Book excerpt: Prayer is a very powerful tool for the well being of a person. It brings him hope. It makes him believe that the impossible can be a possibility. Usually however, he prays for selfish reason. Thus, when the Apostles asked Jesus to teach them how to pray, I could not help but wonder if the reason was to help others or to become well-known miracle workers. The Jews are a very prayerful people that believe in miracles. They have a tradition going back to Adam, Noah, Moses and Solomon that by the right rituals or prayers or names of God one could perform miracles. For sure the apostles knew how to pray and the holy names of God. Yet why did they ask Jesus to teach them how to pray? What could be the reason? They saw Jesus performed miracles that they could not perform. They were very much impressed that they could not suppress their desire for Jesus to teach them how. But Jesus surprised them by teaching them a simple prayer instead of a complicated ritual or prayer. The prayer that Jesus taught is now known as the "Lord's Prayer" or the "Our Father". Since then, the Apostles were able to perform the same miracles as Jesus did. Was the Lord's Prayer the key to the miracles performed by the Apostles? If so, then this must be a very powerful prayer and would answer the question why Jesus taught only one prayer. The Lord's Prayer may not be as simple as it seems. People go to seminars, buy books, search for amulets and talismans for prosperity and health and look for gurus. Why not try the prayer taught by one of the greatest spiritual teachers, Jesus? This book is the most comprehensive book ever written about the Lord's Prayer. It traces the origin of the prayer and its possible source. Was Jesus really the author of the prayer? If so, why was not the prayer mentioned in the Gospels of Mark and John nor in the writings of Paul or the Gnostics? Who placed this prayer in the Gospels of Matthew and Luke? Why is there no original Hebrew version of the prayer considering that Jesus and the Apostles were Jews and the place was Judea? This book will reveal the answers and the secret code that has been hidden from the masses but revealed to a select few. It deals also with the secret teachings of Jesus called the Kabalah, allegedly an ancient oral tradition handed down from generation to generation originating from Adam to Seth, Abraham, Moses, David to Solomon and to the High Priest. It reveals the secret of creation, the origin of man, evolution and intelligent design; the location of the Garden of Eden and the Deluge. The Code shows the relation of the Lord's Prayer to ancient civilizations like Sumer, Egypt, Israel, China and the Meso-Americans. Even the probable and possible future events are also revealed more particularly the years 2006 and 2012. The Code was discovered thru the use of the Kabalah and the Equidistant Letter Sequence used in decoding the Bible. This book reveals how to harness the power of the Lord's Prayer and how to experience the miracles performed by Jesus and the Apostles. This book will show that the Lord's Prayer is not only a prayer but is a code that reveals untold doctrines and settles issues like the following: Who was the author of the Lord's Prayer? Why did the Apostles ask Jesus to teach them how to pray? Did Jesus teach secret doctrines to the Apostles like the Kabalah? Can we perform the miracles the Apostles did? What is the speech of "Babies"? Why are ancient civilizations like Sumer, Egypt, Israel, MesoAmerica and China in the Code? Why are the Pyramids and the Sphinx mentioned in the Code and who built them? Why is President Bush in the Code? Was the September 11,2001 tragedy in the Code? Is there really an "End Time"? Why is Sen. Barack H. Obama in the Code? Another intriguing question in the book is if there are many forgeries in the New Testament, what is the truth? What matters most, the teacher or the teaching? There are many c

Book The Secret and Power of Praying the Lord s Prayer

Download or read book The Secret and Power of Praying the Lord s Prayer written by Sarah Kerubo Nyandoro and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2023-01-10 with total page 109 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Lord's Prayer--or the "Our Father," as it's sometimes referred to--is a prayer that was taught by the Lord Jesus Christ to His disciples after they had asked Him to teach them to pray. This prayer is widely known in all Christian churches, irrespective of the denomination. Many of us know and have memorized this prayer in our lifetime. The question that is answered in this book is, what was indeed in the Lord's mind when He taught them to pray in this manner? In this book, you will discover, as the writer also discovered, that the Lord's Prayer is a guide or a model that was meant to be followed daily, not just to be recited. The author explains how it is like a sketch map or a skeleton that needs tendons, ligaments, muscles, etc. or a scheme of work that has to be developed into detailed daily lessons. Each section in this book details in systematic succession, section by section, what each one of them means to us as we pray the Lord's Prayer. You will find Bible illustrations as well as real-life examples that the author uses to cultivate your desire to know the secret and the power that there is in praying the Lord's Prayer. God is the Father, and His plans are for good and not for evil. As a Father, He can say yes, no, or wait in response to our prayer. In all we do or desire, we should ask ourselves this question: who is going to be glorified after all is said and done. This enables us to search and remain humble in our commitment to the Lord, for God does not share His glory with anyone. In every kingdom, there is a ruler, and there are citizens. God takes the precedence of being King of our life to reign in us. It is the will of the King that gets done. Therefore, you will see in practicality how to let God's will be done in your daily life. Jesus, the bread of life, is our daily bread. You will see that the Lord did not only mean for us to ask for physical bread, but He indeed meant spiritual food as well. The question is, if indeed He meant for us to ask God to give us our daily food, won't that mean that only those who are poor are the ones to pray this portion? How can this portion of the prayer have meaning to a rich man who has no lack with food? Read on and discover. Forgiveness is for you who is forgiving, for it frees you from bondage. With God's help, forgiveness is possible. Jesus demonstrated it at the garden and at the cross. There is power in praying the Lord's Prayer. Read and know that power for yourself.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As the Shepherd of our souls, God knows what things we have need of. As Father, He has also supplied the need; however, because of the condition of our hearts, the supply is often met with opposition. Because of unbelief, three out of four of us will reject the wisdom sown in our hearts. This occurs primarily because our identity (who we are in Christ) has not been established; making us ill-prepared to function in His likeness; to think like Him. Consequently, we are not equipped to handle the storms of life. Finding ourselves going around the same mountain again and again, we sit back and question God. But through praying the Lord's Prayer, our Maker can get in and turn things around. The Lord's Prayer-Revisited will address seven ways God uses to bring about a turnaround in our prayer life. First, it brings us back to God's original manner of prayer; it teaches us to prepare our hearts to receive His Word and keep it. Next, it helps to guard us from the sin of presumption that leads to unbelief and ultimate disappointment. The Lord's Prayer also teaches us that prayer is a test that exposes the condition of our hearts. God is endeavoring to prove Himself faithful to those whose hearts are perfect toward Him. But often, His Word finds no rest in many of our hearts. As the author of our faith, God is looking for the operation of one of seven processes that prove that we are willing and able to think on His level. These secret processes bring the powerful alliance of God and man to the needs in our lives--and correlate with each petition-verse of the Lord's Prayer. The Lord's Prayer-Revisited will also bring the seven Redemptive Names of God to bear on our prayer life, where the promises of God are confirmed. The name of Jesus embodies all the essence, characteristics, and power evoked in each of Jehovah's Redemptive Names. In Exodus 3:13-14, Moses asked God, how he should respond when asked, "What is his name? What shall I say unto them?" God did not hesitate to tell him. When Moses heard the name: 'I AM, ' 1 it spoke volumes to him; he knew that they were in good hands. The Bible says: "And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee..." (Psalms 9:10). As we hallow His name, we are making a demand on the promises and attributes His name denotes; because we belong to Him, we are kept in His name. His name is a strong tower, where the righteous run into it and are safe (Proverbs 18:10). The Lord's Prayer-Revisited will also address seven hindrances of each petition (areas where we fall short of the glory of God.) and seven strategies (ways of escape) of each petition. In addition, it will highlight the seven specific types of prayer each petition evokes. Each prayer gives God access into that particular area of our need. Finally, The Lord's Prayer-Revisited will help you to think like the Master!

Drawn from the 2011 Building Bridges seminar in Doha, Qatar, the essays in this volume explore the devotional practices of each tradition and how these practices are taught and learned. Relevant texts are included, with commentary, as are personal reflections on prayer by each of the seminar participants. The volume also contains a Christian reflection on Islamic prayer and a Muslim reflection on Christian prayer. An extensive account of the informal conversations at the seminar conveys a vivid sense of the lively, penetrating, but respectful dialogue that took place.
