Book The Adulterer s Dilemma a Novel

Download or read book The Adulterer s Dilemma a Novel written by Sam Anthony and published by . This book was released on 2020-01-09 with total page 379 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It's lonely being a serial killer. The must-read psychological thriller for 2020. What a dilemma: Should he confess his crimes, seek absolution, hand himself over to the police and serve a long prison sentence ... or continue to live with the overwhelming guilt, and stay on the run with his beautiful pregnant lover? What happens when an adulterer meets a serial killer? While Jo begs Lee to just suck it up and find a way to cope with his guilty conscience, a real-life serial killer tries to convince him to murder again, just for the sheer fun of it. Enjoy the continuing adventure of Lee as he sinks deeper into regret and despair, all the while trying not to repeat the mistakes of his past. Praise for The Adulterer Series: You guys just have to read this! It has really messed with my mind. It blew me away! Couldn't put it down. Brilliantly written, flows wonderfully and keeps you turning the page. Read it, you won't be disappointed. This author has a really twisted mind. Think Stephen King writing a psychological romance thriller. This is my favourite thriller read of the year so far. It's unique. Sam Anthony has created a character as engaging and page-turning as the actual psychological thriller plot. One of the best books I've read in 2019 and I can't WAIT for the next instalment. Not my usual read ... but the ending ... Wow! A very well written and well thought out novel, with real, flawed, and totally human characters. I thought I knew where the story was going, but it was much more powerful than I had anticipated. A great read. Sam Anthony is an AMAZING storyteller! It takes a ton of talent for an author to create a main character like Lee who does such despicable things and makes such terrible choices and make him into someone likeable who you want to root for. Sexy, witty and entertaining. A must read!! The story takes some thrilling unexpected twists and ends with the mother of all cliffhangers. I'm highly anticipating the sequel.

Book Dilemma

Download or read book Dilemma written by Albert Cutie and published by Penguin. This book was released on 2011-01-04 with total page 215 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: He was a Roman Catholic priest whose love affair became headline news. Now, he shares his explosive story-in his own words... In this deeply personal and controversial memoir, Father Albert Cutié tells about the devastating struggle between upholding his sacred promises as a priest and falling in love. Already conflicted with growing ideological differences with the Church, Cutié was forced to abruptly change his life the day that he was photographed on the beach, embracing the woman he would later call his wife. Once a poster boy of the Roman Catholic Church-loved and admired by millions-Cutié found that he was not happy and able to live as a celibate priest, especially having to defend the number of positions he was no longer in agreement with. For years he kept his relationship a secret, while he soul searched and prayed for answers. The love that he deemed a blessing was bringing him closer to God, but further from the Church. In Dilemma, Cutié tells about breaking that promise, reigniting the very heated debate over mandatory celibacy for Catholic priests, beginning a new way of life and discovering a new way of serving God.

Book excerpt: A brilliantly original debut about a love affair cut short, and how lonely it is to live inside a secret -- for fans of Sally Rooney, Sheila Heti, and Ottessa Moshfegh. Ana Kelly can deal with death. As an estate lawyer, an unfortunate part of her day-to-day is phone calls from the next of kin informing her that one of her clients has died. But nothing could have prepared Ana for the call from Rebecca Taylor, explaining in a strangely calm tone that her husband Connor was killed in an accident. Ana had been having an affair with Connor for three years, keeping their love secret in hotel rooms, weekends away, and swiftly deleted text messages. Though consuming, they hide their love well, and nobody knows of their relationship except Mark, Connor's best friend. Alone and undone, Ana seeks friendship with the person who she once thought of as her adversary and opposite, but who is now the only one who shares her pain -- Rebecca. As Ana becomes closer to her lover's widow, she is forced to reconcile painful truths about the affair, and the fickleness of love and desire. Funny, frank, and strange, Sarah Crossan's moving novel is wholly original and deeply resonant.

Book excerpt: "A fresh look at infidelity, broadening the focus from the havoc it wreaks within a committed relationship to consider also why people do it, what it means to them, and why breaking up is the expected response to duplicity — but not necessarily the wisest one.” — LA Review of Books From iconic couples’ therapist and bestselling author of Mating in Captivity comes a provocative and controversial look at infidelity with practical, honest, and empathetic advice for how to move beyond it. An affair: it can rob a couple of their relationship, their happiness, their very identity. And yet, this extremely common human experience is so poorly understood. What are we to make of this time-honored taboo—universally forbidden yet universally practiced? Why do people cheat—even those in happy marriages? Why does an affair hurt so much? When we say infidelity, what exactly do we mean? Do our romantic expectations of marriage set us up for betrayal? Is there such a thing as an affair-proof marriage? Is it possible to love more than one person at once? Can an affair ever help a marriage? Perel weaves real-life case stories with incisive psychological and cultural analysis in this fast-paced and compelling book. For the past ten years, Perel has traveled the globe and worked with hundreds of couples who have grappled with infidelity. Betrayal hurts, she writes, but it can be healed. An affair can even be the doorway to a new marriage—with the same person. With the right approach, couples can grow and learn from these tumultuous experiences, together or apart. Affairs, she argues, have a lot to teach us about modern relationships—what we expect, what we think we want, and what we feel entitled to. They offer a unique window into our personal and cultural attitudes about love, lust, and commitment. Through examining illicit love from multiple angles, Perel invites readers into an honest, enlightened, and entertaining exploration of modern marriage in its many variations. Fiercely intelligent, The State of Affairs provides a daring framework for understanding the intricacies of love and desire. As Perel observes, “Love is messy; infidelity more so. But it is also a window, like no other, into the crevices of the human heart.”
