Their recovery, however, is likely to be enhanced if family functioning can be improved. This report explains the family support network (FSN) intervention, which seeks to extend the focus of treatment beyond the world of the adolescent by engaging the family. The FSN model uses only a limited number of the more costly in-home therapy sessions coupled with several less costly group sessions. This approach seeks to engage families in the treatment process, improve parents¿ competence in supporting their child¿s recovery, and shift therapy from formal treatment to a support group for parents. This is a print-on-demand edition of a hard-to-find report.
