Mr. Adderly reading the evening service, I baptized two children and preached. I also preached in the morning of the next day. Here is a most favorable Opening for our services, and it is my earnest hope that a church may be erected at an early day. A parochial organization is in existence, under the name Of Hope Church, and a spirit is manifest which can hardly fail to establish the parish on a perma nent foundation. The field is one that ought to have the entire labors of a resident minister. On Wednesday, May 9, in the evening, I preached in Christ Church, Burlington, after prayers by the Rev. Messrs. Adderly and Batchelder, and confirmed two persons; the Rector, the Rev. Mr. Hafi', reading the Preface to the Confirmation Office. This Parish has recently procured an organ, and its general state is such as to warrant the expectation that it will soon become self-supporting. An enlargement of the Church will soon be called for by the increase of the city and of the congregation.
