Book Alchemically Stoned The Psychedelic Secret of Freemasonry

Download or read book Alchemically Stoned The Psychedelic Secret of Freemasonry written by P.D. Newman and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2017-06-21 with total page 194 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: P.D. Newman's bold and daring theory provides a radical interpretation of Masonic symbolism. In the tradition of Wasson, Hofmann and Ruck, in ""The Road to Eleusis: Unveiling the Secret of the Mysteries"" (1978), and Heinrich's ""Strange Fruit: Alchemy, Religion, and Magical Foods"" (1995), Newman suggests that practical psychoactive pharmacology, rather than philosophy, lies concealed in the root of some of our allegories and mysteries. Admitting to being more than a mere theoretician, Newman draws from his own personal experiences, and a wide range of sources, in presenting his theory in a logical manner, which merits consideration. - Arturo De Hoyos, 33* Grand Archivist and Grand Historian Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite, Southern Jurisdiction

Book Secret Practices of the Sufi Freemasons

Download or read book Secret Practices of the Sufi Freemasons written by Baron Rudolf von Sebottendorff and published by Simon and Schuster. This book was released on 2013-01-17 with total page 65 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Reveals the secret spiritual exercises of the Bektashi Order of Sufis • Shows how this order, also known as Oriental Freemasonry, preserves the ancient spiritual doctrines forgotten by modern Freemasonry • Explains how to transform the soul into the alchemical Magnum Opus by combining Masonic grips and the abbreviated letters of the Qur’an • Includes a detailed biography of Baron von Sebottendorff Originally published in Germany in 1924, this rare book by Baron Rudolf von Sebottendorff reveals the secret spiritual exercises of the Bektashi Order of Sufis as well as how this order, also known as Oriental Freemasonry, preserves the ancient spiritual doctrines forgotten by modern Freemasonry. Sebottendorff explains how the mysterious abbreviated letters found in the Qur’an represent formulas for perfecting the spirit of the individual. When combined with Masonic hand signs and grips and conducted accordingly to a precise schedule, these formulas incorporate spiritual power into the body and transform the soul from its base state into a noble, godlike state: the Magnum Opus of the medieval alchemists. Laying out the complete program of spiritual exercises, Sebottendorff explains each abbreviated word-formula in the Qur’an, the hand gestures that go with them, and the exact order and duration for each exercise. Including a detailed biography of Sebottendorff and an examination of alchemy’s Islamic heritage, this book shows how the traditions of Oriental Freemasonry can ennoble the self and lead to higher knowledge.

Book The Grand Communication

Download or read book The Grand Communication written by Nathan Schick and published by . This book was released on 2023-09-27 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Is the central character in the Masonic ritual "Hiram Abiff" a Biblical cover for Hermes Trismegistus? Does the Masonic ritual contain encoded secret Hermetic knowledge of alchemy, astrology, and magic? During the tumultuous period leading up to the Thirty Years War and English Civil War, the best and brightest minds searched desperately for something - anything - which could soothe the tensions and re-unite people across religious confessions and political partisanship. Intriguingly alchemy and alchemical symbols emerged as a theme promoted by authors from a variety of affiliations. But with the Inquisition in the background and tensions high, Biblical framing of the secrets was essential. Infusing secret knowledge into the initiation rituals of the decaying Stone Masons guild as it shifted from a medieval labor union to a social club, alchemists fundamentally changed speculative Freemasonry at the dawn of the Age of Exploration and Colonization into a dynamo of social cohesion and unity. Yet early lodges were universally held in taverns. Overnight, a network of brewhouses, alehouses, and pubs popped up hosting Masonic lodges, with craft brewers experimenting with new flora and fauna. Their results could be quite literally enchanting, particularly in a secret initiation. Had Masonic lodges discovered the Stone of the Wise? The Grand Communication provides a fresh look at early Freemasonry's ritual and symbols to examine the nature of the Biblical and alchemical themes.

Book The Secret Psychology of Freemasonry Alchemy Gnosis and the Science of the Craft

Download or read book The Secret Psychology of Freemasonry Alchemy Gnosis and the Science of the Craft written by Cliff Porter and published by . This book was released on 2011-06-01 with total page 222 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Masonic ritual contains a veiled secret which points toward a hidden psychological current, inherent in the Western Mystical Tradition. This scarcely perceivable sentient science has manifested throughout the ages within the ancient Gnostic schools, the writings of the great Hermetic philosophers, and the noble art of Freemasonry. These institutions have operated as a means of perpetuating a method of personal typology and perception, which is essential to human interaction. The intrinsic numerological correspondences of Craft ritual contain the keys to perfecting this powerful system of communication and the Self. This seminal work provides a practical framework, through which the student can master his own typology, understand the elements of perception, and utilize vital communication techniques which can unlock the very mysteries of human existence. By employing techniques as diverse as Jungian psychoanalysis, Masonic geometry, and alchemical parable, Porter has formulated a unique and timely tome that is certain to revolutionize the perceptions of contemporary Masonic culture and the means by which we articulate ideas. We can detect deception, influence others, effect positive change, and synthesize a unique cognitive vernacular, specifically crafted to convey the most profound Masonic truths.

Download or read book Freemasonry Spiritual Alchemy written by Christopher Earnshaw and published by . This book was released on 2019-08-09 with total page 262 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In 1716 four Lodges of Operative Masons met at the Apple Tree Tavern in London and decided to create a "Grand Lodge" to reorganize Freemasonry, which was slowly dying out. After the establishment of the Premier Grand Lodge the next year, 1717, one of the Lodges, the Rummer and Grapes, took a decidedly new direction that resulted in the creation of what would later become known as Speculative Freemasonry, the basis of modern Freemasonry. However, as there is very little documentation from this period, many questions are left unanswered: *Why three educated and busy men decided to rewrite the ritual of a stonemasons' guild, when they were neither stonemasons nor manual workers. *Why the first three Grand Masters gave eight years of their lives to this cause. Not only that, but why they thought it necessary to add a third degree to the ritual. *Why the literati and aristocracy of Europe were motivated to join these three men, an antiquarian, a Huguenot priest and a possible alchemist, in a room above a tavern to study the new degrees. *Why there is a "key to the rituals" that Desaguliers referred to in the Constitutions of 1723. *Why the first three Grand Masters were interested in "making good men better," when they were also not philanthropists. *Why the first three Grand Masters used steganography to hide secrets in the rituals, making them a puzzle for Freemasons to discover. *Lastly, and probably most importantly, why the English nobility (and later royalty) believed so strongly in what these three men had conceived that they lent their names to the enterprise by becoming its figurehead, Grand Masters. This book answers these questions, and more!

Book A Traditional Observance Lodge

Download or read book A Traditional Observance Lodge written by Cliff Porter and published by . This book was released on 2013-05-01 with total page 246 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The author's home lodge is different. They suffer from higher than 100% attendance, men wait periods of longer than a year to get initiated, they have never lost a single Entered Apprentice, they have nobody on the roles who is NPD or has been dropped for NPD. Men arrive on lodge days at 8:00 a.m. and are often reluctently leaving for home near midnight or 2:00 a.m. Their dues are high by American standards, the background check is rigorous, and the initiations are solemn and serious. Every lodge meeting is treated as an event and celebrated as such. Dinner is treated as a feast with all its positive connotations. Freemasonry is celebrated in every aspect of the lodge. From the artwork, the furnishings, the set up and the atomosopher; all aspects of the lodge meeting are intentional and meant to create an experience. The Lodge is a Traditional Observance Lodge or T.O. Lodge as it is called by some. Like all labels, the Traditional Observance label has caused fear and fright, anger and frustration, confusion, and edicts. It has also helped to define the practices that make the author's lodge one of the most successful lodges in the United States by any standard one might choose to measure it. This book does not claim to provide a Masonic magic pill for the ailing lodges of the world. Nor does it claim in any fashion or form that the way this author's lodge operates is the only way or the best way to operate. What this book does is explain the the Traditional Observance model and encourages ideas in the area of increasing the lodge experience and allowing quality to become the watchword over every aspect of Freemasonry. The writings contains a mixture of personal experiences, practicle advice, and real life examples for creating a Traditional Observance lodge or increasing your lodges fulfillment.
