The underground scan, used from an airplane, has an accuracy beyond anything achieved and uncovers a perfectly preserved dinosaur beneath a sea cliff. Only what they think is an unknown species of dinosaur, perfectly preserved by an unidentified means, is one of many alien species captured and placed in suspended animation on the alien artifact before it crashed there millions years ago. All the creatures are found buried away in rock but they cannot detach them and they can only remove the entire area beneath them, and alien artifact there. The alien artifact has a small black flying saucer shape but with its energy field on and covered in rock it resembles a block of black stone, and they take it away on a ship and place it in a museum, and only start to determine that it is far more than they thought possible when the mechanism to open the entrance is unwittingly activated and a small hole mysteriously appears in it and reveals that it is a form of alien artifact.
