Download or read book The Adventure written by Steve Taylor and published by New World Library. This book was released on 2024-01-23 with total page 234 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Step-by-step practices for cultivating spiritual awakening, from a renowned spiritual psychologist who has studied the phenomenon in hundreds of people and experienced it himself Steve Taylor has devoted his life to investigating spiritual awakening. In his books The Leap and Extraordinary Awakenings, he discussed case histories of dozens of people who experienced profound shifts in consciousness. The Adventure draws on this groundbreaking research, together with Taylor’s own awakening experiences, to offer guided meditations, contemplative exercises, and other practices for catalyzing spiritual transformation, as well as lyric poems and inspirational stories. The Adventure outlines how to: • recognize and cultivate the eight defining characteristics of wakefulness, including presence, acceptance, gratitude, and disidentification from the ego • expand awareness and quiet the mind through meditations and practical exercises • transcend our normal “sleep” state and the “thought mind” to move toward increasing heights and depths of spiritual awakening • use the challenges of everyday life — of home, workplace, and relationships — as doorways to enlightenment
Download or read book The Adventures of Herman the Bean written by Robert Hosking and published by . This book was released on 2014-03 with total page 34 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Who is Herman the Bean? Herman is probably the nicest jelly bean you'll ever meet. He may be small, but his dreams are as big as they come. If Herman decides to do something, there's no stopping him; unless of course someone needs his help. Herman the Bean is a lot like a human being, he makes mistakes, but he knows what it means to never give up, or give in to a few setbacks. In fact, Herman's motto is included in every one of his adventurous tales, and will be a constant theme in every future book. The Motto of Herman the Bean: "CAN'T is a coward, but TRY is a king." That is the motto of Herman the Bean. Sometimes you win, and sometimes you lose, and sometimes what happens is not up to you. But trying is something you can choose to do. So why not choose trying, if that's up to you? It may seem that everything Herman Bean tries, turns out for the best in his storybook rhymes. But life doesn't always happen that way, the skies may be sunny, but sometimes they're gray. There's ups, and there's downs, and there's even sideways, and nobody's perfectly perfect always. So just keep on trying the best that you can, and if you should fall, then get up again. And brush off the dust just like Herman would do. He never stops trying, and neither should you. The Adventures of Herman the Bean... ...is sure to inspire, encourage, entertain, and delight readers of all ages. Herman reminds us we're all human, and we all make mistakes, but that life isn't about falling down, it's about getting up and trying again. Herman's adventures are written using fun and simple rhymes which are structured to teach as well as entertain. The style has been compared to Dr. Seuss books, but with slightly easier rhyming patterns. This children's book is sure to be enjoyed by children of all ages, and probably many adults as well. We may even venture to say it will become a classic collectable.

Download or read book Thirty One Days written by Poethics Oblivion Stareyes - Dark Sun and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2012-07-24 with total page 312 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As Poethics Obilivion Stareyes - Dark Sun, this is my first book of Poetry. I have written Poetry, however, authored by my real name, which is Verlena Sexton-Walker, and as Poethics Oblivion Stareyes and therefore, have published six Poetry Books and all are live. Thirty-One Days was written in the presence of a Spiritual God. I felt as if I was a castaway in such of a new world and thus, my Poetry was a channel of articulation brought from the spiritual realm via the mind by means of meditation. As a Psalmist, which is the qualifier that defines my Poetry, I have scribed Thirty-One Days in an academia presence of insight and theory. Theologically, Thirty-One Days is an anointing of sanctification given by the Spiritual God within a divine aura and with the dignity of a Goddess. Thirty-One Days idolizes the human life formed as a supernatural existence that is prayer based, theologically sound, ministry of the truth, and bound by a higher order to come. Dogmatically, Thirty-One Days captures a doctrine of faith that is shown throughout its poetic verses. Scripturally prepared to a monotheistic belief, Thirty-One Days is mystically written to enrich and enhance the insight to develop foresight via the creation of the Spiritual God who we sense when we call upon the Lord. In all, Thirty-One Days was etched in the State of Michigan by a native Mississippian and therefore, it is a written document of circumstances and situational melodrama that is the factual truth in occurrence in which it is dedicated to those who provided Poethics Oblivion Stareyes - Dark Sun with her poetic stories via poetry, prayer, tall tales, and parables.
