through the Heavens, it grounds itself in the seven classical planets-great celestial spheres that the ancients gazed upon for guidance and wisdom. Traditional astrology is a holistic framework that melds the influence of the stars with your experience here on Earth to help you understand the Cosmos, your place within it, and the power to transform your fate. With it, you can integrate the entire vision of the Heavens into your magical and divinatory practices, for traditional Astrology is the cosmic playing field upon which both magic and divination intertwine. The power of astrology is a path for humans to understand the sacred. You aren't just naming stars. You are naming and discovering gods. You are seeking angels. You are seeing reflections of your own experience, your hopes and fears. By working with the systems of astrology and its magic, you can connect to the infinite chain of divinity in creation and find within your own microcosmic soul that golden light that tethers you to the macrocosmic soul of the All!

Book The Art of Building in the Classical World

Download or read book The Art of Building in the Classical World written by John R. Senseney and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 2011-03-14 with total page 263 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book examines the application of drawing in the design process of classical architecture, exploring how the tools and techniques of drawing developed for architecture subsequently shaped theories of vision and representations of the universe in science and philosophy. Building on recent scholarship that examines and reconstructs the design process of classical architecture, John R. Senseney focuses on technical drawing in the building trade as a model for the expression of visual order, showing that the techniques of ancient Greek drawing actively determined concepts about the world. He argues that the uniquely Greek innovations of graphic construction determined principles that shaped the massing, special qualities and refinements of buildings and the manner in which order itself was envisioned.

Book Satellite Formation Flying

Download or read book Satellite Formation Flying written by S. Mathavaraj and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2021-04-16 with total page 154 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Small satellite technology is opening up a new era in space exploration offering reduced cost of launch and maintenance, operational flexibility with on-orbit reconfiguration, redundancy etc. The true power of such missions can be harnessed only from close and precise formation flying of satellites. Formation flying missions support diverse application areas such as reconnaissance, remote sensing, solar observatory, deep space observatories, etc. A key component involved in formation flying is the guidance algorithm that should account for system nonlinearities and unknown disturbances. The main focus of this book is to present various nonlinear optimal control and adaptive guidance ideas to ensure precise close formation flying in presence of such difficulties. In addition to in-depth discussion of the relevant topics, MATLAB program files for the results included are also provided for the benefit of the readers. Since this book has concise information about the various guidance techniques, it will be useful reference for researchers and practising engineers in the space field.

Book I m This I m That I m in the World

Download or read book I m This I m That I m in the World written by Rahill Jamalifard and published by . This book was released on 2021-01-30 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: During quarantine I started a series called 'primitive portraits,' drawings done in crayon and pencil of artists who've had influence in my life. Just as Covid began its pillage in the United States, I was coming off a west coast tour and had plans of spending time upstate to relax and decompress. Then boom--Covid went full throttle and I found myself up here, no reception, no internet, no books, no records, no instruments. So I picked up a pack of crayons at the supermarket as a saving grace to connect me back into avenues of remedial creation. Crazy how a thirty minute daily routine can bring you solace and healing as powerful as meditation. Not only was that inspiring... reconnecting to my deepest roots in art, drawing, the place where creating began for me, and using the same medium (crayon) was kind of wild. Anyway, that?s a long enough description for sharing these crude drawings, but ya know what, who cares.

Book excerpt: The gospel of Jesus Christ is not about what Jesus can do for your life. It is not even the answer to the question, "How can I be saved?" It is the declaration of a victory. In His coming to earth, His suffering, and His Resurrection, Christ conquered demons, sin, and death. In Arise, O God, author and podcaster Fr. Andrew Stephen Damick introduces us to the spiritual war that Christ won by His victory, how we are caught in that war's cosmic crossfire, what the true content of the gospel is-and how we are to respond.

Book Cosmic Fusion

Download or read book Cosmic Fusion written by Mantak Chia and published by Simon and Schuster. This book was released on 2007-08-27 with total page 338 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A guide to the advanced practice of Inner Alchemy, which brings the physical body into balance with the energy body • Presents the second level of Inner Alchemy practices that use the eight forces of the pakua (bagwa) to collect, gather, and condense chi in the body • Explains how to balance negative emotional energy with positive energy to detoxify, nourish, and integrate the physical and the energy body with the forces of nature • Shows how to collect and channel the greater energies of the stars and planets to create unity between what is above and below Cosmic Fusion is an advanced level of Inner Alchemy that teaches how to bring the physical body into balance with the energy body--a necessary prerequisite for the formation of the universal body, the pearl of compassion that is one with Original Creation and the Universal Tao. Cosmic Fusion works with the expression of the eight pakua (bagwa) of Chinese cosmology, through which all creation is divided and given form, nature, and definition. Cosmic Fusion exercises establish the spiritual body firmly in the lower abdomen, where chi energy is gathered and distributed to all parts of the body--and into all creation. The fully illustrated exercises in this book also show how to collect and channel the greater energies of the stars and planets. By “fusing” all these different energies together, a harmonious whole is created, a unity of what is above and below. As heavenly and earthly forces are brought into balance, the life perfectly suited to the practitioner manifests, allowing the spirit body to prepare to move into worlds beyond--and back.

Book Lumen Naturae

  • Author : Matilde Marcolli
  • Publisher : MIT Press
  • Release : 2020-05-26

Download or read book Lumen Naturae written by Matilde Marcolli and published by MIT Press. This book was released on 2020-05-26 with total page 390 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Exploring common themes in modern art, mathematics, and science, including the concept of space, the notion of randomness, and the shape of the cosmos. This is a book about art—and a book about mathematics and physics. In Lumen Naturae (the title refers to a purely immanent, non-supernatural form of enlightenment), mathematical physicist Matilde Marcolli explores common themes in modern art and modern science—the concept of space, the notion of randomness, the shape of the cosmos, and other puzzles of the universe—while mapping convergences with the work of such artists as Paul Cezanne, Mark Rothko, Sol LeWitt, and Lee Krasner. Her account, focusing on questions she has investigated in her own scientific work, is illustrated by more than two hundred color images of artworks by modern and contemporary artists. Thus Marcolli finds in still life paintings broad and deep philosophical reflections on space and time, and connects notions of space in mathematics to works by Paul Klee, Salvador Dalí, and others. She considers the relation of entropy and art and how notions of entropy have been expressed by such artists as Hans Arp and Fernand Léger; and traces the evolution of randomness as a mode of artistic expression. She analyzes the relation between graphical illustration and scientific text, and offers her own watercolor-decorated mathematical notebooks. Throughout, she balances discussions of science with explorations of art, using one to inform the other. (She employs some formal notation, which can easily be skipped by general readers.) Marcolli is not simply explaining art to scientists and science to artists; she charts unexpected interdependencies that illuminate the universe.
